Room had 3 large double beds for 3 people, bathroom also had a bath, pool area is really nice and sociable, food is also really good

Room was uncomfortably hot, air con only reached one of the beds and fan wouldn’t rotate. Bathroom was even hotter than the room so not great

Great value for money, a good Mad Monkey experience with lovely staff

The staff are so friendly and are great at getting everyone involved with whatever activities are on from day-to-day. The hostel itself is great value for money, nice and modern especially with 2 lovely pools that get a lot of sun during the day. It’s also great that you can book tours / transport easily and directly though the hostel.

Our room unfortunately had a broken AC on the first night, and didn’t get fixed until later in the evening the next day so the room was really hot. Also the curtains on the bunk beds in the dorms don’t close all the way so you don’t get full privacy like in some other hostel dorms.

The location was excellent, an easy 10min walk into the centre but it felt quiet enough that you weren't in the hustle and bustle (easy walking distance to Pub street but not kept awake all night by it...!). Airport transfer service was great, it was nice to have someone booked for when I arrived, the price is also very reasonable. The food and general pool bar service was great, staff are really friendly, knowledgeable and always available. The private room was comfortable and clean. Plenty of storage space and a very large, comfy bed. The guided visit of Angkor Wat was really worthwhile. Everything ran smoothly and our guide was lovely :) Coming and going was really easy and my belongings felt safe in my room + when I left them in the hall area after I had checked-out. The pool is fantastic, a real plus of this hostel! Great way to chill out and escape the hot Cambodian sun as well as to meet new people. WiFi was really good.

It isn't a quiet hostel- not necessarily a bad thing, just important that you go into it knowing this. There are plenty of events going on which means music is played pretty late. There was a building site behind me which was quite noisy at night (at one point I had to ask reception to ask them to turn the music down which in fairness they did immediately do). Also around the pool, whilst it is lovely it is also very busy and music is played so it isn't the most relaxing spot!

The hostel was close to everything. No elevator so you have to carry your luggages using the stairs.

The location was the best as it was close to everything. They have welcome drinks. I think that the price per night meets the facilities of the hostel. There are a lot of solo travelers here. Very good if you want to interact with different people.

The bar is nice and you don't hear it a lot from the pools at night. The place is close to the pub street.

I asked for a breakfast (yogourt and fruits only) and it took 30 minutes to come even if there where only 5 people in the restaurant. I had to eat it in 5 minutes to go to my tour.

- sometimes there was no cold water (just hot, weird) - towels could be better (smell nicer ;) )

do not get the private rooms, not worth the money and not poolside view like photos

The staff was friendly

Wifi speed is awful, I’m not sure why it is rated a 10. Can’t stream video half the time. Shower temperature is not regulated well and fluctuates between cold and burning hot For individual room save yourself the time and money, go somewhere else. The rooms are NOT poolside view like advertised and the balconies are not even large enough to use. Checked in with original booking, gave me a street view and not poolside like booking advertised. Upgraded to the Superior thinking a balcony by the pool would be nice for the extra price range, surprise surprise..again no poolside and the balcony is not a balcony. It’s a rip off for the value and feel cheated. At this point can’t change reservation and booking needs to hold them accountable for their rooms listing being accurate. At least have poolside and non poolside listed. Water is not provided.

Enriching, Exhilarating, Awe inspiring, Freaky and Educative all at once.

The location of the hostel is central. The crowd is quite young. The whole place has a nice and busy vibe to it. The staff particularly Sayon and Jack were awesome. They explained things and always greeted you with a smile. Met some truly amazing people and made some friends along the way. Easy to get to different markets by walk from the central location of the place. The tours arranged by the hostel, particularly the Pub crawl and the Road 60 were amazing 1st time experiences which I can not even begin to describe.

That there was only 1 Sayon and 1 Jack. We need more such amazing hosts/staff/guides.

I just want to say what a fantastic time I had at the mad monkey hostel lived up to its name. Great food and drinks, Great atmosphere and entertainment, clean rooms and toilets. Although all the staff where fantastic 3 members of staff really stood out and went above and beyond that was Ellie, Jack and Alfie. They made my stay at the mad monkey perfect.

There wasn't anything I didn't like.

the vibes are on point, everyone is there to have a good time. i stayed in a solo room and it was honestly nicer than most hotel rooms I’ve stayed in.

if you’re not into partying, this is not the hostel for you! Loud music until past midnight and everyone gets drunk every night - but if that’s what you’re after, that’s perfect.

Not as good as I hoped

The hostel was clean and the facilities in the common area were good (swimming pool, pool table etc).

I wanted to love this hostel as I was staying over Christmas so chose my hostel carefully but it was a bit of a let down. - They do have a social schedule but it wasn't that well executed in my opinion. If you're someone who finds it very very easy to meet new people then you'll probably like this place regardless but if you're someone who likes meeting new people but just needs good hostel activities/engagement you might find it a bit harder. - Set up of the room is rubbish. Lockers under bed have an opening that is too narrow to fit backpacks/cases into, so both dorm rooms we stayed in were really really messy. Beds don't have a privacy curtain. - Cheap for a dorm bed but everything else is pretty expensive for SEA. $10 pub crawl, $5 beer pong, laundry is twice the price of the place down the street and food portions are small and more expensive than restaurants in the area.

Always good and chain you can trust.

Mad monkey lived up to expectations. Good location, good facilities including 2 pools. Staff always so chatty and up for a beer.

1 Bathroom for 8 people is little difficult. No curtains on bed so not much privacy. Due to storage racks below bottom bunk, can be noisy on bottom bunk when your bunk mate gets something.

Very good

I'll just start off and say that this hostel wasn't for me at all, but on the other hand, that's pretty much my fault, it is advertising as a *party* hostel, I figured you could just kind of ignore that part and use it as a place to crash. DO NOT overestimate the party part, if you're looking for somewhere with a few pools, a bar, friendly staff, young guests (mostly 20's), lots of drinking and loud music, this place is perfect. There will be music up until at midnight (again, they don't hide this in the actual description) so if you fancy a sunrise tour one day, just bring ear plugs Again, it wasn't for me, but that's my own fault for not looking further than the price and a few photos. I didn't enjoy and even I'd rate it highly if that's your sort of thing. Room was clean and big. There was a fridge. The staff were all lovely, friendly, approachable and a good laugh, their English is great too if you mind about that sort of thing. My high rating is based on how I think people looking for this sort of hostel would rate it!

-Looking past that it just wasn't for me, it would have been nice to have a few more toiletries, glasses, coffee and kettle in the room and better soundproofing i suppose, but again that's really not the stated point of the place. -The food at the bar is a little expensive and so are *some* of the drinks, but you're paying for the convenience of not leaving, if you can be bothered there's far cheaper stuff a five min walk away ( if you follow Cherry Apple road down to the main road, at the end on the right is cheap shop with a lovely bunch of people running it).
