Summons the expression of truly refined Ante-Bellum experience with all modern amenities. In the kitchen enjoy the timeless La CornueFe gas oven and cooktop range from Saint-Ouen l'Aumone, France served by a whisper quiet, made in the USA Vent-a-hood. Here you can celebrate the glorious culinary traditions of the Old World using only top-of-the-line All-Clad cookware and utensils. Stemless red and white wine glasses were not overlooked. All coffee mugs, and glasses are made of clear insulated glass along with the serving plates, salad plates and bowls so rest assured every item is sparkling. Tidy up after a meal using the stainless bridge faucet in the farmhouse porcelain sink. All items are stored using efficient Rev-a-shelf hardware to house the spices, cutlery, flatware and accessories. Of course, the cabinetry ,kitchen island and 8 foot tall barn doors are hand made on-site using only heart pine sourced during the renovation of the house, from the house.
Crystal-clear Samsung high-definition 4k smart television with Xfinity cable. Netflix, Amazon video, and Hulu are intuitively available at the touch of the remote and are complimentary.
The bathroom is tiled using the original re-purposed slate from Vermont dating back to when the house was built by shipwrights in 1851. The original standing-seam tin front porch roofing was salvaged and is applied to the wall as the backsplash to the hand-made heart pine vanity with hand-hammered nickel-plated vessel sink. The bathroom features a slate-tiled walk-in shower with Kohler rain-head showers. The water closets were sourced from Kent, England to provide a period feel from the Old-World.
In every bedroom , I provide you with a sound machine as well as smart-charging stations for your electronic devices. Enjoy the combination of cypress ship-lap wood walls and heart pine throughout. Most, if not all, heart pine material used dates back to approximately the year 1600.
Outdoor-
Remember that before the advent of air conditioning, Charlestonians tended to congregate on their porches to socialize and spend time to enjoy a cool sea breeze. There are rocking chairs on the porch making it a great place to relax with a book while watching the happenings on Cannon Street. But you do not have to settle for just one porch.. you have a rear porch and patio to enjoy as well. The patio has a lounge chair sofa with an Acorn barbecue grill, all utensils and charcoal provided.
Outdoor patio with Acorn barbecue grill, all outdoor cooking utensils provided.
I am three blocks from King Street. Cannon Street dead ends into King where you would be right in the middle of all the activity - many nice restaurants such as The Darling, the Grocery, Ordinary and Endaco, good places to have drinks like Stars, the Belmont, Midtown and Prohibition. There are also great niche restaurants closer than King Street. Pick the experience - fine dining to relaxed outdoor dining, it is here. You could look up Hominy Grill, Chez Nous, Trattoria Lucca, Fuel, Goulette.
I am available for questions as needed. Glad to assist in any way I can.
The Cannonborough neighborhood is an inviting downtown area that blends classic architecture with a modern lifestyle. From here, it's easy walking distance to historic locations and a selection of delicious restaurants, cafes, and bakeries.
There is plenty to see and places to visit within walking distance. Pedicabs are readily available to get you from point A to point B. Uber and Lyft are very common. You will not face any delay catching an uber. Mind as well catch an uber for about $20 to Magnolia or Middleton Plantations.

If you want the full Charleston experience you need to sign up for a walking tour or carriage tour, a must. Very clean. Outstanding location. We'll be back.

Beautifully restored home in a great location. Walking distance to King Street and several places to eat. Bagel store right on the corner was awesome. House was great. Parking in rear was a little tight due to some construction they are doing to the property to the rear. Can’t wait to see the finished product. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

The intentionality of every detail was noticed - from the drive up to the little nooks and crannies. Within a short walk to amazing food and iconic Charleston spots. We will certainly let be back!

Wow! Amazing space for my lady and I to explore downtown Charleston from. Amazing coffee and restaurants a short walk away; our favorite being literally next door - Southbound for a great meal and cocktails. The room was absolutely spotless, brand new. Every comfort you could imagine, and such great style. Just everything you could want, and exactly what is advertised. Thanks again! 10/10 experience.

Wow! What a fabulous place The Charlestonian is!! The host has thought of everything - both in the decor of the space to make it feel like a home and in the attention to detail to include everything a guest may need. And the location is excellent for walking; just blocks from King Street. I am already thinking about when I can come back!

We loved staying at this property! The place was gorgeous and near King street, so we walked everywhere we needed to go. We also took advantage of the covered front deck for a glass of wine during a light rainstorm and it is one of my favorite memories of our trip.
There are also restaurants beside and below the property, giving us more easy options. George and team were very communicative, even as our travel plans kept updating at the last minute. Overall, a great experience!

This was the absolute perfect location for all the culinary delights of Charleston. George met us and walked us through the property--which is gorgeous! We were excited to be just steps from Sugar, Holey City Bagel, and Baba- all perfect for breakfast and sweets. We were a short walk from our dinner favorites--Fuel Cantina, Chez Nous, and Prohibition and a fabulous spot if you are coming back for a mid-afternoon porch relaxing lunch is right on site--Ladles. Overall a great stay to help our friend surprise his wife for her birthday.

Me, my wife, and infant son stayed at this amazing rental for a weekend stay. It was the perfect location to walk around, shop, and eat. The check in process was seamless and the property was exactly as described. Having a parking spot made getting around the city and barrier islands very easy. 10/10 would recommend staying here during your time in Charleston.

Our favorite part of our visit to Charleston was actually sitting on the front balcony of this property, watching folks walk by, hearing diners at Southbound next door. We will definitely stay again!

Wonderful place to stay...very comfortable. Loved sitting on the front porch. We appreciated all of George's recommendations.
My only problem was that I had sent two questions to George before our stay and neither was answered.
He was great when we got there.

Wonderful stay! The unit was beautiful, great location and priced accordingly. Some problems with checking in with confusion surrounding host meeting us in person but just left a key and didn’t notify us. Sat outside waiting for 20 min. until we reached out again. Otherwise no complaints about anything else!!

This property was just wonderful! Super comfortable, clean and quiet. The hosts were very accommodating, making sure we had everything we needed to make our stay perfect. We especially enjoyed the attention to detail with the high quality renovations that made this place so charming. Loved the games and had fun staying in one night to play Trivial Pursuit, which my daughters had never played before. Super fun. Perfect location - close to everything. No problems with parking. Safe and quiet neighborhood. We will definitely stay here next time we visit Charleston!

Loved the location and the beautiful space that you have created. The gathering room was very comfortable as were the beds. But our favorite part was the front porch!!! Even in the summer it was enjoyable in the evening. Randall helped with any questions and even showed us main points about the renovation of the house.

It is a beautiful apartment, very well thought out. The location is close to city attractions but not extremely close (a 25 to 26-minute walk). We preferred parking at Cumberland Garage and visiting the city attractions. We had a very good time; however, we did encounter a few issues. The parking behind Ladles has only three proper spaces compared to, I believe, four buildings. When we arrived at 10 PM on the first night, we managed to squeeze a spot at the end behind another car and had to take out the next day early morning, but from the next day onwards, we didn't have any parking issues. However, I'm not sure if anyone else faced problems because of the parking situation. Our Wi-Fi wasn't working when we arrived and after sending a text, we received a reply the next day in the afternoon with the Wi-Fi password. The bathrooms are quite dark in terms of decor, and the shower light was not functioning. I sent a text regarding this issue but did not receive a response at all. Additionally, one of the beds was slanting, which caused my children to have difficulty getting a night of proper sleep.

The interior and exterior were both absolutely gorgeous. We enjoyed sitting out in the porch and people watching until late! The shower was a fan favorite, and the interior, while small, was so tasteful and luxurious with everything we needed for a great stay. Awesome location- quiet enough to be relaxing, central enough that we could go anywhere. Thanks George for a great stay!

I’ve rented from this owner before! His rentals are all spotless, designer decorated, high end finishes and well laid out. You can tell a lot of thought was put in to these units. Easy walk to King Street and tons of neighborhood restaurants, bars and bakeries. Will definitely be staying again!

Clean, well stocked, very nicely remodeled, so glad we chose to stay. Good beds and linens, everything we needed in the kitchen. Parking. Everything so clean indoors and out. Neighborhood was good but we could’ve been a bit closer to what we were doing, didn’t end up mattering but we were glad we had rented a car. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Great stay on Cannon
My husband, daughter and I stayed here while visiting the College of Charleston. This house was amazing. The house was so distinctly Charleston in its layout and design. It was clean, quiet, perfectly furnished, had excellent beds, a well stocked kitchen with utensils, spices as well as cleaning supplies. The pictures accurately describes this beautiful home. And, we LOVE this location. Close to campus but also close to great neighborhood bars, breakfast spots and restaurants. We feel so lucky to have had the chance to stay here. Will definitely be back.

Convenient location
Up and coming part of town close enough to king street and visitors center. Loved people watching from the front porch but was disappointed that we couldn’t nap at all during day bc of the construction noise but I guess it’s progress in the making, and maybe that’s not important to other visitors.

Perfect Spot for Family Spring Break
We loved this well appointed unit! My family planned to explore the greater Charleston area: Ft. Sumter, Angel Tree, Isl. of Palms, kayaking near Folly Beach, and historic Charleston. George’s property was perfectly located! It became our home away from home. We loved returning to the property every evening and cooking a yummy dinner in the well stocked and beautiful kitchen. My husband and I enjoyed cocktails on the porch, chatting and people watching. The beds were incredibly comfortable! The robes provided were lush and cozy after a relaxing shower. Overall, we felt properly pampered and are already planning our return. Thank you for such amazing experience.
