A great cabin in a perfect location to explore Lassen National Park. It had all the amenities needed for a comfortable vacation. We highly recommend the cabin.

Pictures and description make it sound like there is a lake view (There isn’t any) it should be added to listing that there is no lake access from property.

Loved this charming cabin-like house with a large deck. The house was well stocked for cooking and serving. The deck and furniture were welcoming for conversation and relaxation. Wooden ceilings provided a more woodsy appeal. The triple switchback tight and steep driveway was pretty fun if you have a 4WD and wanted a challenge. I found it fitting and fun - a skillful challenge, but I'd guess most folks would be mortified. If you have 4WD, I'd engage and consider backing up the whole way. If you don't, I might suggest parking below in a pull out and walking up. The driveway wasn't marked well and on a turn of Highway 147. GoogleMaps didn't help at all. If you turn on Indian Hills Road just to the south, which looks like an option, the folks that live along the private drive might get VERY upset. We had an interesting person yelling at us for quite the time for a simple mistake. Overall, everything was great... and there were unexpected memorable additions.

We enjoyed our stay. Beautiful cabin very roomy. Excellent master with awesome shower.
4.3
Perfect cabin for visit to the lake with family. The cabin is well laid out and felt quite spacious especially because of all the spots to sit out on the deck.
Well equipped with everything needed to prepare meals.
Easy check in and host friendly was quick to respond with any questions.
There is a washer and dryer which was not noted on the reservation details.

We stayed at the cabin for New Year and it was fantastic Cabin has everything you need, good wifi, plenty of bedding and all kitchen supplies. Beautify decorated, plenty of space, amazing deck, just cross from the lake. Owner was very responsive and helpful. We enjoyed every minute of our stay.
4.3
We enjoyed our 3 night stay in the home. Amenities were adequate minus the lack of air conditioning. Would stay again when not peak summer temperatures.
Pros:
Clean and updated property
Kitchen fully equipped
Comfortable beds
Washer and dryer accessibility
Wifi
Cons:
No A/C - only box fans and ceiling fans
(Interior was 84* when arrived)
Steep dirt/gravel driveway (not mentioned)
Trash can located at bottom of the driveway
4.3
The driveway was steeper than explained and a neighbor was yelling at us and even blocked us once!
The house was good except the steep driveway and a neighbor yelling at us while driving in and even blocked the road in once!

This cabin in the pines and near the lake is very well decorated, updated and charming. It is fully equipped for all your cooking needs. The host was willing to fulfill our needs and answer all questions. She listened to suggestions to make other tenants more comfortable for future stays. We enjoyed being near other family members only a short 1/2 mile from us. Convenient location. Thank you Kasha for sharing your beautiful retreat with us. Ramona Schmid, Ione, Ca

I stayed at this property with my family of 3 (2 adults, 1 child). Overall, we had a very nice visit with a few minor issues. The cabin itself was lovely. It was rustic/modern and appeared to have been either recently built or recently remodeled. It was clean and pleasant and surprisingly large for its square footage. The three bedroom were not large but were more than sufficient. The combo of the downstairs living space and the open second-story loft gave the property an open and spacious feeling that we really enjoyed. The owner was communicative and available to help with anything we needed, and the check-in process was as easy as could be. There were no major issues, but there were several minor annoyances that may or may not be important, depending on your needs. We stay in a LOT of vacation rentals (in fact, we're on a six-month road trip now, all of which is being spent in vacation rentals), and this unit had one of the less well-equipped kitchens we've stayed in, in terms of cookware, etc. There were also some odd design decisions that made the stay a little less comfortable. For example, the two upstairs bedrooms had nice, normal-sized closets, but the master bedroom downstairs had only a small half-closet. As a result we had to put most of our hanging clothes in the upstairs bedroom and commute back and forth between the two to get ready and dressed in the mornings. There was also a very large shower in the master bedroom but no towel bar, just one hook next to the shower door. Also, the internet was almost unusably slow. This probably won't be of great importance to most folks who are out for a relaxing lake vacation, but this was partially a work trip for me, so it was noteworthy. Finally, the listing was NOT kidding when it noted the challenges of getting to the property. It was up an incredibly steep dirt driveway. We have 4WD, so this was okay, but I would have felt nervous trying to navigate the driveway without it. Also, because it was one-way, you have to back down the driveway, which was a little nerve-wracking. Bottom line: we had a very nice stay with a few minor irritations. If none of the issues I mentioned bother you, then you'll greatly enjoy this charming, cozy property.

The East Shore of Lake Almanor is rocky and offers very limited public beach access. To find a beach you must drive to the west side.

Great place!
Very nice cabin, nicely decorated and recently renovated. We were pleasantly surprised by everything provided for guest use. We did have a problem with using our wifi to hook up to the DVD player to download Netflix or Hulu material, but let's face it, not the reason we were there. Overall a comfortable place that I would rent again.

had a good stay at this nice mountain home.
took a little searching to figure out the public access to the lake.
it's straight across from the mailboxes.
we put down our own anchor/ bout and played for 5 days.. it's about a 1/4 mile walk.
we did check out Westwood beach just a 1/4 mile farther down the road it's nice to.

The house is lovely.
Few things to keep in mind
There is no AC which means it is hot and there are no fans, so bring fans lots of fans.
The house faces into the sun all day and they have no shade or umbrellas on the patio so bring some. We brought two canopies that covered the whole deck and made the sun not shine in though the glass windows all day which helped to keep it cool.
We thought of this place as upgraded camping, we had a bed and a shower but no AC or internet/wifi. We spent most of our time on the beach.
They said the water was right across the street and this was true but it is all private property and you have no access so we drove to the damn and played on the free beaches everyday.
The kitchen says it is fully stocked but it is not. Bring your own spices.
We really did have a great time just be prepared.

Comfy cabin with a great deck
Great cabin for a family or two -- compact but plenty of room, with a fantastic, big deck for lounging and stargazing. There is not direct lake access, but we found a nice little beach a few miles down the road. The driveway is very steep with loose gravel - we barely made it up with our front-wheel drive.

Exquisite!
It's very clear, the owners took much care to ensure a luxurious stay for their guests. Besides a new and beautifully decorated home (yes, the pictures are real...no creative angles or lighting!) the owners stocked the home with amenities (soaps, towels, games, movies, loads of kitchenware, etc) that were not only plush but themed and decorative! As we were new to Almanor and arriving late at night, the owners helped much to connect with me and give detailed instructions on the approach to the house as it isn't as obvious as finding the address and pulling into the driveway. The lack of WiFi just meant more family time instead of screen time for the teenagers...a huge surprise and blessed bonus. We've stayed at many vacation rentals globally, this is a family consensus favorite! Only two things to be aware of. 1) Steep gravel driveway: We had a big heavy truck that needed to be shifted into 4WD to get up the driveway. Traction on the way down was an issue for us. We decided to park at the bottom of the hill and walk up. 2) Train is close enough that morning air horns can be heard if windows are open. We closed the bedroom windows and slept well.
Overall highly recommended!

Fantastic
The only issue was no WiFi or cable. TVs are hooked to Blu Ray player only. Need to put that in the description. Other than that perfect newer unit.
