A Great Riverbend Escape has a nature trail 1/4 mile hike to the river to picnic, fish or just watch the world go by to relax--or you can drive to the river. If you are adventurous bring your own kayak/canoe/life vests and drive it to the river to put in and cruise down the scenic Little Tennessee River. This Property is located 3.5 miles from Downtown Franklin and is an official Appalachian Trail-friendly destination. The Franklin area is rich in gems and minerals and is known locally as the "Gem Capital of The World"; gem mine is located 2 miles away. Close to Nantahala Outdoor center for rafting and zip lines. Close to town but feels like you are in the Nantahala National Forest. This property is an excellent find. Everything was as advertised. The location was quiet but convenient for many of the activities in the area. Our family had a great stay. We just wish we had more time off for this vacation!

Oh my gosh such a beautiful place. My husband stated that he thought the home was modern rustic. We came to visit the Whistle stop, which we did and had such beautiful accommodations when we got backe the this house. House was Uber clean and the Host was wonderful. She checked on us during our drive up from the Augusta area to make sure that we made it safely or if we needed any extra help with the directions. The directions she gave were spot on and place was easily found. She has a prepared notebook for set up and leaving instructions that were easy to follow. We all had a great time and will share the VRBO with family and friends. Thank you Cherisse, for a comfortable place for us to lay our heads.

My family and I had an amazing time, and the cabin was everything we could have asked for. It was clean, comfy, and private. Yet, it was close enough to downtown Franklin and many of the natural attractions. Cherisse was a wonderful host, who communicates very clearly, and answers any questions. I highly recommend this place, and look forward to coming back soon.

The lovely 3-2 house as just perfect for my stay. It was located near my the place I needed to be. The owner was very organized and the house was immaculate. I would highly recommend this home.

We enjoyed our stay! It was a nice home at an affordable price. As a heads up to future guests, I would like to add that our GPS took us to the wrong location but when we called Cherisse she stayed on the phone with us until we arrived at the right house. If you are staying here, I would definitely recommend following the directions sent via email ahead of time rather than depending on GPS. The GPS took us down a very rough dirt road that did not appear to be the best area to be in. Cherisse checked on us after the arrived to make sure that everything was good and was available when we called the next day to ask a quick question. The only recommendation I would make would be to add Wi-Fi service. We appreciated that we were not charged a cleaning fee. Thanks Cherisse for opening your home to us!

The house looked small from the outside but was impressed with the inside. We were there to hike on the Appalachian Trail and this house was located just a little away from what i wanted but it worked out ok. We didn't spend any time outside since it was cold but the location was quiet. Overall it was a great stay.

We needed a place to stay for the weekend that had 3 bedrooms. This location was the perfect size and only 13 minute drive from where we spending our days. The leaves were starting to change which was nice.

Cherisse was kind enough to leave the lights on for us for our anticipated late arrival. The home was immaculate. The home is located in a very quiet neighborhood. Cherisse left us a bottle of honey as a gift, which was so fun and thoughtful. I appreciated her prompt communication and the attention to detail in her notebook. She does not have wi-fi but we were able to use our mobile hot spot, so our son could do his homework. The next door neighbor was very helpful with sharing directions to the river and to see waterfalls in the area, which were spectacular!! Would highly recommend this stay.

The house is perfect for a small family that want to just get away into a quiet secluded place. Cherisse is a perfect hostess. She makes sure that everything is as it should be, but quietly stays away unless needed. The home is well equipped with all the essentials and then some. The area has a lot of things to do for the family or just the adults. Rate this one A-! plus.

Great communication with the property owner. Super awesome clean and comfortable. Took the family this time next time it'll be a excellent getaway for me and the wife. The owners were super helpful when they saw it may be dark before we arrived she offered to go turn some lights on. Definitely on my favorites list.

Nice clean home in a quiet neighborhood minutes from anywhere in Franklin. No issues whatsoever, other than maybe that there is construction going on along the nature trail to the river, so the trail is muddy and ugly at the moment.

Cherisse was an excellent host and so easy to reach…she gave us excellent suggestions and was very quick to answer any questions. The house was squeaky clean and was exactly as described. In the listing she listed no ice maker but there were ice trays. She went the extra mile and had a full bin of ice already out of the trays and every tray had been refilled. Thank you Cherisse!! Oh, and the location is very convenient to downtown!

This house is spotless, well above average clean! As soon as you open the front door the pleasant scent of cleanliness greets you, the decor is nice the furniture comfortable. Washer and dryer are fast, the appliances in the kitchen clean and ready to use. We had no problem finding the house, communication with the owner was easy and everything worked as it should. We had good cell service the entire time, and the satellite worked the entire time. We will definitely stay here next time. Thanks Cherisse for everything, we had the best time!

Such a nice little place for our family of 5, and perfect for little ones! With all there is to do around town and near by, it was the perfect location in between. We were even more pleased by how clean the home was (since that isn’t always the case) but this one was wonderful! We will be back to enjoy another stay soon :)
