A beautiful part of Scotland to stay in, with lots of information about the surrounding area available for us when we arrived. The house was well equipped with everything that we needed our only issue being that the beds were not very comfortable, despite this we had a lovely stay in a part of the country we had not visited before.

Perfect setting for a celebration weekend for all our family. We cooked our meals and sat around the super size dining table in amazing surroundings. We went for walks as we were lucky to have good weather in March. One of us went cold water swimming!! (Very brave) We played family games, had a pool tournament, celebrated St Patrick's day (we're Scottish, any excuse to celebrate) The Lodge is fully equipped we didn't want for anything We would highly recommend Stronachlachar Lodge and hopefully we can visit again.

Others have said it, I’ll reiterate it: the pictures do not do the property justice! Not only is the property gorgeous and well-stocked, but it is extremely spacious! The views were second to none and access to the café at the foot of the garden, as well as the unspoiled views across Loch Katrine make this a bucket list type property. The owners were incredible from beginning to end and always on hand for whatever we needed. we would love to visit here again and stay, as so many wonderful memories were made as we celebrated Hogmanay with our friends. While Stronachlachar feels remote, it’s just far enough away that you can find yourself again, whilst being close enough to access, whatever you need. It even snowed for us on our trip! Thank you Graham and Cath for a wonderful and memorable experience!

Well, the photos did not do the property or views justice. Staggeringly good. The house was beautifully equipped, spacious rooms for all, top notch bathrooms, and roaring fires. Couldnt have asked for better, everything we needed and stuff we didnt know we needed too!! Thanks so much, worth every penny!

We are 3 generations of family, ages 6-81. We had a wonderful stay. Enough room for everyone in and out of the Lodge. The Pier Cafe is a great addition as there really isn’t anything else close. Inversnaid is lovely for different scenery and the Bunk House had the best food we had in Scotland. Truly amazing dinner and staff.
It is a remote area with lots of trekkers/backpackers. If you love the outdoors, and amazing scenery, it’s paradise. If you want to do a lot of touring, you will have to brave the 1 lane road every time, in and out. It is not for the faint of heart. The key to those roads, if you aren’t familiar, is to take your time and stay towards the center. Too far to the outside, you will pop a tire (as we did day 1). Too fast and you can’t adjust without blowing a sidewall. Go slowly around blind turns and switchbacks and seriously, take your time. After the first run of the road, you will feel better on the drive.
Take time not enjoy the view, the walks, the natural falls. The boat from Inversnaid to Tarbet and beyond is very nice and a little easier than Stronachlachar since that has only 2 stops at the pier. Loch Lomond has multiple boats and stops to goose from. All in all, my 12 & 14 year olds said it was the best vacation we’ve had. Everyone loved the laid back pace and beautiful views, and the girls even swam almost daily. But yeah- it’s COLD! :)

The property was beautiful and even better than we expected. We loved our stay.

Stronachlachar Lodge 1 is a Fabulous property, very well-equipped kitchen, great Wi-Fi & selection on tv, super common-areas, pool table and outside spaces. Think refurbished 2022 under new owners. Beds very comfortable, bed linens high quality. So worth the rental. Highly recommend. The reviews just don’t do this property justice, it was magical. Will rent again.
Here’s “area info” advice we learned & want to share: take your own bikes & kayak/canoe! Strony Lodge is Not on Trossachs Pier, it’s on Stronachlachar Pier, a £20 boat ride each way between the piers, and Trossachs Pier has the bike rentals so it’s not something you do daily. No kayak or canoe rentals allowed on Loch Katrine. If you don’t have your own kayak, we recommend you Go to charming Luss Village on West side of Loch Lomond and rent water equipment, great time—it’s one hour car drive from house but worth the trip—Good Cullen skink at Oak Tree Inn in Balmaha on the way back. (We were told Inversnaid near Stronachlachar had kayak/canoe rentals for east Loch Lomond but when we got there, no rental place & hotel had no info either. Research that ahead of time.)

The property was in a stunning location. The house was very comfortable, well furnished, everything provided for a large group. The wood burning stoves were very efficient. All generations enjoyed the pool table.

We were a group of family and friends from Scotland and England and I can't recommend the lodge enough.
If I could give it 10 stars I would.
The lodge was immaculate and very well equipped. We've booked a few large houses over the years and this was by far the most comfortable and well equipped.
The bedrooms were spacious, stylish and extremely comfortable. The kitchen/dining room was perfect, everything we could possibly need for a large party. Graham our host was so friendly and helpful prior/during and after our visit. The view from the house is spectacular. We were all in agreement, we will definitely be back.

We didn't realize we didn't rent the hole lodge. There were noisy people above our bedroom. Long very narrow road to get to lodge. Great kitchen, rooms were beautiful.

This is our second time staying for a special birthday party.
We had a group of 12 family members ranging from a baby to a 72 year old.
It's a fantastic size of a house for everyone to be involved or to go rest, get a bit quiet etc.
The house is beautifully presented. And we loved that the Christmas decorations were out! It's also very well equipped, cot and high chair is a great touch too. Very handy for our 10 month old nephew.
The surroundings are beautiful, a great big garden for any doggy guests with a fence all the way around. Great walks in the area for keen walkers aswell and if you don't fancy much cooking, The Pier Cafe at the bottom of the garden is open from breakfast till teatime and offers lovely food with a fantastic service.
We loved ur stay again and will most likely revisit.
Thank you!

Stronachlachar is a magical place. After an initial hiccup checking in (an email went astray), Graham moved heaven and earth to get us in, and to make sure everything was great for our large party. The road in from Aberfoyle is .... interesting, and I do wish it were legal to fish in Loch Katrine, but those have nothing to do with the place per se. Definitely wonderful for a family get-together. Our six-year-old did not want to leave!

The property could have been cleaner, the toilet seat was broken ,the cover on one bed was full of dog hairs, some of the dishes were chipped, one of the micro waves was not working, the ice maker in the fridge was broken and clogged with ice. the sofa's were low and uncomfortable. The location was great.

We had a wonderful holiday. Take Smidge, or another insect repellent for the midgies, and all will be well. A kayak for the loch is recommended. Such a comfortable, warm and spacious house.

Great location for those who want to get away from the rat race, located in a very quiet area on the bank of Loch Katrine, surrounded by beautiful scenery.
The house is spacious and easily accommodated 10 of my party, however it could do with a couple of touch ups; showers could do with re-siliconing and remove the mould, new mattresses and pillows as these were heavily stained and not comfortable to sleep on (only found when stripping the beds at the end of the stay) and a general deep clean of the property to remove heavy dust deposits and cobwebs.

Peaceful & beautiful location - right on Loch with great walks straight from the door. Great space inside the house. Downside was WiFi (pretty much non existent, which with house of teenagers is tough! Especially as was advertised with WiFi). Also gate to loch couldn’t be in locked meaning kids needed to climb over it with kayaks etc.

Fantastic loch side accommodation, to a very high standard.
This property is fantastic, from the start the communication was great, Graham answered all questions we had very quickly, the lodge has been done to a very high standard, a lovely huge kitchen with plenty cooking and fridge facilities, a great sitting room with outstanding views over loch Katrine, with a pool room next to it for endless games of pool, all the bedrooms and bathrooms were excellent again large with some of them having loch side views, the garden and sitting area, also have stunning views, and the garden runs down to the loch side, with a wall running round it, for a family holiday, enjoying the piece and quiet this was a hidden gem, Far enough away to enjoy a quiet piece off Scotland, but only 20mins away from amenities, would recommend this lodge as a great place to stay, and would definitely come back. Excellent

A clean, comfortable house in a beautiful setting - well presented and stocked. The house is situated at the end of a 12 mile scenic but narrow challenging road. Unfortunately, at the time of our visit, many advertised local activities at Stronachlachar were not available to us. The steam-boat has not been running for some time as it is undergoing long-term repairs, local paths and a cycle road around the loch were all also closed due to landslips which occurred at the end of 2019. This was a significant disappointment to our party. The ongoing promotion of the property continues to show the steam-boat as an attraction. While we would not expect you to detail this as a limitation, we feel it is unfair to emphasise this item, in particular, when it is not available to the visitor. The Pier Cafe is real bonus to a visit to the property.Overall, a good holiday in spite of poor weather, but a significant disappointment that there are a number of limitations to activities in the immediate area at this time.

Lovely spacious property
9 of us stayed to celebrate my son’s 18th. The house is large, and beautifully decorated - plenty of space for a big family of varying generations. It was spotless and had everything we needed. Lovely quiet surroundings with the most stunning views. We would love to come again.

Luxurious
What a great experience. We had three families staying together - so spacious and lots of hide and seek fun in such a huge property for the kids. Plenty of utensils for many meals and baking, good fridge and freezer space for a week’s stay. Also efficient washing machine and dryer. Log fire was great to have and easy to use. All bedrooms and bathrooms clean, nicely made up and decorated.
Had clear skies with no light pollution allowing us to see the stars at night which was a real treat.
Recommend this property for group get togethers.

Fantastic stay!
I booked this property for a week to celebrate my 60th birthday that needed to suit my wife and I, my brother and wife, my three adult children with partners, my grandchild and 2 dogs!
We wanted somewhere in an awesome location with large bedrooms, large reception areas and lots of interesting local things to do. Wow this place did not disappoint!
The position is absolutely stunning right next to loch Katrine with a commanding view and lovely garden with seating area. There's a café on the pier nearby that provided a delicious meal on my birthday night party in the house and made it very special.
All of the rooms were of top specification and you'd be happy to sleep in any one of them. This made it very easy to decide on rooms with no "duff" one to draw straws for which is inevitably the case when staying in a multi bed house.
Handily Sainsbury's deliver to this location which was very useful as it is a little remote. We stocked up on day one and didn't need a lot more although there is a good Co-Op down the road at Aberfoyle.
For a large family it was brilliant, we could all come together, have our private space and it never felt like we were on top of each other which can happen even with the closest of family's when sharing a property.
We caught brown trout on the lake with a hired boat and guide, visited Glengoyne Distillery for a tour and had a memorable game of golf at Callander. The ultimate trip to Scotland.
A few things to be aware of: broadband is poor here so take the opportunity of switching off and enjoying the location ;-)
We loved it and hope to return soon!
