About this farm stay rental

Privacy at its best, near to wineries, yet you feel away from it all once you enter our private, secluded property. Great for families of all ages. Enter through private road with peach orchard and vegetable gardening on each side. And once you arrived, you can view the estate vineyard in its various stages of production. The property is located on 4 acres with great views in all directions. You take a step back in time as you find remnants of a by gone period, with an old cistern, and the iconic windmill both used as water sources in a different era. The front screened porch is guests' favorite spot for morning coffee. You can enjoy the serenity of the sunrise and watch for farm animals and deer grazing in the distance. Sunsets are best enjoyed out on the back patio, sitting by the outdoor fireplace on cooler days or listening to the waterfall on the warmer days. The 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bath home with its original rock structure built in the 1890s, holds many of the characteristics of the original house with modern updates. The current owners have incorporated antique furnishings with modern furnishing to create a comfortable cozy house. Bedroom 1 downstairs has a king size bed with close proximity to full bath, shower/tub around the corner in hallway. Bedroom #2 upstairs, larger than bedroom #1 has a California king bed and a half bath but close access to the full bath, also upstairs, with walk in shower. Bedroom #3 upstairs encompasses the entire second floor of the original rock house resembles a large open dormitory room of yesteryear allowing for a lot of sleeping space. Bedroom #3 has a queen bed, 3 twin beds, great for kids or a 3rd couple. Our detached garage has all you need for some family or group fun: a ping pong table, corn hole bags game, bikes and helmets for kids and just some space to hang out in in the event of inclement weather. We also have an EV charger in the driveway to charge your electric vehicle. Ask owner how to enable the charger. There are many attractions, almost 100 wineries within a 30 minute drive, shopping in Fredericksburg, antiquing in Johnson City, close to LBJ State Park, Old Tunnel State Park, for bat watching, Enchanted Rock State Park and Pedernales State Park for hiking, Albert Ice House and Luckenbach for evening entertainment and many, many more unique places. And the greatest experience of the weekend could be a visit to the Rhinory, a mile away, owned by a family member! You will drive past it on your way to the house, at the intersection of Gellerman and Hwy 290. You will find the winery with great wine and a great experience for the youngsters. Be sure you stop in during your stay. Call for reservations on busy weekends and holidays. Be sure to allow enough days to spent in the area. Most guest will admit they should have stayed longer.

We planned our first girl cousin trip to Fredericksburg. We had a blast visiting all the wineries, eating good food and sitting outside making smore's at the fireplace. The property was so nice and peaceful and the house worked out great for the number in our party. We have decided our next cousin trip will be back to Fredericksburg and Stonewall.

Let me say that what you see on this listing is what you get PLUS so much more. First off upon arrival at the farmhouse we met Richard, it was a pleasure. We instantly felt right at home. We loved the farmhouse and the premises. Everything about this place was amazing for us, all the amenities you need just like described, even a safety gate to keep my 16 mth old grandson from going up or down the stairs. The updates in this house for a bit tend to make you forget the age and history of the place. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the patio, the hanging lights in evening, the pecan trees in the yard and the view of a small vineyard. We played with our grandchildren outside and enjoyed some time on the front porch. My grandchildren loved the room they shared with their parents they also enjoyed the play area in that room. The location of the farmhouse was perfect, we were in town with extended family(about 30) only 5 minutes away on the main road. Stonewall is to the left on the main road, Fredricksburg to the right. We visited wineries, downtown Fredricksurg, went antique shopping and celebrated August birthdays and had lots of quality family time. We did not make it to Stonewall so we will definitely have to schedule another stay. We loved everything about the farmhouse and its premises, so yes I definitely recommend the farmhouse and yes we would love to go back. Thank you Dolores and Richard for sharing such a great place where my family made wonderful memories.

A friend is being stationed overseas and this was one last get together before this next adventure and the house was PERFECT fit for the seven of us. The second "bedroom" isn't really a bedroom, just a bigger bed separated from the rest of the twin sized beds dormitory style. There is a master bedroom downstairs. Everything was clean and instructions were clear and helpful. Would stay here again!

This house in the country was the perfect getaway for our family vacation. Delores communicated through the entire process and the house was amazing. Everything we needed was there. The outdoor patio and backyard were great. The kids loved the upstairs room. Would love to stay here again some time.

Staying here has become an annual tradition for our family. My 6 year old draws pictures and writes stories about her favorite place in the world, this farm house. The house has it all, comfortable beds, ample seating indoors and out, a well stocked kitchen and all the entertainment options.
