I don’t want to tell you how good this place is or we will never be able to book it again. Pictures don’t do it justice. Thank god or we would not have been able to book it! A slice of heaven in pristine nature. Calm, pine trees, lake, wood cabins and private grounds like a hobbits secret cove. The care taker for the estate, Brian, super nice, drive you on a boat across the lake to the private camp. The main log cabin very cozy host a double fireplace to the living room and one to the master’s, as well as a small but super well appointed and well crafted kitchen. Living room as a double day bed as well. Another log cabin host another large bedroom with either 4 single beds or a large bed with 2 singles depending how you ask for it to be set up for you. 2 large bathroom with each a bath are located in independent cabins. The walk from bedroom to cabins can be done without shoes as the ground is a mix of grass, pine needles and moss. It’s like walking on clouds. An extra wood cabin with screen walls host a dining room. We transformed it into an extra bedroom with an inflated mattress: best glamping experience, with a view straight on the lake. Wood pit, little spots to sit here and there, outside eating table, and the giant rocks to jump from (careful only one spot is safe, check well before jumping)… and 2 single and a double kayak. Brian brought an extra canoe for our group to go explore the lake and the small inlets that either are fed by river or feed the river.

We were overwhelmed by how great this place was. We struggled a bit with flooding and being displaced from our normal plans up near Long Lake this year, but we are so glad to have found this place at the last minute when other plans fell through. Regina was great with the communication and Brian went above and beyond to make the whole trip easy for us. In a day we were booked and packing. If you are looking to get away and have some quiet time, then this is your place. It was like camping, but with all the amenities - great kitchen, beds, awesome bathrooms, and the super cool screened in game/eating room. We loved it and hope to be back. Fishing from dock was fun, boating options were amazing, and the quiet was needed and appreciated. We had one rainy day that we spent playing games and enjoying the fireplace and good food, otherwise our days were spent on or in the water. Again, communication was great and the ride over and back went so smoothly. I highly recommend this little jewel. We had a great week.

Quiet lakefront property with something for everyone. Really impressed with the upkeep of the 100 year old buildings. Loved the amenities-record player with a great collection of vinyl, fishing poles and tackle, fully equipped kitchen, great spaces to relax, eat, star-gaze, swim. Enjoyed kayaking and boating the adjacent lakes and rivers. Thank you!

We brought our 7 yr. old grandson to this camp on Utowana Lake. It is one of the prettiest settings we’ve ever seen. This property is only accessible by boat which is somewhat of a inconvenience but the fact that it is so quiet and peaceful there makes up for it. I’d recommend staying here.

Our stay was incredible! The cabins were even better than expected - really well maintained, beautifully decorated, lots of space, even a great selection of books. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking, and in fact you can find basically everything you might need tucked somewhere around (umbrella, fishing rod, firewood, mushroom identification guide, etc). The caretaker was really friendly (and gave us/our stuff a ride across and back). If you're looking for a peaceful lake retreat, this is absolutely recommended.

One of the greatest properties I have ever rented. Despite rain and unusual cold for the summer ,I had a fantastic time at this remote location. The lake was a great temperature for swimming!

Our family had a fantastic experience, from our teenager to our toddler. The main house was cozy for night games and record playing. The kiddos enjoyed the VHS TV in the bunk house and family dinners in the rock room were memorable. We look forward to staying their again.

Very relaxing and comfortable amenities. The caretaker and his dog were great! The fishing was very good. The lake was awesome, great for swimming, kayaking, and power boating! The loons were amazing! The communication with the owners could have been better, particularly when we were trying to iron out specific issues...there was very little response and they were less than pleasant. The bathrooms were very well appointed and in great shape! The new shower was GREATLY appreciated! The screened in "rock" room was another favorite hang out for puzzles and games along with the perfect place for dining! Also enjoyed the sitting deck up on the hill overlooking the lake, it was very relaxing. The kitchen was well stocked and everything worked out well. The record player was very cool and the VHS/VCR worked well for the young teenagers, although it took them quite awhile to figure them out...which was entertaining in itself! The main cabin front door would not shut or latch so when you closed it, it remained ajar. But the remote location rendered that lack of security a non-issue...just a bug entrance and a heat loss. The furniture was comfortable and lighting was good. The access to the dock is excellent and the dock was well equipped and a great place to fish, swim, sun bathe, or just relax in the very comfortable dock furniture! The campfires were very relaxing, the fire ring was good and well appointed, the seating could be improved as the terrain around the fire was difficult at times in the dark, the bushes surrounding the fire pit could be cut back some more and the seats were very comfortable but just getting old and weak. The barbecue grill was very nice and worked out well!
The woods behind the cabins were great to hike and explore the large boulders were very cool! The age of the cabin is impressive while its quality was most comforting. The history of the local structures and that entire area is fascinating! We had a great time and loved our vacation in the cabins!

I can't say enough good things about this property, the caretakers and the hosts! We spent 4 wonderful days here with our cousins (4 adults, 4 kids) and had an amazing time. Everything was clean, the caretakers were incredibly helpful and the property/location is gorgeous. We hiked, swam, fished, stargazed, took the boat to Blue Mountain Lake, cooked over the fire, napped in our hammocks, sat by the campfire every night, read books on the dock during the day and played endless rounds of cards.
There are some things that you should know when booking... for starters, you MUST rent a boat of some sort (recommend Burke's Marina in Raquette Lake). This property is only accessible by boat so if you want to get anywhere (including back to your car), you must have a boat. We planned to rent a ski boat but ended up with a pontoon boat and were so glad we did. We even used it as auxiliary outdoor seating for some meals! The caretakers will shuttle you from the parking lot when you first arrive but you'll need your own boat shortly thereafter (Burke's Marina delivers to the dock!)
Also, note that both bathrooms are in separate buildings from the bedrooms. They are wonderful bathrooms -- clean and spacious -- but you have to walk outside to get to them. Additionally, they don't have showers so you can take a bath, use the outdoor shower bags provided or just do what we did... bathe in the lake! It was one of the highlights of the trip for all of us, frankly.
Lastly, make sure you understand the sleeping arrangements. The main house has a separate master bedroom with a big bed. Then there is a twin bed in the main living area with a twin trundle beneath. The separate "bunkie house" was a huge hit with our kids. That is a huge open room with a king bed and two twins that have trundles beneath. So you can split up families between the houses or do what we did and put all of the kids in the bunkie house.
Regina (the owner) was absolutely amazing, I couldn't have asked for a better host!! The caretakers were wonderful and helpful and knowledgeable about everything we could possibly need. If you are looking to truly get away (absolutely ZERO cell service on the property) and enjoy peaceful solitude in an amazing natural setting, this is perfect!! It is rustic so don't expect anything to be super fancy but we all agreed that it was spectacular!! In fact, we're already planning a vacation back there next summer -- but for LONGER!

My wife, two boys and I had a fantastic time at the cabin. We had indoor and outdoor fires, meals inside and out, used the kayaks at the property, hiked the trails that start out the back door, swam, stargazed (wow), relaxed. My brother and his family joined us for our last night and stayed in the guest cabin, and our combined group of 7 fit easily. I loved the boatride to the cabin, and the caretakers were really helpful. The owner was super flexible with our needs, and hope to return!

The kind of day I am having I need to be sitting on that dock smiling looking at the beautiful nature.
