About this apartment rental
This beautiful two-bedroom and two-bathroom apartment is located in the heart of Madrid, on the exclusive Huertas Street.
Entering the apartment we find a beautiful hall form where we access to the corridor that distributes the apartment. On the left is the area corresponding to the main bedroom, composed of a small living room with TV and sofa bed, and the bedroom, with two single beds and a beautiful bathroom en suite with bathtube, wide and elegant.
Going back to the corridor, on the right, we access to the second bedroom with a double bed and another complete bathroom en suite with shower. The kitchen is the next space that we find and is totally equipped with all necessary, in addition is completely independent.
At the end of the corridor we find a beautiful desing living room, really wide, with living area and dining area. It’s exterior, the façade overlooking Huertas street. The height of the balconies and the windows provide it with plenty of natural light.
The placement of the apartment is magnificent, just in the city centre.
** For monthly stays, water and electricity supplies will be included up to a maximum of € 100 per month. If the expenses are higher, the guest will have to pay the difference. The corresponding invoice will be sent by the accommodation to the guest to verify the expenses**.

Exceptional apartment with great location, private suites, comfortable living spaces, and responsive host. Highly recommend for a stay in Madrid!

Good and quiet location in the great Las Huertas street.
Supermarket, bars and restaurants nearby.
Huge apartment. Very comfortable for all of us.
Nice thick and BIG towels
One drawback is that the AC was a little weak on the back room.

The apartment is exceptional - it has two separate suites that are both very private and a large, comfortable living room and dining room. The location is ideal - out the door are markets, cafes, bars, etc. Anything for food or drink you can find within a few blocks walking distance. About 3/4 of a mile walk is the Puerta del Sol and the metro station so easy to hop onto metro if needed! The host was very quick to respond, provided clear instructions for check in and was available to meet when we arrived. Highly recommend for a stay in Madrid!

Beautiful apartment. Great location.

The property is in a great location. Bedroom on the west side was prone to noise from the stairs and upstairs apartment making it difficult to sleep at night. For a 5-night stay, only 5 towels provided, and toiletries were not sufficient. Stains from previous stays were evident in the sofas and cushions. Deep steam cleaning is necessary for sanitation safety.

We stopped in Madrid did a few days before a wedding .
The location of the apartment is perfect - a short walk to the Prado. Botanical Gardens etc. The neighborhood is charming with lovely little cafes serving excellent food
The apartment was spotless and ideal for two couples - with two en suite bedrooms

Great vacation in Madrid !
We had a great stay in this property! The property was in a great location, with many restaurants and bars nearby. We were close to many of Madrids must see sites. Check in was smooth and fast. Property although as pictured it was weathered the storm of many visitors. Some updates are needed but that will not ruin any ones vacation. More towels are needed but the kitchen is well appointed and the washer was a plus. There is no dryer but with the heat, clothes dried within a couple hours

Fabulous apartment in best barrio of Madrid
This apartment is fabulous in design and space! in the best area of Madrid, barrio de las letras, with tapas bars, cocktail bars, churros cafes, super market, kids playgrounds, museums, boutique shops, galleries, retiro park, history and fun all at your doorstep.

Great location, lots of privacy
The apartment is very well suited for two couples with the bedrooms, each with a bath, at opposite ends of the apartment, this allowing plenty of privacy. The location is great. The street below is noisy but only if one sits in the living room - we had no problem in the bedrooms. The kitchen is reasonably well equipped and the apartment is very spacious and clean. Checking was easy and prompt and any questions we had during our stay were answered quickly via text messages. The property could use a little loving care but generally speaking our stay was very pleasant and we would happily stay there again.

Fantastic location, very spacious and warm.
We stayed here as a family of three in early February. I had booked the apartment hoping to experience the Spanish way of life and live for a few days on a typical Spanish street, this place fitted the bill. Although previous reviews say it can be a little noisy, this did not bother us at all. All you hear is the hussle and bustle of people going about their daily business, the rooms are at the rear so it didn't affect our sleep. The apartment is centrally located only 3 mins walk to the Prado and 5-10 mins walk to Plaza Mayor. There are plenty of restaurants, bars and bakeries near by, you are spoilt for choice. We had a minor issue whilst there which meant we had to contact the management. They were very quick to respond and made sure their assistance resolved our problem. If we were ever to return to Madrid I would not hesitate to return to this property.

Great location and met all expectations!!!
I stayed here with my mother the last week of November 2018. The location is really great and within walking distance of everything imaginable. The property management team met us as scheduled when we arrived, gave us keys, showed us how everything worked, and we had a wonderful few days as a result. I had read all the prior reviews about the noise on Calle De Huertas, and yes, if you are in the main living room you can hear people late into the night as they walk past, but it is a big city and densely populated-so you are trading location for lots of people around at night. It was very safe and I didn't think the noise was a big deal at all-from the bedrooms you can't hear much-they are tucked in the interior back part of the apartment. I would definitely stay here again!!!!

Large 2 Bedroom Apartment in Outstanding Location
We rented the 2-bedroom apartment because we were two couples traveling together. The location of the apartment was perfect. We walked everywhere from the close-by Prado Museum and Parc Retiro, as well as Plaza Mayor and the Palacio Real. The apartment is close to the Atocha train station. As we arrived in Madrid before the check-in time, we used the locked luggage facility in the Atocha station to store our luggage so that we could walk around Madrid, including walking past the apartment building before checking-in. We walked to Atocha both for a day trip to Toledo and when we left by train to Cordoba. There are two nicely separated bedrooms, each with a private bathroom and a very large common space. The bedrooms are set back from Huertas Street and were very quiet. We enjoyed our stay in the apartment.
With all the pluses, we encountered a few maintenance and housekeeping issues. In the second back bedroom the toilet leaked, and the basin was plugged. In the front bathroom the shower head leaked. On check-in there were small pillow cases on the king-size pillows in the second bedroom, but we found other linens in the front bedroom closet. There were no light blankets and only one small kitchen dishtowel. The mattresses in the back bedroom could be better.

This apartment is in a wonderful location in Madrid. Two couples stayed here for 3 nights in late Sept 2018. We were met at the apartment by Danny via cell phone contact. He gave us good information about how to operate the various AC units, door locks, etc and were the market was located. We had more than adequate bedding, towels and small bottles of bath soap and shampoo, kitchen was well stocked with kitchenware. We loved the location, we were able to easily walk to the Royal Palace, the Prado Museum and to the Parque Del El Retiro. We dined at a number of Tapas restaurants near by and the super market is only a few steps away with everything you might need for your stay. Oh and a yummy pastry shop next door. Lots of fun shopping on the various streets, you just need to explore.Yes, the street is somewhat busy on the weekends but the noise is contained in the living room which has windows to the street. No noise in either bedroom at night, we slept fine. There are a couple of maintenance items that should be addressed. A leaky toilet in back bedroom needs to be fixed. The apt needs more hooks and usable drawers for hanging, storing clothes. One surprise, we had was that the wash machine does not also dry your clothes...there is a clothes rack outside the window of the back bathroom and we discovered. We really enjoyed the stay in spite of these minor items. I hope you will too!

Our first issue was with the customer service that we received upon arrival. We had a late arrival and initially they said it would be one amount, and then they said it would be a lower amount. Then they reverted back to the higher amount at arrival. The person that met us was quite rude and argumentative when we pointed out that they said the amount would be lower. It's unacceptable to have that kind of an interaction with a customer. They tried to "investigate" the issue but only made excuses for their team member's behavior. We were in Barcelona at another homeaway and not only did they NOT charge us for the late arrival, they pretty much gave us an extra Day by allowing us to stay late due to a late train we were taking. The second issue and probably MOST important is the MOLD on the Living room wall and the water leaking in the Bedroom Bathroom. We have a small child and kept her out of the living room and had to manage anytime she was in the Apartment. Until this MOLD damage is fixed, I would encourage the owner to shut down any additional requests for booking. I also pointed this out to the management company, and they did not see it fit to make any remuneration for the awful experience we had in any way.

I'm going to try to be fair in my review, so:
Location - 5/5 stars
Space and Confort - 4.5/5
Bathroom Cleanliness - 3/5 (They have to do a better job especially in the small bathroom)
General Cleanliness - 4/5 (It's time to change the pillows and check the towels)
Kitchen - 4.5/5
Apto Maintenance - 3.9/5 (They have to take care of a lot of details inside the apto.)
They have a really good and convince photos on their advertisement but they don't reflect the real condition. It could be a really nice apartment is they decide to do a better job keeping the apartment in good condition, as is shown in the photos.
I'm not going to post my photos because I believe they deserve a chance to fix everything and give the people what they offer. Tha apartment is a gem that just need is care. Overall the staff is friendly and diligent.

Great Location. Felt comfortable and the apartment was clean and spacious

Great location, close to museums.
We enjoyed our stay. It was close to El Prado and Museo Reina Sofia. The street in front of the apt. is a popular pedestrian street so it is nice, but can be loud. Bedrooms are further away from street so noise was not a problem. We enjoyed having a market close by and had a couple of great dinners at Taberna El Sur de Huertas which was a few blocks away. I would just point out there are a flight of stairs to get to apartment so if you have a lot of luggage it can be a little of a challenge. Overall, great service from the management company. They were good to call and check on our arrival time since we were driving into Madrid and call us during our stay to make sure everything was well.

Great location for a Madrid stay
This flat on Calle de las Huertas, near the intersection with Calle de Jesus, has a lot to recommend it. Spacious and perfect for two couples with bedrooms separated and each with an ensuite bath. The back twin-bedded bedroom is large with a small sitting area (we used the sofa there for our suitcases as there are no drawers, just an armoire) and an excellent bathroom. The other bedroom is cozy with a small bathroom and a built in closet. We enjoyed the active and somewhat noisy experience of being on pedestrianised Huertas; others might not. With the living room French doors open from early evening, it is hard to hear music or the TV (note: Spanish stations only). We were disappointed by some things that needed attention (only 1 lamp of five in the large nicely furnished lv rm was working) and by a lack of supplies and information (one dish towel for six nights, tiny little soaps, skimpy kitchen cleaning up items and most importantly, a complete lack of written information such as emergency numbers, local suggestions, etc). We did appreciate Genteel Home’s response to our call and we hope that in future, others will find the flat better equipped. If you want to try tapas and visit the three big art museums, you can’t beat the location. We loved Casa Alberto up Huertas and Maceiras just across the street. Just do your own research and bring your own guidebook.

Perfect location in Madrid
The apartment was wonderful, with two complete suites and a large, comfortable living/dining room. Balconies overlook the walking street below, and there’s a terrific bakery around the corner. Bedrooms are quiet, since they’re in the back of the apartment, and the kitchen had everything we needed. We felt like locals, living two blocks from the Prado. Loved it!

Location was great, apartment was clean and spacious, ideal for 2 couples

Convenient location, not able to use internet
The apartment was clean, spacious and in a central location. The rooms were far apart from each other with there own ensuite bathroom. The room across from the kitchen was smaller and more cozy while the 2nd bedroom was basically in it's own little wing. It had two twin beds, was larger with more room to move around, and a glass wall which separated it from the bathroom. It takes a while for the water to drain when you take a shower which can be annoying as you're standing in water for the first 2-5 minutes of your shower. Many of the major sites were no more than a 15-20 min walk (the Prado, Sofia Reina, Royal Palace, Plaza Major, Opera House, the Parks, etc). This apartment is on a busy little street of restaurants and shops which can make it a bit challenging if you have a hard time falling asleep as you hear people talking, the street sweepers, trash bins getting moved and the opening and closing of the store front shutters. Lucky for us, were pretty sound sleepers and prefer being conveniently located to stores, restaurants and shops, so we didn't mind the noise.
Overall, the Genteel-Home management team were quick to respond to questions and queries, however we were disappointed that after booking how inflexible it was to change our arrival date even with 2-3 weeks notice due to our inability to find train tickets. Also, as it was the end of the month, all the data had been used up and we were unable to do searches or get on to the internet. This posed a problem for our ability to work, and we had to go to other places to check tour times, send emails and download tickets and information on places we wanted to see. Genteel-Home, did contact us, but said they were unable to find the owner of the apartment; while nice that they were trying, it did not get resolved during our stay nor did they apologize for the inconvenience. This unresolved issue definitely coloured our view of our stay at this apartment as we chose places based on the criteria of it being wi-fi accessible so we could do our work.
Lastly, we would suggest that a binder be put together with a map of the location, instructions on how to run the washer and dishwasher, metro/tram locations and any other helpful insights about Madrid. Other apartments we have stayed at have all provided such information and it makes for an easier time to orient to a new city and the apartment.

Excellent location, nice and large, clean, well stocked.
We had two couples and the arrangements were perfect for us. The only drawbacks were very minor - hot/cold water mixer faucet in one bathroom was broken so you had to turn the hot water on and off from underneath. The toaster didn't work. A piece of molding needed to be replaced on the bathroom door. None of these things bothered us much as everything else was as advertised or better.

Excellent apartment near museums and Retiro
This is a beautifully furnished and very large apartment that is fully equipped. The street is busy and can be quite noisy at times, but the bedrooms are very quiet. The contract person was great, patiently waiting as our plane was delayed. I look forward to returning.

Great location in Madrid
Overall we enjoyed our stay in Madrid very much. The apartment was in an excellent location....close to Prado Museum, Retiro Park and the train station. Best of all it is located in the heart of a great tapas area. We visited a different tapas restaurant each night. There is noise from the street but we enjoyed it since we felt right in the action. Very safe area with a police station right on the street. A great little pastry cafe is right outside the door as well as two small grocery stores. The apartment was spacious and well equipped. The bedrooms are quiet with a bath attached to each. The front bathroom is in the need of some maintenance work but the rear one was fine. Overall a good stay.

Beautiful, convenient and very comfortable.
A lovely apartment in a very convenient location. The apartment is spacious and clean. The property managers were easy to work with and very accommodating. Steps away from restaurants, cafes and markets make for an effortless vacation. The energy of the street and vitality of Madrid come to life when you open the living room windows.
Highly recommend this apartment.
