About this house rental
Ocean Hollow is a charming 2 bedroom split-level house situated on the beautiful Fitts Village Beach on the highly sought after Platinum West Coast of Barbados. Each bedroom boasts an ensuite bathroom, one with a king bed and one with a queen. The main living room has a huge sliding glass door which opens up to the sparkly, clear, blue water of the Caribbean Sea.
NOTE: This house is totally self-contained, but there is a sister cottage on the property that is also self contained. The two properties are completely separate, with the only thing being shared is the access to the beach. If you are interested in adding the sister cottage (2 bed, 2 bath) to your reservation, just let us know via message.
The house is also perfectly located 10 meters from a bus stop which can take you to almost any part of the island. Also, being located on the West Coast of the island you will have access to some of the top cuisine and shopping destinations. We are also just a 4 km drive from the elite Lime Grove Lifestyle Center featuring some of the best shopping on the island and a beautiful cinema.
This house is perfect for the travelers who just want to sit back and enjoy watching the sun set over the Caribbean Sea and spend their days walking on our white sand beaches. It is also perfect for the more fast-paced traveler who wants to stay in a rich, vibrant area with access to some of the best bars in the busy 1st and 2nd Streets of Holetown, just a 15 minute bus ride away.
We are also situated just 3km from the University of the West Indies Cave Hill campus which makes us a perfect place for visiting students or parents.

Fantastic location right on the beach. The bungalow is clean, well maintained and well furnished and kitchen has all that you need for adventurous cooking and cocktail making.
If you’re not a sun worshiper, the mature trees provide and large veranda provide plenty of shade during the heat of day and a superb frame to the spectacular sunsets.
The beach is never crowded. Bikini Beach Bar is 200m to the south and provides great snacks & drinks during the day and a full menu in the evenings. To the north is Crystal Cove where you can do all the usual water sports if desired.

Great location for our first visit to Barbados.
The house has everything you need and with bus stops just outside it's easy to get around without the use of a car.
Although not the most modern property it is clean and comfortable, at a great price.
Chloe the host was very helpful and replied immediately to any enquiries we had.

We had a very nice stay. Lot's of keys to lock and unlock when you come and go, but got used to that pretty quickly. Internet was great, view could not be better. Kitchen well stocked so cooking was easy. Loved the trees on the property. Met the owners and they were helpful and delightful.

We stayed at Ocean Hollow for 16 days in June 2023 and had such a great experience. The house is a cute beach cottage and is literally steps from the sea…just open the back gate and you are on the beach! The two bedrooms are comfortable, quite large and both have en suite bathrooms one w king bed and one w queen bed. Both bedrooms have air conditioning units that work very well. The indoor living area is comfortable but the best area to hang out in the evening is the back patio which is spacious with ceiling fans and has comfortable furniture. The kitchen is well equipped and the washer/dryer are so nice to have, especially when you stay for a longer period. Parking by the house is private and spacious and parks about 4 cars comfortably. Chloe, the Property Manager, is great and provides very detailed info and is available if you need her and is super responsive.
Can’t wait for our next stay at Ocean Hollow ☺️

Lovely Villa at a great location
My wife and I stayed for 19 days at the property and it was perfect. Everything we needed, lots of space and right on the sea front. The location of the Villa is excellent, just a stroll down to Fitts village and Jordans supermarket or a bus ride into Holetown with the bus stops more or less right outside.
A short walk along the beach takes you to Crystal Cove beach which is perfect for swimming and sunbathing. When we arrived there was a 9pm curfew, but that did not in any way detract from our enjoyment. Overall a great relaxing holiday with no issue.

Magical!
What an amazing experience! Everything exceeded expectations from the start. The owners, a wonderful family, ensured I was settled in comfortably from the first day. The bottle of rum punch, rock cakes, coconut bread, pitcher of cold water and plenty of ice were most welcome gifts and extras to start my stay. Heidi returned at the end of the day to drive me to the supermarket so I could fill the pantry with food. She shared so many ideas of places to see and things to do. Andrew, her husband, was equally engaging and helpful. If I ever needed help Chloe, Heidi and Andrew's daughter, was a text away. Felt spoiled with the immediate attention any of my inquires received. I'm sharing a few highlights. Know that you are gong to are about to have a most magical time.
Location and home were ideal. Large two bedroom house, fully equipped with attention to important details. Had laundry detergent available, the kitchen was fully equipped, shampoo and conditioner, lots of hand soap and the list goes on. You walk down 8 steps and maybe 10 strides to arrive at the sea. Paradise my friends! Access to about 1 mile of beach - great for my morning walk.
Ocean Hollow is the place for you to stay if you want to immediately start enjoying your time in Barbados and leave your worries behind. The owners, like all Bajans, only want you to enjoy everything the island has to offer. Welcome to Paradise Plus my friends.

A Piece of Paradise
So much better than advertised is all we can say about Ocean Hollow! Stunning beach and sea views serenaded by the rolling waves, this wonderful property did not disappoint. Any questions or concerns we had were dealt with promptly and courteously. Especially during this challenging time, Chloe was invaluable with her recommendations and assistance when we needed it.
Situated just off the main road, fully fenced with direct access to the sand and sea, Ocean Hollow is a rare find! It is suitable for couples and small families. Pets are also welcome! We can’t wait to return!

Sea Glass and Sunsets
Ocean Hollow is a beautiful place to stay while visiting Barbados. It is on the west coast just south of Holetown and north of Bridgetown.
The house is a large two bedroom, two bathroom with everything we needed for a family of four. The bedrooms are air conditioned for comfort at night and the multiple windows allows for the ocean breeze to flow through the house. My favourite place was the back porch where I enjoyed yoga each morning and a cup of coffee watching the waves of the ocean. The ocean is literally at your back steps. During high tide it is sometimes splashing into the yard. I hope you take a moment to say hi to your neighbour. He is the kindest man and made our stay even more memorable. We enjoyed many a sunset together talking about the island and the world.
We took our family to Barbados for over a month to experience the country and live somewhere safer than home at the moment. The experience was invaluable. My partners family is from Barbados and for all of us it was like coming home. The island is beautiful and the people are kind and warm and welcoming. Ask Chloe for the contact of an amazing taxi driver, Ronald. We decided not to drive and used a taxi a couple of times a week instead. He may be a little more expensive than others but he is kind, informative, reliable, punctual and warm. We made a friend for life.
Jordons Supermarket is right down the street and I preferred it over Massy but I also cooked a lot of local meals and everything you need for that is there. The fish market was incredible. We ate a lot of seared tuna steaks, flying fish and marlin. The Esso close by to the market had a vegetable vendor, atm, and staples. The best Roth’s can be found next door at The Roti Place. Lovely people too. On your way to the fish market or home, the Crane has a French pastry cart for your morning croissants or dinner baguette. Wendy’s Restaurant and Bar is super close if you cut through Brewsters lot and has great local food and also ribs and chicken and fries. There are huge screens to watch sports and lovely people.
Being there through a pandemic is eye opening. The government is well run and incredibly careful and thoughtful. Those of us coming from the Western World do not realize the impact of the reduction of one industry like tourism and how significantly it impacts a whole island. Tourists are needed and encouraged but so is safety, understanding., and respect.

Excellent property and good location
Everything was as described. The property is excellent for 2 couples having 2 large bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms. The kitchen has all the essentials needed and the dishwasher, and washing machine and dryer are very useful. There is a large lounge/dining room with comfortable seating. The best place to sit is on the outside terrace watching the waves coming to and fro and the sunset in the evening. The location is good with a regular bus service along the main road, and the bus stop just a few steps away. We walked to the Jordans Supermarket for supplies which is about 10 mins walk. The pavement does not run all the way but it is possible to get off the road when traffic passes. I would thoroughly recommend this property if you are looking for somewhere on the West coast.

Private, beautiful view with all that you may need. Everyone we meet were very nice and polite. Grocery stores are close by as well as restaurants. Out the back gate and to the right is small Resort where a nice guy named Randy is out on the beach where you can line up things to do on/in the water.

Sea lapping at the gate!
Just returned from our second stay in this property. What a location, right on the beach (literally) as the sea comes up to the gate!
Value for money you would be hard pushed to get a more idyllic position. Ocean Hollow is a very spacious property with 2 large air conditioned en suite bedrooms, an open plan sitting room/dining area and a kitchen. The beds are very comfortable and the sofas are more comfortable than the ones we have at home! A car isn't essential but we hired one this time and it gave us much more flexibility for eating out and getting to a bigger supermarket. Buses are readily available and cheap but having seen how fast they are driven we decided to give those a miss!

Charming Beach Property
We had a wonderful 10 day stay at Ocean Hollow. The cottage was well appointed and tastefully decorated. The house was set back far enough to avoid any traffic noise. It actually provide a sense of intimacy and privacy. The sunrise and sunset views were priceless. There were sandy, swimmable beaches within a short distance right off the back of the property. The convenience of having washer/dryer was a big plus. We had a few minor maintenance issues that Chloe promptly addressed. Bottom line, this was an excellent bargain for a hidden gem on the platinum west coast of Barbados. Thank you so much for a allowing us to stay.

A little slice of Paradise
This little gem of a house is perfect in so many ways - convenient location for so many reasons; steps away from the beach; the view through the mature mahogany trees (which help to keep it cool on an afternoon) which you never tire from; comfortable furnishings; well equipped kitchen. We wouldn't stay anywhere else on the west coast! Thanks to the super host Chloe who always makes sure we are happy!

It's like being on a desert island!
We have just returned from a 10 night stay and we loved it!
The property has 2 big bedrooms with very comfortable beds and pillows and the living area is very spacious too. In addition there is the large veranda with 2 seating areas and barbecue which we used several times. The sea literally laps at the gate of the garden and as you can't see the property to the left when you are on the veranda and there is nothing immediately to the right it really felt like we were on our own little desert island!
You do get a few people passing the gate at low tide and, talking of tides, I strongly recommend downloading the tide tables for the area so you know when you can get along the beach as it is a much more pleasant walk than the road!
We loved the 2 nearby restaurants Il Tempio (on the beach) and Caribe which were about 10 minutes walk away. By Barbados standards they are not expensive and the food was excellent!
The house itself isn't ultra modern but it is extremely good value for the amount being charged and it has a natural charm about it. The kitchen has a good range of gadgets and cookware and we bought food at the local, very well stocked, supermarket Jordan's which is opposite Il Tempio restaurant.
The garden itself is well shaded due to the number of trees but the beach to either side of the property is stunning. If I went again I would take a lilo to use on the beach as a lounger!
If you get woken up at sunrise by a loud noise on the roof don't panic, it's a visitation from the green monkeys who sometimes appear! One even walked bold as brass across the veranda one afternoon too!
Chloe was great before and during our stay providing us with all the information we needed and she and her family were extremely helpful and promptly fixed a problem we had with the air conditioning while we were there. Thank you to all of you.

A delightful cottage
We really enjoyed our stay at Ocean Hollow.
The cottage is roomy, well appointed and fully lived up to the description provided.
Very comfortable furniture. All facilities worked fine. The washer and dryer were a nice feature.
Chloe, the property manager [and her family] were very cooperative and obliging.
Bring your snorkel and mask as the coral comes close to the beach here and offers plenty of opportunity to view all kinds of tropical fish.
At low tide and with a couple of short detours you can walk the beach for several miles towards Bridgetown.
The market at Fitts Village is quite convenient especially for those, like us, with no car.
We loved the place and hope to stay there again on a future visit.

Lovely beachside well equipped villa. Superb informal welcome. We really enjoyed our stay and felt at home immediately. Although we never actually met Chloe we did meet her charming and kind grandparents (owners of the property). This property cannot be faulted in our opinion a real find.

A Good Stay in Feb. 2019
We enjoyed our stay @ Ocean Hollow. 2 bedrooms with ensures were great for two couples. Beach patio was a pleasant way to enjoy the evenings after a day swimming or hiking the island. The house is far enough off of and on the water side of the busy roadway. Noise was not an issue. This property is not the lap of luxury but its good, honest accommodation for the price.

Lovelyvacation spot
This is a lovely and relaxing vacation spot. The house has two spacious bedrooms with en suite baths, a generous living/dining space overlooking a large patio for outdoor eating and relaxing which itself overlooks a sandy fenced yard and the ocean. There is also a well stocked kitchen that has all the amenities one needs for a complete vacation. Beaches for swimming are readily available in either direction and the reef directly in front means unobstructed views at all times. Chloe, our hostess, was very responsive to any of our questions. In addition, it was an easy walk or drive to the grocery store or lovely Italian restaurant.

Amazing gem on the beach
I am a Barbadian living in the US who just stayed at Ocean Hollow for Christmas week with my husband and his two kids. We had the most amazing time and I would would recommend this house highly in terms of location, amenities, and value for money. Anyone who knows the West Coast of Barbados knows it is very expensive. At Ocean Hollow you get West Coast beaches and restaurants without paying typical prices. It is obviously not a fancy villa with maid, cook etc. which cost 10-20 times more but we’re well-travelled people who like our comforts and we would rent this house again anytime. We were pleasantly surprised at how big the rooms were; the kitchen has a modern dishwasher and washer/dryer and comes well stocked with dishes, appliances, cookware, etc. And there was loads of room to have friends over and relax on the shady patio. We saw a few mosquitoes but that’s common everywhere on the west and south coasts. We used vape mats and citronella candles etc to keep them at bay. Best of all, the beach is right there. I was worried about access at high tide but you can always get to the Crystal Cove beaches via a short path and there is an even better beach to the left that is very quiet but best accessed at low tide. All of our friends who came to visit loved it too. And Chloe was a delight to work with. We can’t wait to go back.

Fabulous Stay in Barbados
We're a family with 2 teenage girls. We recently stayed at Ocean Hollow for a week and had a fantastic time! The location of the house was superb, literally right on the beach front. We walked no more than 100m to get to a white sand, perfect Caribbean beach. The house had all the amenties we needed (air con was a blessing). We found mozzies to be a bit of an issue though, so go prepared! The rooms were a lot bigger than the pictures suggest. There's plenty of room and the bedrooms are huge.

From the time we walk through the entrance doors and look straight on to the beach and the beautiful blue ocean, we know we're in paradise!

The bedrooms are comfortable as are the beds. However we didn't spend much time there. We loved sitting in the patio which is shaded by mature mahogany trees. As the patio is elevated, your view point is level with the birds busy building nests etc. And through the trees the sea is on your doorstep with amazing shades of blue. We would sometimes lounge on the chairs under the trees with the waves lapping gently feet away, sipping a Bajan rum punch we would make in the adequately stocked kitchen. Use the measuring cup to make one part lime juice (buy local limes at supermarket) , two parts sugar (or simple syrup mixture) and three parts local rum....pour on lots of ice and sip slowly!
We did long walks on the beach, dipping in the sea several time along the way. Snorkeling came across a few flounders this time! Soaking in the area in front of Crystal Cove Hotel (a few steps away) my husband enjoyed feeding the many fish living among some rocks placed there. They are so tame, would nip our fingers even without food. Lots of watersports to do if you're into that.
Another great thing about the house is it's location. Everything is within walking distance. A small supermarket minutes away. Lots of places to eat from high end to a sports bar (Wendy's) ....we got a lot of take away from here, amazing ribs and macaroni pie!

Fantastic beach front property for families
Amazing vacation and Ocean Hollow was perfect for our family. We've been to Barbados twice and this is our second time staying at Ocean Hollow. The location can't be beat. We have small children and the gated in backyard made it easy to allow them to play in the sand, while we relaxed or made meals. And when it was time to hit the beach, you literally open the gate and are standing on a beautiful beach. Although you can't swim right in front of the property, about 100m to the North is the perfect swimming spot for kids. Right in front of Crystal Cove resort (all beaches are public and you commonly see locals swim here as well), is a little swimming area that is protected from any waves.
Chloe is a fantastic host who responds quickly and is very accommodating. We rented some items for our kids from a local company and she made arrangements directly with the company to be available for them to drop everything off.
The pictures are accurate, and the bedrooms are large. The style is a little dated, but everything works and we spent most of our time enjoying the beauty that is Barbados. We're already planning our next vacation.
If you want a little luxury to compliment a stay at Ocean Hollow, the Crystal Cove resort next door also offers day passes - the information is hard to find online, but it's $250 BBD for adults and half price for kids. It gives you access to the resort from 10-6. Dinner isn't technically included, but their 'Reflections' restaurant is open until 6pm and we had dinner around 5:30. The resort is gorgeous with 3 pools, water sports and fantastic drinks.

Lovely stay at Ocean Hollow... Close to beaches, groceries and a short 23 minute drive to Bridgetown... Awesome to wake up every morning and have a cup of coffee on the veranda listening to the ocean waves.. With a surprise visit from a family of monkeys. The sunsets were spectacular...❤️❤️

Excellent stay, everything as advertised
We had a fantastic stay from Feb 10-21, at Ocean Hollow. A beautiful home with plenty of room for 2 couples or family of 4.
Bedrooms are large and well appointed. Kitchen is quite functional and well equipped. We hosted a dinner for 8 with no problems and plenty of room for everyone.
Property is tucked away well off the Main Street and has plenty of parking. The back yard is priceless with a beautiful patio, furniture for 8 and of course the Caribbean Sea lapping at the back step.
We did quite a bit of cooking ourselves, however there are plenty of resteraunts near by. Groceries are also nearby at the Massey and Jordan’s supermarkets.
Over all it was a great stay. We would highly recommend renting a car so you can explore the entire island.

If you are a beach person you do not need to leave this property. We walked the beach multiple times a day. There was a nice size beach for most of the day but when the tide was coming in it would go away. We swam right next store in the public swimming area, which was never crowded. The house had all you needed. Could have used a few more kitchen pans but we made it work with what we had. They don't supply dishwashing detergent so bring some from home as prices are expensive at the grocery store for the few washes you do while you are there. We used the washer and dryer as they do not supply many towels so you need to wash them. Our party of 4 had a fabulous time at this house and would highly recommend it to anyone. It's a quiet area with a lot of privacy. We grilled out on the patio most nights and ate outside 3 times a day, why wouldn't you with that view. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. Bring mosquito repellent for sure. We brought a few citronella candles from home and those really helped out. Mike and Chloe were amazing to work with and were very helpful with any questions we had. We would totally go back!

We have rented flats and houses on this site and others throughout Europe and North America and consider ourselves savvy renters. The holiday rental experience is a cocktail consisting of 1 part diligent research, 1 part good two way communication and 1 part pure leap of faith. When you get what you expect based on photos, reviews and owner feedback, that's success. Our 7 night stay at Ocean Hollow turned out to be what we were seeking and what we expected. Our key requirement was to be beachfront and Ocean Hollow's location on the west side of the island met that requirement - in spades. We spent many relaxing hours eating meals, reading our books and watching the surf on the comfortable deck metres from the ocean. Others have noted that getting in for a swim is a "rocky" experience. My partner is a capable swimmer and diver and had no difficulty (bring water shoes); but if you are seeking endless beach days swimming off a sandy beach and baking in the sun, stick to an all-inclusive. If instead you are looking for a private, quiet, well-furnished self-catered experience, with the ability to visit lovely restaurants (you will need a car, be willing to take taxis, or take local buses as we often did) this house if for you. We enjoyed our week immensely. Bonus points given for: helpful and lovely interactions with Chloé, outdoor hot shower, washer/dryer/, lightning fast wifi, big screen TV to watch the Academy Awards, the incredibly gracious and helpful locals, and more. Constructive feedback to owners: It may be time for a small cash outlay for some additional kitchen basics (tools and staples), new linens, firmer and newer mattresses, better kitchen and bathroom lighting, and yes, please think about doing something about those treacherous master bathroom stairs, as one reviewer pointed out. Thank you!

This is a great place to stay at.
Everything is close by. Located on the major bus route you can get on of off right outside the cottage on the street and most anywhere.
The cottage is very nice with everything needed for your stay. The owners stopped by to check on us to see how everything was and have the yard cleaned regularly. This is a great place for a couple or two, even a small family to stay.
The ocean comes right up to the gate access to the beach. Wonderful. We highly recommend this place for a winter getaway.

Chloe's Ocean Hollow Villa has a prime beach location between Holetown and Bridgetown. Holetown is the poshest part of he island and features lots of restaurants and shopping. The villa is exactly as pictured on the site. It's quite large and well furnished. The beds are very comfortable and the AC in he bedrooms works well. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because the master bathroom is sunken and could present a falling hazard for older folks or children. The patio is comfortably furnished and we spent most of our time at home out their enjoying the view and listening to the surf. Use bug spray after dark though. We all commented on the fast wifi. Two of us had to work and Skype while there and it was efficient. I would definitely return to Ocean Hollow if I visit Barbados again. The neighborhood is safe and friendly.

Beautiful clean and all amenities posted worked. Relaxing sound of waves and beach view. On bus line. No screens! Paid 250/night for 6 nights ($1500) to be on a beach where I could swim. Was told that 200 feet away was good swimming beach but not so. You cannot swim at this beach or even at the nearby hotel's beach because of all the rocks. Listing misrepresents the facts and I feel taken advantage of due to exorbitant price for a non-swimmable beach. Very disappointed that I had to take the bus to beach which was exactly what I did not want to do and why I rented this property.

We had a great stay at Ocean Hollow. The beach house has all the necessities for a comfortable vacation. It was great eating breakfast on the back porch and listening to the ocean waves. Although only the bedrooms are air conditioned there was always an ocean breeze flowing through the house. There is really no beach to speak of on the property especially during high tide when the waves wash right up to the gate shown in the picture. You could pay US$ 110 per person to get a day pass at the resort next door to use their beach (includes lunch & all drinks). Instead we found a beautiful, secluded beach only 2 km from OH. OH is located in the main tourist section of the island so it is close to all the best restaurants, The food was great but dining out is more expensive than in the States because of the 17.5% VAT. If you rent a car be advised that the road/town name signage is nonexistent; make sure you have an international cell phone with GPS. If you use Google Maps for directions from the airport (BGI) to the property it will direct you via the Adams/Barrow/Cummings Highways. This combination of highways is abbreviated ABC Highway on all roundabout signs. It took us a few days to figure that out. We visited the Andromeda Botanical Gardens, Bathsheba, the Flower Forest, Hunte's Garden (a must see), Welchman Hall Gully and the Mt Gay Rum Distillery. Considering that the temperature in Barbados was 70 degrees warmer than back home we will definitely consider coming back to Ocean Hollow again.
