About this apartment rental

Pond Creek Escape is just the place for you to come to relax and escape the hectic city life, but also be close to Athens, home of the University of Georgia with its fine music, sports, shopping and wonderful restaurants. Need suggestions for where to eat or what to do, the owners are full of great ideas for you. There is also a table with local info for you to read and enjoy.

Pond Creek Escape is a basement apartment located on 7 acres, just 8 miles from downtown Athens. The apartment has a private entrance and a parking spot by the door for one or two cars.

Guests can enjoy nature while sitting by the pond or listening to the water fall over the dam to the creek. The best napping spot is on the hammock on the Pond porch right by the dam. Inside guests can enjoy the game room with pool/ping pong table, card/game table, dart board, sectional sofa, and large screen tv. There is a bar/kitchen with a sink, microwave, refrigerator, toaster oven, crock pot, air fryer, waffle maker, and coffee maker.

The main bedroom has a king sized bed, smart tv, and is closest to the big bathroom. The children's room has two twin sized beds, and a really cool play loft. The 3rd bedroom has a full size bed and desk in it. Off the game room area is a sitting room with a full size futon and cabinets which contain board games such as Monopoly, Trivial Pursuit, Scrabble, Blockus, and other games. There are also decks of cards, backgammon, chess, and checkers available.

There is an extra room which includes a chair and a crib. There is one large bathroom with a large walk-in tile shower.

Basic cable and wifi are included in your stay. The wifi password will be given to you upon arrival.

A gas grill will be provided for grilling out, if you desire. Firewood will be provided for a campfire in the fire pit by the pond and a basket of s'more ingredients and marshmallow roasting sticks is provided for each stay.

The entire property has outside Ring security cameras.

My family of four had the most wonderful trip! Our girls (ages 3 and 5) were especially delighted by the toys, the indoor playhouse, and the marshmallows for s’mores. And we were all thrilled by the pool table, the walking trails, the hammock by the pond’s waterfall, and the spacious rooms. Our hosts even offered to light the firepit for us — great stay all around!

Great house just outside Athens. Quiet beautiful property that is an easy drive or inexpensive Uber ride into town. You may find it hard to leave with all there is to do at the house. We cant wait to stay there again.

Such an inviting place to stay! The location was a short drive from downtown Athens. We had everything we needed for a fun weekend surrounding our son's graduation from UGA.

We scheduled this stay to correspond to UGA's graduation. It worked out perfectly. The host was easy to work with. We grilled out, played pool and enjoyed sitting by the pond. Though 6 miles out of town we were able to Uber to and from with no issues.

We needed a place to visit with our son while he was in town and our home was being renovated. It was a very clean, cozy and comfortable space. Conveniently located between our home and the town of Athens. We initially were surprised it was a basement apartment since I filtered only houses but I did see where it is mentioned further down the listing description. But it had almost everything we needed to have a great week. I could see this space being perfect for a bigger family gathering. Very nice property and the hosts were very friendly and helpful.

This place is a nice getaway from the craziness of downtown Athens at a fraction of the cost. You can be in the middle of it all in a matter of minutes. Room to spread out with comfy couches and a great outdoor space we didn't have time to enjoy. Will be staying here again if it's available.

Our boys 1 and 3 really enjoyed the space. We loved the back patio and pond. I was concerned there would be a lot of bugs but they were not bad at all. So thankful for time with family and a place to enjoy with them

We were in town for my daughters graduation from UGA. Only 10-15 minutes from downtown Athens. Property my was peaceful and quiet. Nice deck and fire pit by a pond with a small waterfall. Inside was perfect with lots of games. Hosts were great. Perfect communication before and during our stay. Highly recommend!!!

We rented this place to go to Road Alanta to watch the races. We had to drag the boys out to go to the track cause they wanted to stay here . Miss Jeanine was super helpful even letting us borrow some of her own stuff because we had came unprepared (1st time at Road Atlanta) the boys loved the place and loved the shower and the couch. We really didn’t get the use all the amenities that they provide. But I loved drinking my coffee by the pond in the mornings. Don’t hesitate to stay her clean nice place with wonderful people that own it

Loved this house but the back yard really was the treat! Amazing pond that had ample space to hang out and be by the fire or trails to go into the woods. The rooms were big and the tv room was great! Everything you really need for a few nights. Hosts were sweet as can be and very knowledgeable about the surrounding areas. Also close enough to town to be able to enjoy Athens but also close enough to great natural parks to enjoy hikes. Will stay here again for sure!

This was a wonderful VRBO experience! The owners were incredibly nice and accommodating. Beautiful and peaceful surroundings with fishing and fire pit. The s’mores were a huge hit with the kids. The adults showed off rusty pool table skills while the kids learned how to shoot pool for the first time. Everything we needed or didn’t even realize we needed was provided. We will be back. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

This has been my favorite rental of all time. The accommodations were spacious and we could really spread out, super comfortable couch, too. I loved the backyard deck area-it was so lovely with strings of lights, and Charles even made a fire for us so we could make s’mores! Jeanine was helpful with answering all my questions. There were so many nice touches, and I would happily stay again should my travels ever bring me back to Athens. And even though we were just renting the space, the owners made us feel like guests. Such a lovely experience!
