The villa is located in a green setting with a panoramic sea view, ideal for two couples or a family. An infinity pool that is one with the sea is its strong point.
It consists of an indoor living room and covered outdoor dining room. Two air-conditioned bedrooms and their private bathroom. American kitchen with terrace and sea view.

We stayed at the villa in early July 2022. Martine met us at the villa and showed us around, explaining how everything worked. The villa and the view was beautiful. An unexpected surprise were all the local birds (not a worry as they were tiny and beautiful). They were very familiar with the kitchen and trying to find food scraps from the kids!
We enjoyed multiple swims in the pool just gazing at the ocean. The temperature was perfect. The one small issue we had was our kids had a bad reaction to the pool water, with a rash developing all over. Perhaps it had just been shocked with chlorine? It would not stop us from returning though, it was still a wonderful and relaxing week.
The location makes you feel right in the rainforest with beautiful plants surrounding you. The drive up is on small and curvy roads, which tested my partners ability to do hill starts using a gear shift!
The only thing that would have made it better would perhaps be a ceiling fan in the outdoor areas and mosquito nets in both bedrooms (there was only one in the kids room).
Overall the holiday made us want to return again every summer.

Spectacular view and peaceful surroundings
Martine was super helpful and very welcoming, we found the property to be clean and well equipped. The infinity pool is superb and the decor is very inviting. We would recommend and definitely come back again.

UNE LOCALISATION EXCEPTIONNELLE
Notre séjour fut exceptionnel et malgré les restrictions (pas de restaurants limitation des 5 kms) nous avons très bien profité de l'environnement, la maison est confortable et sa situation géographique est magique.
Si je peux me permettre je mentionnerais que les matelas des transats sont vieillissant et le matelas du lit serait à changer mais sinon on y reviendra avec grand plaisir.
La propriétaire était à l'écoute et n'a pas hésité à savoir si tout se passait bien pour nous malgré ses vacances en métropole.

Accès et accueil très simple avec un bon suivi des propriétaires.
Un bemol sur le nettoyage et le désinfection de la machine à laver signalé au propriétaire mais nous avons fait le nécessaire.

Amazing Villa with a View that will “knock your socks off”!
My wife and I spent two weeks in Martine’s villa in Deshais. The villa is even better than the photos can describe. The furnishings and the accessories are superb One is able to cook because she has provided all the essentials including a good oven and cooktop. She even has a dishwasher. Wine glasses and table settings
are also well chosen. Design and decor are well appointed.
The infinity pool with the view is quite spectacular.
We found the best approach to travelling in this area was “ less is more” ! Don’t spend a lot of time driving around the island .The beaches in the area i.e Leroux Cluny and the Grande Anse will satisfy any beach lover. There are some nice restaurants in town including Mahina [ amazing wood oven pizzas] Rayon Verte and also L’Olentik.
Martine is very responsive to your needs but also very discreet in ensuring you enjoy her little Shanghra-la.
We cleaned out a lot of personal cobwebs by spending time contemplating the World while watching the Caribbean sea from our balcony.

Ein Urlaubserlebnis der besonders schönen Art!
Wir waren mit unseren zwei Kindern für 6 Nächte im Haus von Martine. Es liegt wunderbar ruhig mit einem fantastischen Blick auf die Bucht von Deshaies. Von der Terrasse kann man die tollen Sonnenuntergänge mit einem schönen Aperitiv genießen. Das Haus selbst ist sehr gepflegt, verfügt über zwei Schlafzimmer mit jeweils zwei Bädern. Die moderne Küche ist vollständig ausgestattet. Wir haben diese allerdings nur einmal benutzt da es im direktem Umfeld zahlreiche sehr gute Restaurants gibt. Martine ist eine bezaubernde Gastgeberin, hat sich um alles gekümmert und antwortet auf Mails und Anrufe sofort. Insgesamt eine wundervolle Urlaubserfahrung mit absolut verdienter voller Punktzahl. Eine uneingeschränkte Empfehlung ohne wenn und aber!

Entspannung und karibisches Feeling pur
Wir (2 Ehepaare) haben uns im Haus sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Haus war sehr komfortabel und komplett ausgestattet. Die Aussicht ist einfach fantastisch! Eigentlich wollten wir nicht mehr nach Hause gehen. Vielen Dank an Martine für diesen schönen Urlaub. Am liebsten morgen wieder.

Stunning view and gorgeous villa, especially the fabulous outdoor space and the view of the bay.
We were thrilled every morning by the view from the beautiful wooden deck, out to the bay at Deshaies and beyond to Montserrat in the distance. We loved cooling off in the clean, clear little pool while gazing out at the cliff above the town. The villa was adequately equipped, comfortable, and clean. Be sure to arrive with basic essentials such as soap, bottled water, and toilet paper. The kitchen is small but absolutely fine for preparing meals, which we enjoyed eating on the deck. The outdoor space is just fantastic here — a very comfortable outdoor “living room,” covered and protected from both tropical sun and downpours. Plenty of space for sunbathing as well in four comfortable deck lounges. Easy access to town and beaches (Grande Anse and Cluny) to the north and to good diving and snorkeling at the Cousteau Reserve off Pigeon Island to the south. We loved this home base on Basse Terre and did not want to leave. Best speak French.

Adjacent to the charming bourg of Deshaies, close to a handful of pristine beaches, a national park and a zoo. Plus, the owner, Martine, was quite responsive when we emailed her,questions during our stay. Highly recommend!

Juste parfait !
Martine est une propriétaire absolument adorable et particulièrement arrangeante. La maison est exceptionnellement située. Vue à couper le souffle, le matin, la journée, le soir. Nous étions 3 mais maison idéale pour une famille avec deux enfants.

Le confort, la vue, le calme et la gentillesse de Martine
Cette villa répond parfaitement aux besoins de gens qui, comme nous, fuient l'hiver québécois pour quelques jours. La vue est spectaculaire, la piscine rafraîchissante et le calme est étonnant compte tenu la présence de voisins tout autour (mais invisibles). La maison est bien équipée. Nous aurions aimé toutefois que les chambres soient équipées de moustiquaires (la nuit, les moustiques s'en donnent à coeur joie). Le village de Deshaies est absolument charmant et on y trouve tous les services nécessaires. Les plages des alentours sont belles et pas trop achalandées. Un marché de poissons dans le village de Baillargent, juste à côté, nous a permis de nous régaler de poissons frais. Une adresse à retenir. Une propriétaire serviable, attentive et soucieuse du confort de ses clients.

Spectacular View
We spent seven wonderful days at Pelican Lodge. The view and the pool really make this place. Out of all the villas on the hillside, this really has the best view. Being sailors we very much enjoyed watching the boats coming and leaving the snug harbor of Deshaies. The house is very comfortable and well laid out. The kitchen is well equipped, we enjoyed preparing meals and dinning out under the stars on the deck. The pool lights at night are really dazzling as change color. The house has a very open feel, but offers great protection from sun and showers when needed. The location was perfect for us. It's a five minute drive down into the picturesque village of Deshaies which has lots of restaurants, bars, shops and a great bakery There are a number of beautiful beaches a short drive away in either direction. There's a large supermarket, Super U, located about 15 minutes away in Sainte Rose. The owner was a pleasure to meet, everything was handled very smoothly and cordially. Our only regrets is that we didn't book Pelican Lodge for two weeks!

We loved the outdoor space, beautiful little birds visiting us on the terrace in the morning, a quick dip in the pool with a spectacular view. All made for a relaxing holiday. In the light of Zika etc I would suggest nets over the bed and then the waking up with the doors to the veranda open would be real bliss.

Wonderful 5 days in Deshaies
There is a real 'wow factor' when you enter the property. The pool and the view over the bay are spectacular and you instantly feel you are in a special place. We spent a lot of our time relaxing in the outdoor area by the pool. The bedrooms, kitchen and bathrooms have everything you need and are clean and tidy. Deshaies is a nice little town with restaurants and small shops. Its about 4 or 5 minutes drive down a hill. The owners were very friendly, glamorous and extremely helpful. It was a pleasure to meet them and we are very grateful that they allowed us to rent their property. We had a wonderful time.
