Unresponsive and unreliable

Check in was supposed to be at 13 hour but the owner told us he wasn’t available until 16 hour He didn’t show up and we gave up on him at 16:30

Charming house and a very charming hostess

Fresh bread and croissants with homemade preserves-and fresh fruit. I think Francoise would have made eggs for us if we had asked

Outstanding location. Free but distant parking.

The location could not be better, overlooking the cathedral and Toulouse-Lautrec museum. Room is small but comfortable, with private bathroom immediately across the hall. Free parking is indeed available but the large lot can be close to full, and it's a brisk 500 m uphill walk back to the room. You should be aware the listing offers a bedroom and bathroom and that's what you get. We paid 56€ for 2 people, no breakfast, in mid-March Although it's an expansive penthouse, there are no common areas open to guests. Breakfast is served in a nice room but we didn't opt for it. We booked at the last minute and the owner was occupied, so she sent us away for a few hours until she was ready for us. Being allowed to wait in a common area would have made this a trivial inconvenience but we had to occupy ourselves elsewhere.

Do not book this room for avoiding the problems with the owner despite its very good location.

The location is very central with access to attractions. The room was clean and proper.

Hash problems with the owner. At the beginning, we arrived round 11 pm and the owner started to complain for the late hour arrival despite our apologies for the inconvenience. We booked the room without breakfast but the owner tried to convince us to buy the breakfast despite that the contract did not foreseen it. We asked the owner the check out time and he told us normally it should be 11 am, but the day after we could leave at the hour of our preference because the room was not booked for the day after. Following his instruction, we decided to leave the room at 6 pm, but at our return to the room, he locked the room with our belongings inside. After having reached the owner, he told us with rage and strong verbal statement and bad words we should have left the room at 11 am. This was in contrast with what we agreed the night before. He also stated that he has called us three or four times but we did not receive this call. For retrieving our luggage, he obliged us to give him 65 Euros (62 Euro for one night plus 3 Euro city tax) by cash without any ticket or receipt !!! After giving him the money, we retrieve our luggage and we left. The shutters cannot be closed properly, the window is single layer and the room was very noisy. Be careful the parking for cars is not allocated, but it is a common parking of the town (not safeguarded). Despite the perfect location and the reasonable price, we strongly discourage to book this room for avoiding problems with the owner and paying extra money without receipt.

Exceptional view on Sainte Cécile in Albi

The location of Elvire's room is ideal, with its direct view on Sainte Cécile's stunning cathedral. When waking up in the middle of the night, seeing the cathedral through the open blinds makes the location exceptional. The superb view can also be admired from the tenants' terrace, which constitutes a perfect reason for chosing to have breakfast here. Moreover, the croissants and jams are very good.

The view from the room is exceptional : directly onto Albi's cathedral. The room is spacious, comfortable and tidy : more than enough for one to two people. The hosts are available and have good conversation in French only.

Not many hygiene products were at disposal : make sure to bring your own shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The breakfast was a bit pricy (9€) but it was of good quality

Just right for what we were seeking.

We had a very nice breakfast on the balcony overlooking the cathedral. The room was was perfectly located for what we wanted which was to visit the cathedral and the Berbie palace/Toulouse-Latrec museum. We were surprised by how lovely Albi was.

I did not read the description closely enough and I did not realize the room was located inside our Host's home. The room and bathroom across the hall was fine and our host was very helpful and gracious so it was not a problem, just a surprise.

Wonderful city, wonderful home-stay, wonderful hosts.

You can't find a room closer to the middle of town than this one. It's a home stay (not a hotel) with a nice couple. The room looks directly out to the chevet of the Albi cathedral. No TV to distract you. Good internet connection (that's turned off late each night till the next morning). Breakfast is served on delicate china in their rooftop atrium. Nice cafe just outside the building's door. (Kitchen closes at 3pm so be sure to order everything by 2:30) Hosts were very kind and spoke a little english. There is free city parking, about a five minute walk, in the Cathedral parking lot (lower levels). If you can't find a free space, take a paid space in the upper levels until one of the free ones opens up.

I had a hard time finding the place (and the parking) when I arrived. Since it's not a hotel, there is no hotel sign. You must look for a door with the house number 5, then ring the intercom for M. Elvire who will come down to meet you.

The perfect location, in front of the cathedral and the Toulouse Lautrec museum, in the heart of the old town. No headache to park. The breakfast on the balcony. The host was exceptionally courteous and welcoming.

We both enjoyed the room, the private bath, and especially the gracious hosts. We appreciated the art books in the room. The views from the breakfast table and also the room itself were superb. We very much enjoyed our stay and would certainly stay here again. Being in the very center of town and near the Toulouse-Lautrec museum and the cathedral (as well as two terrific restaurants) was much appreciated. A complete pleasure.
