Villa 3 at Villas By The Cove is a stand-alone, single story 1 bedroom Villa Suite with ocean views. Its prime location is just steps from two of South Maui's most popular white sand beaches. Newly remodeled, and conveniently located, this 600 sq. ft. 1 bedroom villa offers ocean views, privacy and comfort set back in a tropical lush garden filled with mango and palm trees. Villa 3 sleeps two adults in one King bed and one adult or two small children on the full size sofa bed in the living room. The King bed can be reconfigured in to two twin beds upon request.
Experience an older Hawaiian style charm with a modern twist in this newly remodeled villa that was originally built as a beach bungalow in the 1950's. Villa 3 features an ocean view from the lanai, a living room with A/C, high speed wifi, a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable king bed, full bathroom with a walk-in shower, and private gated parking conveniently located next to the villa front door. Designed to feel like a second home, this villa is conveniently supplied with all of your travel-related “extra” needs such as an iron and ironing board, tupperware, wine glasses, dishwasher soap capsules, beach towels, and a clothes drying rack for wet swimsuits after playing in the ocean across the street. Basics such as bath towels, linens, kitchen rags, a set of travel size shampoo and soap, dish soap, salt, pepper, and olive oil are provided as well. Two communal gas bbq grills and a complimentary washer and dryer are located on property and laundry detergent is provided.
2 beach chairs, 2 boogie boards, 1 beach umbrella and 1 cooler are provided for your sun-filled days at the beach. Villas by the Cove is located 25 feet from The Cove Beach Park where guests can mingle with locals, take surf lessons or body surf in The Cove's consistent small waves. Charley Young Beach, a long stretch of white sand ideal for beach walks and swimming, is another local favorite that's located at the end of the street, about a one minute walk from the property front gate.
For the active and adventurous traveler, our prime location offers easy access to sun bathing, swimming, surfing, snorkeling, diving, stand up paddle boarding, kayaking and whale watching. Also a golfers' paradise with nearby world class golf clubs less than 10 minutes away in Wailea and Makena. Restaurants, shops, nightlife, cafes, farmer's markets, and Kalama Park are within a 5-10 minute walk from Villas By The Cove.

Great property, excellent and clean place with nice amenities. The only problem is the public park next door with load music late into the night but I would still come back.

Pros: great central neighborhood next to everything, amazing to have a unit with a kitchen, super helpful gated parking area, beach essentials included in the rental, units are generally nice and clean, price/value ratio is excellent, truly excellent management communication and vibe, laundry on site
Cons: some of the components of the units are cheap or unfinished, decent amount of road noise (earplugs worked), beds are high quality but have some significant depressions from use, families spend all day at the pool so privacy is highly dependent on the villa you get.
Overall thought this place was good value and I especially appreciated the quality and speed of management communication. I would stay here in the future - would just strategically choose the villa with the best location. Thank you!

We stayed ten nights in Villa 3 and it was wonderful! The villa is very comfortable and the whole property is beautiful. As others have noted, it can get a bit noisy given the proximity to busy South Kihei road, but it wasn't terrible. It can be a bit difficult getting in and out of Iliili road from and to South Kihei.
The cove park across the street was wonderful for sunsets and watching surfers, paddleboarders, kayakers, etc. And Charley Young beach down the street was great for swimming and snorkeling (fish, turtles, etc).
There were some things missing from the kitchen (e.g. scissors, sink stopper, etc) but we just grabbed these from Safeway.
The communal areas were great. We enjoyed the small pool and laying out around the pool. The pavilion is wonderful for hanging out in the shade or chilling with an adult beverage in the evening. The music which played all the time was nice, but the playlist was a little limited ( a lot of repeats). The sunsets were great from the pavilion and we could watch the whales while standing on the pool deck.
For most of our stay the only others staying were adults. However, in the latter part of our stay families with small kids arrived bringing a lot of noise to the small common area, but that can happen anywhere.
The washer/dryer were great. And the Rubbermaid container full of snorkeling gear was awesome.
The villas are a really nice alternatives to the all of the condo-only options available on Maui. We will be back!!!

We travelled all over Maui and decided that if/when we returned we wouldn’t stay anywhere else. The place is perfectly located, perfectly decorated, and so well thought out. It had everything we needed for the beach, all we needed for cooking, Bluetooth radio, free yoga, and even free paddle boards and surfboards. We loved the community grill, the shower to rinse off after a day in the water, the outdoor seating area, gated parking, and because it is a smaller property, it felt like the pool was ours. Most places do not sit directly on the beach and if they do, there is grass or rocks out front, not the traditional beach I am used to on the East Coast. So I was skeptical about being “across the street” from the water. But the street is basically an alley, and is just steps from the PERFECT spot to paddle board, surf, and fish. Plus, if you want to lay on the beach, you have two great options within a block. One smaller beach and Charley Young beach which is expansive and beautiful. We have stayed at the Four Seasons and many other fine resorts, and this little gem sits right up there with them. We do not have anything but praise for this charming, well-outfitted and fresh surfer’s paradise. Kudos to the owners and managers.

Our stay here has been perfect. The accommodations, location, staff and facilities are top notch. We have been to Maui many times over the years and are so glad to have finally found the perfect place for us to stay on all our future visits.

A great place to stay in Maui
This was one of our favorite places to stay in Maui during our 10 day visit. We and our sons enjoyed the pool, the easy access to the ocean and the ability to use the provided boogie boards, paddle boards and surfboards. We'd definitely consider coming to stay again!

AMAZING BEST PLACE TO STAY!!!
My husband and I stayed here for 5 days for our 10 year anniversary and it was amazing! Best location, amazing place and great communication with the property manager and owner. If we needed anything they would take care of it right away! the property itself was beautiful, pool, lounge chairs, yoga studio, it was best place we have ever stayed at! Highly recommend for a couple, family or girls or guys trip!!!

Wonderful location in Kihei !
Pictures of property accurate and a wonderful location. Kihei road behind property, noise not an issue, side street in front with 5 steps to beach across from property or walk down side street to entry to a larger beach. Easy to carry chairs,boogie boards, umbrella, and cooler (all provided with unit) to the beach down the road. Turtles a wonderful surprise ! Would stay here again over any condo ! Highly recommend. Didn't use the barbecue, pool was nice to take a quick dip in after day at the beach.

Fantastic unit and location
We stayed at Villa #3 for 4 nights and really enjoyed it. The Villa is 1st class all the way, freshly updated and super clean. We were right next to Cove beach and shops. They had surfboards and SUPs to use, boogie bds, chairs, cooler, drying rack. Nice pool & outdoor shower & private gated parking. Again, 1st class grounds and unit .My wife and 11 yr old boy loved this place for the tiny waves (April is a low season for west side waves) and great snokeling (lots of turtles and fish and even a manta ray). HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place!

Great Location, Excellent property
Beautiful villa that was recently updated and has everything you need. They even had beach chairs, and umbrella and giant cooler for us to use.
Can't beat the location, literally across from the cove. Drink your coffee while watching the surfers.
Very friendly staff.

Elegant villa, amazing location
The villa itself is exquisite, attention to detail is evident. The grounds and the pool are likewise quite impressive. A cove is just across the street where you can watch surfers or surf yourself. Just up the street is a small hidden beach, perfect for getting some Sun.

Amazing intimate spot in Kihei.
Everything was perfect. Really, we had an amazing time at this location. Couldn't imagine a better spot to make it easy to get to any part of the island. Such a beautiful property and perfectly maintained. We'll for sure stay here again the next time we are on the island.

The most enjoyable stay on Maui.
We really enjoyed the entire stay at Villas by the Cove. They are close to the beach, park and shopping. The unit had everything needed for our week long stay and was very well maintained. I liked that it was a small park like feel. Only 8 units so it didn't feel like a big hotel. We bought some groceries so we didn't have to eat out for every meal. They had a cooler, beach chairs, umbrella and other items that we used often for the beach. It was perfect and I definitely recommend it for anyone who wants a more lical experience of Maui. We will definitely stay here again. In the mornings and evenings we enjoyed our view of the ocean from our patio. It's directly across the street. The only improvement I would like to see is central A.C. to replace the wall unit which was a bit noisy, but kept the unit very cool. I liked having our parking covered and directly in front of the unit. It was very convenient. Our unit was a single unit with no adjoining units so it felt very private and was very quiet as well. The grounds are well maintained and manager was responsive and helpful. I can't say enough about what a pleasure it was to stay here!

An enjoyable few days in Maui
We found the accommodations very comfortable. We enjoyed eating all of our meals on the patio in the shade of the big tree out front. Nice to get a slight view of the ocean from our table.
The sunsets were spectacular.
A few areas for improvement are:
Sliding door needs work and a screen. Hard to open and close.
Traffic noise is deplorable. We don't like air conditioning and opened the windows for cross ventilation. We can't think of a solution for this except have police clamp down on high noise vehicles and enforce speed limit.
The ceiling fan is out of balance and makes noise.
The light bulb over the vanity was burnt out, no sugar as advertised and maid said there was none, door lock was hard to open. Need to pay attention to details.
We didn't see you around the property except when we arrived.

Best "Boutique" Resort in South Kihei
This was our first stay at the Maui Cove Park Inn, and it will definitely not be our last. The cottages are absolutely precious, and the new owners are beyond helpful. We made a last minute booking, and although we could not stay at one cottage the entire time, Chelsea made sure that we had a place to lay our heads each night. The units are perfect for a couples get away, all very unique, and well stocked for the perfect Maui vacation. They even go as far as making sure you have everything you need to enjoy a perfect day at the beach. Cove Park and Charley Young, two of the best beaches in South Maui, are just a few steps away. Cove Park is PERFECT for the surfer/paddle boarder in your party, or if hanging out and building sand castles is your ideal day, then Charley Young is the best place in Maui for that. The units are all exceptionally clean, and the grounds are beautifully kept. I would recommend Cove Park Inn to anyone looking for a Maui getaway. Its the perfect location for all things Maui.

Great for large family gathering
There were 24 of us (counting 2 babies) staying in the 8 bottom units. We totally enjoyed the privacy we felt as a group, with several dinner gatherings easily done on the property. Because the units are facing each other, we were able to see each other as much as we wanted. The kids (and adults) had a great time playing hide and go seek type games in the dark, which we felt safe with since all of the units we had were ground floor. Several of us rented bikes, and enjoyed the easy access to them. Going to the beach was super easy, as people would come and go at all times. Being by the park was great, as we had several skate-boarders in the group. Walking out to dinner, or to get a coffee, was very convenient. We couldn't have asked for a better situation for this large of a group.
