About this house rental
Enjoy waking up from any bedroom with a view of the ocean. Have your coffee on the balcony of your bedroom or downstairs in a large den full of Windows with unobstructed ocean views. There are 3 bedrooms upstairs that share a balcony with an unobstructed view of the Ocean. The bedrooms upstairs has a wall of windows that face the ocean. You can just lay in bed and watch the ocean roll in with the brown pelicans and other salt air birds enjoying their habitat. There is a 4th bedroom downstairs. There are 3 full bathrooms 2 upstairs and 1 down. The large den Downstairs has a wall of windows that also has an unobstructed full view of the Ocean. The house is located in an upscale subdivision in Crystal beach. In Crystal beach you can rent golf carts to drive on the beach which is one of the many reasons I chose Crystal beach instead of Galveston.

Mold inside the house along with septic issues. The owner rented a porta potty but i didnt pay $816 a night to have to use a porta potty like a public place. I contacted vrbo about this issue but i guess its acceptable to have mold and septic issues, as long as you complain while renting the house. After the stay (which was only 20 hours) then theres nothing they will do about it. As i dont see this being a timely manner to report issues and get a new house to stay in. UNACCEPTABLE ON THE HOST AND VRBO.

This is our second year to stay at this property. The location is excellent. The house is easy to get to from the road. It’s even better because it’s right on the beach. I love looking out the windows over the water. The night time view is beautiful as well with the ships coming in. It’s a very nice place to rest upon the balcony overlooking the beach

This is the 6th time my family has had our vacation at The Salty Lime beach house and each time has been amazing! The house is equipped for every need! There were 5 couples in our group and this was the perfect house! It had plenty of space/beds, the balcony was great and the view was amazing! It was just a short walk to the beach.

They just don’t make places as close to the beach as this house! The view takes the cake, but everything about this rental was perfect. So many (comfy) sleeping options, fully stocked kitchen, kids beach toys, first aid kit, more than enough towels, laundry detergent, hair blow dryer AND straightener, every seasoning you could imagine, board games, I could go on and on… it’s cute, it’s clean, okay I’ll stop! I would recommend getting a golf cart because you have to walk around to get to the walkway and by then you could already be there via cart. I personally like to unpack my suitcase into dressers and luckily I got the only room with one. I would LOVE to stay here again!

We had a small family reunion and celebrated Father’s Day here. The location is wonderful and beach access is easy. The house is set up very well. Loved having one of the bedrooms downstairs and the rest upstairs so that I did not wake everyone up when I started cooking. It also helped to have the bedrooms upstairs away from the living area so the little ones could sleep. The kitchen is wonderful! It had absolutely everything we could want or need. we cooked a lot and there was never the issue of needing something that was not there. Everyone had such a great time And we all enjoyed the decks that look out toward the gulf. Not that this is a make or break on a house… But the decor is so cute! Everyone loved the pictures on the walls. The communication was great as well.

The house is amazing!! We went with 6 adults and 3 kids and we were all very comfortable. The house was clean and tidy. Everything we needed was available. The house is not far from the grocery stores, restaurants or anything you would need. The only complaint we had was the wooden deck chairs don't have a bottom on the cup holder so you can't put a beer can in it!! 😂😂

Enjoyed the house!! The master bedroom upstairs has great views and big bathroom. We did have to take our truck out to beach with everything loaded in back so we didn’t have to make multiple trips. Well worth the beach tag(10.00) . Just make sure you take lots and lots of bug spray. The mosquitoes are out for blood!!!!!! Overall, I would stay again 100%!!!

The location is perfect, with constant sounds of the ocean, beautiful views of the sunrise, & easy walks to the beach.
The house has everything we needed to cook & enjoy meals together. The beds were comfy.
Communication with Renee was beyond easy, exceeding expectations.
This was our second stay at A Salty Lime, & there will definitely be a third.

We were looking for a peaceful setting to watch the eclipse away from the marauding hordes and we found a beautiful, well cared for magical beach house. I’d trade eclipse totality for that experience any day, it was perfect, thank you.

Our church ladies group rented the Salty Lime to attend a conference. The house was so perfect for all of us to have room to rest and get ready. The view of the beach as idealistic. It was a wonderful experience and we will be renting next year as well.
One of the ladies left their wallet and the owner was very kind. No only did she let us know that we left the wallet but mailed it to us. 10 stars!

We love staying at the Salty Lime. The configuration of the bedrooms is great and the beach is pretty with the sunrise views. We had a girlfriends trip and this house was perfect. Reyna is a great host.

We had a nice weekend at The Salty Lime. The house was a nice size for us and we had plenty of room. The location was perfect and just a short walk to the beach. The house is showing some wear & tear. It felt clean and we were comfortable. We also appreciated the beach chairs that were available for use.

The property location is good. The property host was very courteous and responded to my email messages promptly.
There was no internet connection as promised during our entire stay. We could not do the Zoom sessions.
Minor issues for future guests: BBQ grill needed fixing. Bathrooms not 100% clean. Everything else meet expectations. Thanks.

This was our fifth year spending New year's on Bolivar Peninsula, fourth year at the Salty Lime, actually our fifth stay at the Salty Lime. The fact that we keep returning says it all. The location of the house, the amenities provided, easy access to the beach, the space/house itself make for a wonderful time for making memories. Then there is Renee, the host/owner of this beautiful beach house. Renee is wonderful to communicate with and quick to answer any questions or concerns one might have. The Salty Lime is beginning to feel like home to myself and my family, we plan on continuing to make memories here. I already miss my ocean views.

We loved this house! It was an easy walk to the beach with 3 kids that were 4 and under. Beautiful view! The only problem we had was finding the remotes for the smart TVs in bedrooms ( didn't really need to watch tv at the beach though) i sent 3 messages about them while we were there and never got a response. Overall we loved it and had a great time. Would love to go back!

Our extended family has stayed at A Salty Lime several summers now and we always have an amazing time. We range in age from toddlers to adults and it’s so nice to be close enough to the beach to head back to the house for naps, etc. as needed throughout the day. The setup allows us all to have our space within the house and enjoy the living space and large balcony on the first level together.
We can’t wait for our next stay!

Once again Renee and the Salty Lime has given us a wonderful week at the beach. This was our 4th year to stay at the Salty Lime. We love the view it gives us and close proximity to the beach. We look forward to next year and doing it all over again.

We had a group of 11 and the house was very roomy. Plenty of space for all of us. We loved that the beach was just right there. It made it really easy to go down in the morning and not have to worry about getting sand inside our cars at the end of the day. After reading other reviews i made sure we brought everything we needed so we wouldnt have to make the hour drive to galveston but there are a few stores that are local so it was no big deal. We have been going to surfside for years and wanted to change it up a little. The beach was great for my younger two. The waves arent very rough here. It was a great time and we will definitely be back.

I had a few issues during the stay:
The first issue occurred when I didn’t receive any information about keys prior to arrival. I called the contact who stated she forgot. She gave me a number to a lock box, which didn’t work. After a second call and a second lock box code, the keys were available.
The next issue is related to cleanliness. The house had both German cockroaches on the main level & odorous house ants on the second level. Both are attracted to food and filth in homes; I know this because I am an PhD entomologist. Adjacent, the bed linens looked like they had not been freshly washed and the pillows were stained and worn.
I didn’t bring any of these sanitation issues back to the property contact because she stated during my call to her on Day 1 that she was on pain medication from an accident, struggling with communication, & I did not have a secondary contact for the property.
Related to location, this neighborhood does not have beach access via golf cart. Your only option is to walk over the foot bridge or trailer down 87 (golf carts are not allowed on 87).

Just as advertised! What a view of the beach! The house was clean and well taken care of! Renee was very cordial and gracious. We enjoyed meeting on the covered deck to play after a day at the beach! What great family memories!

Beautiful home in a great location, lovely decks to watch the people and listen to the sounds of the ocean. Easy to walk to the beach and play. We had a wonderful stay and would re-book this home again. We did extend our stay an additional couple of nights because it was the perfect place to stay and enjoy everything the area has to offer!

Our family of 9 stayed here Spring Break weekend 2023. Kids (4 plus 3 friends) were 17-23. Me and my husband are 45 & 43. The neighborhood was quiet and the beach was vibing!!! Us old folks watched fun beach from the quiet beach house porch while our kids were on beach in middle of all the fun. There was many families on the beach having so much fun! Rented golf carts were the biggest hit for activities! Beach house is clean and well stocked. It was beautiful! Loved the decor. Our family had a wonderful time and would return.

We loved this beach house! It's perfect for a girls trip since there are plenty of beds for everyone. We liked that there weren't bunk rooms that made us feel like we were staying in a kids room. The beach is fabulous. Beautiful wide brackets with pretty sand dunes. We found lots of shells at low tide. We loved that it's not crowded like Galveston. Just know that trips into Galveston can take a while by ferry. I would highly recommend this house as a getaway!

Beautiful place! Sit and stare at the Gulf all day long. Dogs loved it! Great food in area ... especially seafood. Nice little golf course right down the road. Great host!

We loved everything about this property from the home itself to its location to the beach. The home was equipped with everything we needed to be comfortable and prepare meals for our several days stay. We love to that there was enough space for us to have a boy's room a girl's room and 2 adult rooms We love that there was enough space for us to have a boy's room, a girl's room and 2 parent rooms for our large family's stay.
