My family and I had a wonderful weekend at this house. My daughter and son in law loved the master bedroom with its sliding door out to the backyard, and my granddaughter loved that we could walk to the beach. We had a great time.

Great Family Place close to beaches, Fred Myer and Redwoods.

The property was just as advertised and was very clean. This was our first time staying at a VRBO and everything went smoothly! We would definitely stay there again!
8.0 / 10.0
The house was very well stocked with cooking equipment, extra blankets, and even a few games. We enjoyed the quiet location close to town and the beach. I loved being able to bring my dogs too. The backyard fence wasn't very secure, which was fine for us, but might be an issue for other pet owners.
6.0 / 10.0
Good location close to Harris Beach. House is fair, double wide with addition built on. The lighting could be better but it’s okay if you don’t plan on staying indoors much. If planning to cook meals take some pans. The pans available are oldest and food sticks to the surfaces. Good location.

It was fantastic to be close to town and Harris Beach. A very comfortable place to stay with a short distance to all the local sights.

Decided to get away for Christmas this year, and my husband and son enjoy Brookings. This house worked well for us in terms of size and location. Great place for a family getaway.

We travel to Brookings often to visit family and decided to rent a house instead of staying in one of their camp trailers this time. This house was perfect for our needs, while being close to town it offered a private feel. The house was fully stocked with all that we could need other than food. There was lots of parking and the neighborhood felt secure despite being on the edge of town. I would 10 out of 10 stay here again.

There are a few repairs needed but are being worked on. The house is comfortable and perfect for our needs. The backyard was maintained and fenced in so my dogs couldn’t get out and there were no neighboring pets so it was peaceful. Only suggestion I’d make is bring your own frying pan because all of theirs stick!

My husband, son, daughter-in-law and our 2 grandchildren totally enjoyed our stay here. My daughter-in-law was playing in a softball tournament in Brookings and as it turned out this house was less than a mile away from the field. The house was exactly what we needed to be able to stay with the littles while they napped and mom played softball. And then take them to play on the beach. There was lots of room for the grands to play (the sunroom was really nice for them). My son was the chef so having a kitchen was Great! The family room was a nice place for all of us to hangout, watch movies or just visit. My husband and I stayed in the master bedroom with the private bathroom while the grandchildren and their mom & dad stayed in the other two room on the other side of the house. Worked out Super! Beds were comfortable and bathrooms really nice. Each time I needed to contact Donna, our contact person, she was always polite and accommodating. My son said "mom we need to make sure we get this place again next year!" We will definitely be back! SO MUCH Better than staying a hotel or motel.

Our stay was great. Our kids called this place the Bear House because of all the cute little Bear decorations. The home had everything we needed for cooking and sleeping. Safe spaces for kids to play, very kid friendly.

Pet friendly with fenced yard, and the home was comfortable for four adults. Near town and Harris Beach State Park. This was the perfect place for us for this trip: go play during the day, then come "home" to a comfortable place. Highly recommend!

The house met our needs but we couldn't turn off the constant fan that sounded a little like a dishwasher going 24/7. Also, we found the backyard full of dog poop and the side gate broken down so we were not able to use it for our dog. Plus, the nice Adidondack chairs in the backyard were too dirty to sit on and we couldn't find a garden hose even if we wanted to sit in the backyard. We also cooked some meals in and although the kitchen was fully equipped, we have found vacation rentals in the past with more supplies, i.e. spices, aluminum foil, etc. All in all, we enjoyed our stay in Brookings and found it a beautiful area to visit.

We had a very good stay. The property was clean, well-stocked and everything was is in working condition. We enjoyed having a sliding glass door in the master bedroom. We would definitely stay there again. My only suggestion would be to have blinds or "no see through" drapes/curtains on the windows. The only room that did have them was the master bedroom.

Could not turn off fan for ac/heat and didn't understand hiw to work all tv remites...confusing. otherwise property was comfortable and neat. Master bath sink leaks and mirror is cracked. But we had a fantastic time there!

The over all for the weekend was it was better than a hotel.
Upon arrival we struggled with getting the lock open tried to call guest contact and it went straight to voice-mail. We finally got in the house and there were a number of issues.
The couch arm was broken, there were dirty dishes that were put away in the cupboards along with silverware, a load was left in the dryer, the floors were not swept and one of the bed sheets needed to be washed. There were also half used toilet paper rolls on the plungers in both bathrooms, it would be better just to take off a full rotation of paper and leave it to be used, also not a single trash bag was in the house and the garbage was already over flowing when we got there. All of the towels in the cupboard were wet enough they could have used 30+ in the dryer but ended up just washing because I don't know how long they were there.
The remotes that were in the master were not the correct remotes. I found the correct remote upon cleaning the home to leave in the couch in the living room. We had trouble getting the suana up and running in any capacity so we nixed that and the bbq had 0 propane and ants in the kitchen. Again it was better than a hotel as we like to do a big feast but will not be coming back for another stay.

Nice Place but sauna didn’t work
The house was very nice but the sauna didn’t work. I rented this place for my wife’s birthday, she loves saunas and it was the only place we found online that had one so we were really excited when we found it and we weren’t able to use it the whole weekend. The owners did a really good Job with the inside of the house, it was beautiful. Comfortable and close to town.

Great home for a beach getaway
The pictures in this listing don't do justice to this property. It is in a great location near the beach. The yard and deck are nice and offers a great outdoor space to relax. The kitchen is well equipped with many dishes, pots and pans, coffee maker, and counter space that make cooking for a group easy. The bedrooms were good sized and comfortable for 6 adults. Kids fit nicely on air mattress. There is not a formal dining area inside. There are countertops and barstools along with the adjacent living room that we used for dining. The yard can accommodate a few vehicles. We loved the redwood trees in the yard too. We had no issues to contact the property owner about but did receive detailed check in information and information about the area prior to our check in. We would stay here again.

We had an amazing time and loved this property. It felt good to have a getaway on the coast and this property was a perfect fit for our family. It was cozy, clean and we couldn't have been happier.

Going to the Coast
Inside of the house was clean and cozy. Wifi was fine. The yard was overgrown and needs attention. Their was not a place for our whole family to sit and play cards or games. We enjoyed the quiet neighborhood and the short distance to the beach. Our overall experience was good.

Recent stay
The property was described as a 12 minute walk to the beach - this is probably accurate but it was along a road without sidewalks the entire way and required you to cross Hwy101. It was also described as having a fenced yard. There was a fence but it’s not fully enclosed and the yard wasn’t mowed.

Nice place to stay.
We enjoyed our stay. Well equipped kitchen. Lots of room for everyone.

Property contact was great!
The home was beautiful and the extra bonus room not listed was great! The fridge was not working properly and they got us another one right away. The short walk to the beach is not accurate considering the hills and crossing the highway. It was quick to load up and drive though. The master bed has some type of bar thing you can feel, but still comfortable if you move away from it. Our biggest disappointment was the back yard. The pictures make it look huge so we brought yard games but couldn't use them because it is small. It is very overgrown and the big branches hanging across made it useless. Our outside time was spent out front. There was mouse poop in the main bathroom including in the bag for the hair dryer. There is an ant issue in the kitchen but there was ant traps provided so it got fixed. Overall it is a very nice home with a quiet and peaceful setting. Considering the price it was worth the stay. Most likely would not stay again though.

Fun place
Very private, nice sized yard for our dog (not full fenced, but close enough for us). Very close to the beach. We loved the enclosed patio!

Wonderful birthday beach getaway
Overall, I really enjoyed this house. It's so close (driving) to the beach / Harris Beach State Park.
We did see a few spiders and a couple of ants during our stay, but nothing too crazy or unreasonable. Brookings is absolutely gorgeous and there are so many places that take your breath away. We went on several local short hikes and loved all that we got to see. Ocean, mountains, trees, river all in one area!! We went out to see the sunrise and also sunset at Harris and it was wonderful. We also saw deer in the yard one of the days we were there! That was awesome.
The house itself was great. We used all of the appliances and all worked fine. The crockpot came in handy. The washer and dryer are very helpful when making multiple trips to the beach. And they supplied plenty of laundry detergent.
I would love better curtains on the windows though. All the windows were either uncovered or they had sheer (see-through) curtains. The master bedroom sliding glass door was a little more covered but still had some sheer spots in some of the panels. Since the house is set back a little from the road and it has trees and such, the uncovered windows didn't feel directly threatening. Like it wasn't like a neighbor was right there with a window next to yours, but I personally like to be able to cover windows at nighttime, no matter where I am or how secluded it is, and especially when I go to sleep. So I think it would be nice to have the option to close curtains or blinds for those of us who would like some privacy.
More fans would be great. Most of the time the temperature was very comfortable but being mid-July, it did get a little warm at times. There was only one fan available for whole house.
The listing said there was a queen blowup mattress but it turned out to be a full. It turned out fine for what we needed.
overall the things I would like to see improved are minor things. I would still come back to this VRBO if life gives me another opportunity. We had such a great time!

Great property for kids and pets, all the comforts of home and a close walk or drive to town.
Very clean, looked just like the pictures online. Close walk or drive to beaches and shops. Would definitely stay here again.

A tucked away paradise
This place has everything!! I loved how comfy the master bed was and LOVED the master bathroom sink! lots of seating, except in kitchen where some of us had to stand and eat but no biggie. The sauna unfortunately we couldn’t get to work but we ended up not having time. It was a great place to stay altogether and enjoy the beach. It’s so private I loved it. We will be back, the property owner is very nice too. We texted back and forth with a few minor things but it was a great time. Thank you Virginia for your home.

Peaceful & comfortable.
Very spacious 3 bedroom home. Enjoyed the updated kitchen (except for the stove) & bathrooms. Beds were comfortable. Appreciated having a BBQ grill. A few drawbacks tho, no kitchen table only 4 bar stools at the counter. Deck was too small. Floors were filthy, bottom of feet turned black. Dusty & cobwebs. Large gap in master bedroom door & window.

$200 per night and a bed full of ants pee and hair
I drove 8 hours from Washington to spend the holiday weekend on at the beach. After arriving we went into town for dinner. We got back I took a shower and my fiancé took a nap in the master bed. I got out to find ants all over him and the bed. We pulled back the sheets to see where they were coming from only to find dog and human hair all over and the mattress was disgusting stained with bodily fluids and black mold. I took pictures and emailed them to the house cleaner. I did get a full refund that night but had do drive 40 minutes to California to get the refund. With it being a holiday weekend and every hotel and motel sold out we slept in our car on the side of the road. Not fun at all. For the price we paid and knowing the guest book was full of past renters the owner should take the time to purchase new mattresses.
