Lovely barn for a weekend hideaway in the Peaks

Swallow Barn was well equipped, in a great location and very cosy. The hosts were kind and helped us out in finding some great walks and areas to explore. The barn is also private and feels very secluded, making it a perfect hideaway.

The only thing I have to say is the lack of natural light but this is due to the immediate neighbours, and the property is well lit artificially.

Lovely stay.

Swallow barn was perfect for us with plenty of space and a brilliant location. Well equipped and comfortable. Our hosts were lovely and told us about things to do and places to eat in the area. The pub in the village was an excellent place to eat.

Lovely one bedroomed barn - great location

Beautifully clean and the kitchen was very well equipped. Very peaceful location and owners very helpful with local points of interest.

The shower - not to our usual standard - hot enough just under powered. Also only a small round table inside so couldn’t play board games or cards in evening.

Great location with a beautiful building!

The location was beautiful. The owners were extremely accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed. The area was quiet and had a very friendly feel about it. Close to everything you need in the Peak District, including great walks and scenic drives. Would happily stay here again in the future!

Superb

Perfectly sized property for a couple and well behaved labrador. Great location with walks out the door and somewhere to walk the dog off the lead in the mornings and evenings. Parking on the road could be awkward but worth it for the peaceful location with a local pub selling great food that is also dog friendly.

Floor around entrance needs some attention but didn't affect our love of the property ;)

Exceptional

The cottage was absolutely lovely. Fabulous 2 night stay. There is everything you need for a short break. All kitchen equipment was in excellent condition and good quality set of knives. I often find old blunt knives when we go away. The host Gill & David take pride both inside & outside of Swallow Barn. Perfect place to Stay in a small village with excellent pub& friendly locals. 👌

Nothing. We both had a relaxing break and there is honestly nothing we can say that needs improving.

Peaceful dog walking break

We had a fantastic time! Swallow Barn is a gorgeous, cosy place to stay surrounded by amazing countryside, with a lovely pub down the road. Just what we needed. Hope to be back soon, thank you Gill & David!

Most beautiful little barn in the most beautiful location

Absolutely loved our two day stay at swallow barn!! The barn was beautiful well equipped with everything we needed and perfectly located for exploring the Peak District. We didn’t want to leave!

Perfect mid week break in the Peak District

Clean, cosy , well equipped little barn, perfect for two & a pooch. Located in a small village with a good pub 5 minutes walk away. Ideal location for exploring the Peak District .

Loved it 😀

Great to finally get away after a year long delay due to covid. Great little barn, very cosy had everything we needed. Good location! Perfect for a couple and a doggy! 🐶

Only tiny little grumble, we found the bed rather hard for us but thats personal preference. Wouldn’t put us off returning.

Exceptional

Swallow Barn was very comfortable, warm and cosy, which we appreciated as we had a wet few days during our stay. There is good internet connection in the cottage, but the village itself is a black spot for mobile phones. There is no washing machine or dryer, but the owners live next door and will do any washing you have for free. Otherwise, the location is convenient for walking trails and not too far from the town of Bakewell. The village pub is only a few minutes walk away and is very friendly and serves food.

Perfect to switch off from the world! Small accommodation which is perfect for a base

The only thing missing was a baking tray, everything else had been thought of!
