We loved the apartment. Very clean, very comfortable couches and beds. Nice big balcony overlooking the city plus the river in the view. Great area for walking anywhere, plus just a couple blocks from the Train.

Faro was the third and final stop on our visit to Portugal. Our host Ivan has made the check in process easy. There were two surprises on arrival; the large number of stairs and one of the bathrooms being on a different floor than the bedroom. Other than these surprises the property was clean and the view was spectacular. This property was in a great location and made it easy for our team to explore the Algarve coast with the train station in walking distance. Thanks to Ivan for being a good host. Archie and team

My husband and I, couldn’t check in until 2hrs past checking time. Once we found the correct apartment we had a hard time opening the door because the cleaning lady had her key inside the latch. Once she let us in, we were welcome with smell of cigarettes. The carpet in the living room was not clean, I guess she didn’t get enough time to clean the whole apartment. I have booked with VRBO quite often and never had an unpleasant experience like this one. This apartment was my third booking with VRBO, in the past week . How ever, it was the first worst experience out of all my entire bookings.

Lovely clean property,very central to bus/train station in Faro and 5min walk to centre.Ivan was a good host who replied quickly to queries,3rd floor apartment,very quiet,would happily recommend.

Apartment is 2 blocks to the old city, but not the best neighborhood with a few questionable folks hanging around.

When we arrived at the apartment we were very dismayed by the neighborhood. I felt unsafe immediately. The apartment was advertised to include parking, but there wasn't any. The ‘greeter’ suggested we try to find a place to park several blocks away. When I told the greeter it was unlikely we would stay in the apartment, she would not check us in. She said it appears you are very unhappy and if you're not going to stay here I'm not going to check you in. We had already paid for the apartment in-full!! but she would not check us in if we weren't sure we were going to stay in the apartment. I tried to reach the owner but was not able to make contact. Later that evening I was able to reach him. He accused me of being rude to his greeter and that she wasn’t just going to give me the keys because I demanded them. I assured him this was not the case. We had to scramble to find somewhere else to stay. We ended spending the next 4 nights at Marriott's Pine Cliff's Resort in Albufieria, which was very nice and comfortable. After we checked in at Pine Cliff's, I reviewed the photos I had taken outside the apartment and noticed that part of the conversation with the greeter outside in front of the apartment had been recorded on my Iphone. During my conversation with the greeter outside the apartment, I started taking photos of the area and lack of parking and at some point during the process the IPhone slid over to video and recorded part of the conversation. It was clear I had not been the rude person and that I had tried to check in and give her my passport but she was not going to let me check in. I said I have already paid in-full and what did it matter whether or not I stayed there. She said NO, then left. I sent the video to the owner to prove my side of the story. I’m out over $400, but I’ve learned a lesson. Do a thorough search of the neighborhood before committing to a rental. The entire area was very run down abandoned silos and warehouses nearby. Not a place I would ever stay had I known better. I’m glad I have the recording buts it’s done me little good.
