We loved the location and how close it was to the town! We walked there and it was close to the beach as well!
We loved the eclectic decor and the size was just right for us- 6 adults and a dog.
One side note is the walls were thin, so if you’re an early to sleep, or like to sleep in, keep that in mind - or take the master which is a little separated from the other rooms.
I appreciate the check ins from Vacasa about how the stay was going and how the cleanliness was upon arrival. They also were helpful in getting someone to come over for a maintenance issue(sink clogged because of electrical issue with the garbage disposal) - although there wasn’t anything he could do.

Loved this unique cottage with art history loaded with classic Latin painted tile work. Just short walk to beaches and downtown and park. Needs yard overgrowth cleanup and pesticide improvement.

Uniquely decorated and very comfortable.

We loved the style of this cozy cabin and the location close to the park, beach and downtown. Plenty of space for 6. Lovely! We’ll be back.

Inside of house was clean and served our needs well. Location was great, close to a nice park and Bearskin Neck. Outside was not what I call lush, you can barely see the house from the road. New outside photos should be taken.

Close to sites, large enough and very eclectic in decorations. Unfortunately there was a bad mold or mildew oder in the master bathroom

The property was beautiful and included all that we needed.
However, the previous guest filled the exterior garbage cans to the top and the garbage was not disposed of during our 5 day stay. We had to bring our trash out each day and dispose of it ourselves which was a nuisance.

really loved the house, perfect for the family and our dogs - we had a great w/e in Rockport

House was great. Beds were very comfortable. Very interesting library and little surprises around every corner. Quiet, yet walkable to downtown

Overall, it was a comfortable place to stay. Not much of a yard for your dog but otherwise no complaints.

I love this house and have stayed here before, gave it a 4 because the yard was full of leaves and you couldn’t see the walkways also a dining room chair was clearly broken but left in a main spot where someone would sit. I did contact the management team and they were quick to respond. Will definitely stay there again.

I have stayed here before. We do love it . Kitchen is great. Not the best rental for Summer months. There is no yard but we go in October. Please update the Ki g bed in the Master bedroom. It lays on like a board or something and needs a box spring. The yard needs serious updating. Very overgrown and in need of some maintenance. Be careful walking over the rocks , there’s no clear path. Only parking for 2 cats . Very hard to maneuver in. Overall the place is a great location to stay. Half a mile to the train and the beach. Don’t forget to go to Bearskin Neck!!

The house is absolutely charming!

Better than a five star hotel, the cottage has spacious rooms, warm, lively decor throughout, beautiful bathrooms, a well-equiped kitchen and comfy sofas and chairs. The beaches and main street of Rocport are just a short walk away. We would rent this place again and again!

Overall the location, cleanliness, and the tasteful finish of kitchen/bathrooms/living room was outstanding hence the 5. Had a few different way for cooling in different rooms (fans, mini split, ceiling fan), but house kept cool and without dampness during high 80's weather. The 2 full baths were great for us with 2 toddlers. Plenty of towels, tp, dish soap, shampoo, paper towels, etc.. all the stuff a lot of places forget to restock.
Bedrooms where clean and comfy, but the king bed needs a box spring, it's just 2 mattresses stakes and the top one kept shifting off one side.
Now the nits:
Almost rates a 4 due to outside being meh, but we weren't there for the lawn and mostly at the beach or walking the town. Still, really needs a little cleanup of overgrowth, was annoying pushing stroller through encroaching weeds in the entrance path (I couldn't just use driveway as my vehicle left no room to squeeze by). The front door screen was torn out of frame which wasn't a big deal, using ac anyhow, but if I did want fresh air, bugs would be an issue. Lastly, the bottom stone step on entrance is not secure and if carrying something (like a toddler) can tilt forwad--this pretty big safety concern, Id recommend they address soon as conrete or masonry adhesive is cheaper than lawsuits.

We love this location. The house is comfortable and has so many charming features.
Our only major complaint is that the outside garbage bin was not emptied from the prior renters and there was no place to put garbage outside. This also made the small area that was represented as usable outdoor space extremely unpleasant.
I communicated this at least 4 times to the host. They kept responding thanking us for sharing that info but it was not taken care of. I am actually wondering if I was communicating with an actual person since the responses seemed quite automated.
Other than that, the inside was clean and comfortable.

Property was great.
Property management no so hot.
Answered my questions by saying all I needed to do was read their email. The lack of info in there was why I had called.
Basically it boiled down to lack of a folder with the owners expectations of us upon leaving and no local info of places to eat or visit. All other VRBO we have used had lots ideas. Also, no coffee, tea, creamer, filters for coffee pot or hand soap or kleenex in bathrooms. I presume this is a management issue.
The counter tops were dirty. Had to clean area next to refrigerator and by the coffee pot.
Don't plan to be able to park a truck of large SUV in the allotted spaces, they are tight.

I'd 100% stay here again. Location was just what I was expecting. The house all all the amenities necessary. My only complaint and I wouldn't even call it a complaint, is the yard was a little overgrown to where you couldn't access the second parking spot. Over-all that in no way took away from my experience, we only had one vehicle so there was no need to have access to the other parking spot.

Great spot close to the park and a short walk to front beach and bear skin neck! We really enjoyed our stay!

This is a wonderful small house in Rockport. It's in a very quiet location, but within easy walking distance to Front Beach and the shops on Main St. and Bear Skin Neck. The house has a nice useful kitchen and comfortable living room. We had a very good stay here. There are 2 small parking spaces.

This is walking distance to the beach, wharf, and charming Rockport. The parking is tight but this little house is so charming and eclectic you won’t mind at all. Beautiful curated decor and so much light make this feel like home.

The house was a good size for our family of 5 plus dog. (We chose the place because we could bring our dog.) The location was convenient. The house was clean and comfortable and with fun decor. We were able to make a few meals in the kitchen. We had no complaints.

We booked this for a weekend in Salem but everything was booked. I am so happy this place was available and affordable. It is such a unique and cozy home. Perfect for our Halloween getaway. The beach is walking distance. The host was reachable via text/message and I love that. Very quiet. We wish we could’ve met the owner of the house because of how unique the place is. The town is so quaint and nice. Only downside was we had a suburban and a F350 pickup. Only the suburban could (barely) fit in the designated parking. We had to make do with the truck, but overall it was awesome. We tried to extend it but lucked out. Love the place!

We enjoyed our pet-friendly accommodations, and had a great stay on Cape Ann, but I’ve gotta point out a few issues:
• Previous renters garbage/recycles were left in the bins in the kitchen,
• No extra toilet paper,
• No yard at all - grill & dining table is on the unkept/overgrown driveway

We stayed here this past weekend and thought we would give our best impression of this place. While you can get the gist of this house from the other reviews on this site (and on other sites as well), there was one thing missing from all them... the smell of cat urine. Certainly the house has charm, with its eclectic and interesting decor; modern kitchen and bathrooms; comfy beds and its within walking distance to downtown, parks and beaches. The house was very clean... it's just that smell… some others have said the place smelled musty, but trust me, it’s cat urine! We opened some windows, bought some air fresheners, cooked fragrant food and eventually the smell lessened, but never really went away. It wasn't unbearable, but you should know it's definitely there. Other mild complaints (but not deal-breakers): the two off street parking spaces are tight (we wedged our largest vehicle in one and never moved it); the landscaping is lackluster (but we knew this and really didn’t come to look at that); One of the exterior lights doesn’t work and neither were on when we checked in at night; There was trash strewn about the side yard from where an animal got into the trash, The dishes in the kitchen could be updated (every glass is for some form of alcohol (highballs, beer mugs, wine glasses… but nothing for our kids (or us) to use) and it needs some real microwave safe plates (the ones provided get very hot in the microwave!), The furniture could be updated and some of it is falling apart (luckily I brought a screwdriver to fix what I could), the double shower is awesome, but the hot water doesn't last very long, so go first, or be prepared to have your shower cut short! Finally, there was no extra toilet paper provided in the house. Two rolls.. that’s it! Sadly we didn’t realize this until 10:00 pm on our last night there. For the price paid I don’t think that we should have to ration toilet paper. All in all, it’s a decent place to stay if you can overcome this place’s shortcomings (we did).

Checkin was super easy. The house location was fine. The decor was really cute. The house had a really funky smell. The bathroom grout had mold in the shower and the sink. The toilet seat was loose and really unusable because of it. The smell was bad and stuck to our clothes. Unfortunately the animals also got into the trash and their wasn’t a good place for us to throw ours away. Maybe the people before us cooked something foul.

This home ii convenient to everything. It is a short walk to the Mill Pond Park and ocean. It is also within walking distance to Bearskin Neck. The home is well equipped with everything needed from the kitchen to linens and washer/dryer. This is our second time staying in this property, and we hope to do so again next year.

much better than a hotel where i would have had to get 2 rooms for 4 people. cheaper than hotels in salem at halloween. easy walk to rockport and 20 min to salem

The character of the Vintage Rockport Escape is unsurpassed! The colors, the warmth, the coziness were all very pleasing. The place was clean and comfortable. An easy walk to the public shopping area.

Great quiet place. Walk to Bearskin is easy if individual doesn't have mobile requirements. A park is located about a block away right down the road...great for kids to run and get their energy out. We took our dog there daily. The house is super nice. The showers were great..laundry accomodations are a nice feature. We had a wonderful 4-day stay. 2-car parking as advertised...jus back in...super easy.

It has everything you could want. The owners were so accommodating to our requests. The decor is very cute. I recommend you book it as it's a great place to stay.

We absolutely loved this cottage! It does not have the greatest curb appeal , but once you go inside you won’t want to leave! The kitchen . Amazing. We loved the decor, copper sink, fully stocked and refrigerator had an ice/ water machine. One drawer was cracked ( not by us ) . We even found a cast iron pan! My favorite. Living room adorable decor, pretty lamps ! Very comfy I loved all the tvs in the house and dining room table was perfect. Washer dryer right off the dining area. Bedrooms perfect ! I love how the master is down the hallway with its own private bathroom! The bathrooms are the coolest tiles! Even the toilets match ! It was fantastic. King size bed and all linens were clean and super fresh smelling! I didn’t want to get out of bed! I have to say the doors were weird . Front door leads into a bedroom so we used the door off the side driveway. There’s no yard , just a table and chairs on the driveway with the grill so if that’s important to you, but we were inside the whole time. We took a walk to an awesome park with a pond .the house is on a dead end but there’s a little street across that leads to Forest Ave. 0.2 miles to town!! You must eat at Two Little Birds eatery by the beach! So delicious and cute. Overall we LOVED IT. Only negatives are please put locks on basement doors . There are two entrances into the basement and a trap door that lifts up into the kitchen with no lock. We had me and three females teenagers, so safety to me is very important. Rockport is beautiful and safe but locks would make me feel better.. sorry I’m from NY and there’s crazy people everywhere. Only other thing is the fees are substantial with this rental. There was garbage not cleaned up on the side of the house and the cleaning crew left the dishwasher full so we had to empty it on arrival. Kind of annoying after paying hundreds in a cleaning fee! But we LOVED THE COTTAGE.

Eccentric interior designs are not for everyone, but rooms are spacious, welcoming, with flat screen wall mounted tvs everywhere. Was apparently owned by a composer. (scores and a parlor organ). Two private parking spots.

Somewhat eccentric interior design with lots of space, and comfy bedrooms and baths. A great kitchen tops it all off. We did not find the busy decor off-putting, but some might.
