Great value and superb dinner selection and quality (plus excellent value)

The 10% discount made my decision easier and very glad I did as the room was large and added bonus of tea making facilities plus a bathtub.

Railway line across the road and of course being a character building some of the paintwork/detailing needed attention.

Superb

A friendly welcome by staff and easy check in. There was a good range of dishes on the restaurant menu and prices were good value. The room was clean and comfortable. Nice breakfast. The total experience was very good value for money.

Wi-Fi not that strong in the bedroom.

Attractive accommodation. Lovely staff. Great dinner and breakfast.

There was two separate beds which we wanted. The room was nice. There was parking. The woman who checked us in was friendly.

there’s a train track right outside the property and was woken up by trains at 6am and couldn’t sleep after that as they were every 10 minutes! breakfast was not great - mushrooms were dry, the bacon did not taste good. We didn’t get a pot of tea/coffee at the table. Had to keep refilling our little cups instead at the breakfast bar. We had to rush to get to the property by 7.20pm as we had a phone call to say that the staff wanted to go home even though their check in times say 2pm to 9pm.

Lovely room with very comfortable beds. Staff were lovely and welcoming.

Bathroom could do with being updated. Leaking toilet, that we found out when going down for breakfast the next morning, had leaked through the celing downstairs. Room very hot so would have been good with a fan in the room. Breakfast finished at 9.30 but they serve breakfast for "guests not staying" until 10.30???? Didn't understand that?? We came down at 9.00 and as soon as 9.30 came, breakfast things were taken away. Had to ask for bread, toaster etc. to be left as had not finished! Checked the menu for evening meal online so knew what we wanted but the menu was totally different!!!.

Lovely, typical English country inn

it is a typical, British country inn. The manager was extremely friendly and welcoming. very good breakfast.

it wasn’t clear from Booking.com that on Sundays the kitchen and bar closes at 19:30. After a long day of driving we were too late to get a meal at the inn.

It's ok but I prefer cereals to cooked food so can only choose a little from menu

fantastic value for money . Very friendly service and welcoming

easy peasy to find . Heaps of parking . very friendly, accommodating staff. Breakfast was very good . I loved the coffee. very clean and tidy. Thank goodness for the blackout curtains in my room as I had a fantastic night sleep . The trains could keep you awake but they didn’t bother me . Sheets clean , white and crispy

1. no plug sockets near bed 2, WiFi in my room was very very weak to near on zero .

Friendly staff, well run, comfortable inn that’s great value for money. It would be good to have a quiet bathroom extractor that is switched separately from the light.

We’d love to see more non-pub type food on the menu . EG imaginative Mediterranean vegetarian dishes with choices of dressings. It would be good to have a quiet bathroom extractor fan that is switched separately from the fan or a passive extraction vent therein.

A great country pub and inn.

Excellent pub. Good cask conditioned ale, and good food. Nice beer garden and typical country-pub interior.

Some outside table are a bit too close to the septic tank. Main road could be better screened.
