We loved the house overall. We were surprised by how steep the driveway was then had some difficulties getting the coded lock to open but one of our group eventually got it. Once we got in we were very impressed with the spaciousness and comfort of the house. The beds were all really comfy and the showers were great.
We also had some trouble getting the gas grill to work but then just ended up cooking on the stove instead and eating out the 2nd night instead. We really only spent time sleeping here since we spent our days riding UTV’s at Turkey Bay. It was a great space that was available when we needed it. We’d love to come back and spend some time on the lake as well. Thanks for sharing your house with us!!

This was an absolutely lovely home and perfect for our needs. We absolutely loved the patios and the dock and took advantage of the kayaks to explore the lake. There were plenty of beds - which made some of the rooms cramped, but lots of beds is a major reason we chose this home. The home was also well stocked - a laundry room with plenty of spare bedding and towels, a kitchen with all the major gadgets and a few less popular ones, and seating in multiple areas. There were a few quirky/upkeep things that made it less than perfectly comfortable (e.g. the thermostat responses to settings was confusing and would regularly reset; the front screen door could use some TLC; one of the rooms had the vents closed, making for a very cold night), but they were all minor enough that I didn't feel justified knocking off a star. All in all we had a wonderful visit and we already have family members asking to go back!

This house was perfect for our family reunion and Thanksgiving get together. In total we had 9 adults, 2 teens, 2 pre-teens, and 1 elementary age child. The house was clean and nicely decorated. There were tons of handy bonuses, such as buffet crock pots, lots of kitchen gadgets, etc. We had a little trouble with the smoke detectors and the main TV. Home owners tried to trouble shoot them for us, but we ended up doing without the big game on Thanksgiving. The back decks and the bunk beds could use some maintenance, as the bunks were very wobbly and the back decks had some nail/screws that appeared to be pulling out. I wouldn't exactly trust the railings to prevent a fall until they're attended to. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would absolutely consider a repeat of all the family is available again.
And yes, to echo others, the driveway is steeper than you'll imagine. We cleared the wet fallen leaves from it before driving or walking on it to be sure there were no issues with sliding.

The house has nice spaces to gather. We ate our evening meal outside on the upper deck. Beautiful view. We were gone during the day working with Habitat for Humanity so the evenings were a time to relax. We were warned about the steep driveway. Our bus barely fit the parking space, but nothing bad happened.

The kids loved going down to the "lake" (technically a river inlet) and having campfires. The number of rooms and beds were great. We have a lot of single people in the family so a few queen beds won't cut it for our group. This house had plenty of beds. The kids even switched beds each night to try them all. Definitely a place we'll consider for future reunions.

Met our needs
There were some issues with the basement when we arrived. Shannon and Jeff did pretty much everything they could to make it right. They were easy to get in touch with and tried very hard to fix the issues. In the end, it met our needs, we just needed to move some beds from the basement to the upstairs. and avoided the basement as much as possible. Hopefuly this was a one time issue. I have confidence that they will do what they need to do to resolve the issue. The location was good. Plenty of beds. Tons of room to spread out and socialize. FYI, when they say the driveway is steep, they really mean it. The kitchen was well stocked. Plenty of towels, etc. Overall, it was a good stay.

Wonderful place for large families with lots of children, Youth retreat would be wonderful
Lots of beds and fun games. As advertised steep driveway. Very steep, hard for us seniors that stayed to walk down or up. We had several cars and could fit two in driveway. Outside patio's were not cleaned at all. Dishwasher was broken, hard for us seniors washing dishes. We were there for reunion at Lake barkley, was much further than expected according to listing. 15 minute drive, not bad, but both ways if we needed to run back was disappointed. House was clean inside, but you are near woods so bugs were around.

This house is large enough for our large family to celebrate a late Christmas. With 7 bedrooms everybody gets a bed! The house is clean and has everything you need for a long weekend except food! The view of the lake is beautiful. Thinking of maybe coming again when the weather is warmer.

Family rejuvenation

Lovely retreat!
We stayed for 4 nights and had a great time! The kitchen was very well stocked which made cooking a breeze! The immense porch was so much fun to sit out on! The toys, videos, video game console made for a lot of fun for the kids! Beds we used were very comfortable, pillows could stand an update but I'm a picky pillow person. We went out boating on the lake several times. The house was very spacious and comfortable. Would definitely stay again!

We enjoyed our stayEXCEPT the marina! Our pontoon rental did not run well plus they insisted that we return it even though we were in the midst of a torrential downpour and electrical storm! We were told we would be charged another day even though GPS would clearly confirm the boat was parked at our dock.

Great place for a family vacation
We had a great trip! The house was big enough for 8 adults and 7 children (ages 8 and under). The game room downstairs was perfect for the kids to play. The dock had enough access to swim off of. We would book this place again!

Wonderful spot to enjoy your family and friends!!
We had 4 couples and 8 kiddos, ranging from 1-11 years old and there was plenty of room for each couple to have their own room and the kids loved bunking together and there were even empty beds after that. The dock is a perfect spot to swim and we enjoyed the kayaks as well. The basement was the perfect hangout spot and the pool table/ping pong table was a hit! The porches were utilized throughout the day and was a great place to dine and relax. To anyone stating the place needs updates, I don't understand, it is a lake house and I couldn't have decorated it better myself. It fit our needs and more. We would highly recommend this place to others and we are looking forward to coming back.

Private and roomy! We loved our family vacation!!
We had 11 adults (some were teenagers but adults sized) and 2 kiddos under 10. There were plenty of beds with some not being used. We brought our jet skis and the lake was perfect, we almost had the entire cove to ourselves this week. The house had everything we needed for fixing meals and was cozy. As in previous reviews the drive was is extremely steep. The stairs to the lake are also steep but manageable, our 70 year old mother made the trip down and back fine with help. They could use some TLC though. If you have a large party that wants to hang out down at the dock and swim I suggest bringing lawn chairs as there are no lawn chairs available for use. There are plastic chairs behind the fire pit but definitely need to be cleaned. The house is very cute and so is the decor, but the cleanliness of the house is the only only reason for the decrease in stars. I understand that there are going to be bugs because it is a wooded lot, but there were dead bugs everywhere in the house . The only other complaint was that the light switches in two bedrooms in the basement did not work. Easy check in and out process and quick responses

Great weekend!
Great location on the lake, The main level was nice & clean. The kitchen had everything we needed. Lots of bedrooms, clean but dated. The back porch was very nice, we all hung out there a lot, but could have definitely used a good cleaning. Disappointed in the grill, it was nasty dirty & took us forever to get it to lite & only one small portion worked. We enjoyed playing ping pong & video games in the basement, however it was a little musty smelling. Overall we had a great time.
