About this house rental
Tanda Tula means ‘place of peace’ in the Zulu language, and you will find the gated home and its grounds the perfect place to relax. On 1.25 flat, landscaped acres, and surrounded by vineyards, the property consists of a main house opening onto a pool, hot tub and gardens, as well as a private cottage, a barn and a studio.
Main House
The house consists of three stylishly appointed bedrooms, with one large tub for two, and showers in the two bathrooms. The beds all have Duxiana, Simmons Beautyrest or similar hotel quality mattresses with high thread count Egyptian cotton linens, and down duvets and pillows. There is a California king in two of the rooms, and a queen in the third.
The living and dining room are furnished with modern country pieces and wine country artwork on the walls. A wood burning stove and 42 inch flat panel TVs with DirectTV and DVD player provide comfortable areas to relax around a game or to watch a movie. A high quality Sonos music system and ceiling mounted speakers throughout the house provide rich music for your stay, controllable from your phone, and wireless internet and a computer are available if you wish to stay connected.
A modern kitchen with Subzero refrigerator and 5 burner chefs stove with warming tray provides everything needed for the most delicious meals. Coffee maker, French press, toasting oven, mixer, waffle maker and Wusthof chef knives are among the many appliances and accessories to this well equipped kitchen.
The home is equipped with both heating and air conditioning for all seasons, as well as washer and dryer. Large French doors bring the outdoors and views of the vineyards inside from every direction.
A mains connected Weber barbeque is available on the deck for outdoor cooking.
The patio offers a modern concrete firepit and comfortable lounge sofas for enjoying a cheese plate and a glass of wine, while a large rustic outdoor table seats 10 comfortably under the filtered shade of the arbor. French style café tables and chairs offer additional seating under the redwood or walnut trees, and adirondacks by the pool or on the lawn are another lovely choice for relaxing.
Cottage
The cottage is newly remodeled and private, with open beams and a sliding barn door, sleeping two on a queen bed, and another two on a futon. Ceiling fan, heating and air conditioning help offer a good nights sleep. Well appointed shower, Bluetooth music system and flat panel TV are further amenities.
Gardens and Pool
The gardens offer a large lawn for throwing a ball, or a game of croquet, surrounded by palette of wine country grasses, olive trees, and a little vineyard with 8 different varietals of table grapes. Fruit trees include persimmons, plums, apples, figs, pears, nectarines, pomegranates and cherries, while a seasonal herb and tomato garden are yours to enjoy.
The regulation size bocce court offers another great way to enjoy an afternoon.
The hot tub warms up quickly to 104 degrees and the pool is solar heated to extend the season for its enjoyment. Several modern chaise lounges and large adjustable umbrellas set the scene for a perfect day by the pool.
Studio
The Studio is a classic, small and private wine country cabin, next to the main house, recently remodeled, and consisting of a well-appointed room with queen bed, 42” flat panel TV and Xbox, with beautiful French doors opening onto a private patio with French café table and chairs, in the shade of a mature redwood tree, and with commanding views of the pool and garden. The studio is detached from the main house and does not have its own bathroom, so may be more suitable for day use, depending on your needs.
Barn
The barn is the perfect place to enjoy a game of pool or table tennis, or for the kids to hang out and listen to music or play on the back deck.

My 2 children, spouse, parent, and I stayed at this breathtaking property. We used their private chef and made an already special trip exceptional. There was tons of space and privacy, just what we were hoping for!

Tanda Tula was the perfect oasis for my friends and I for a weekend in Healdsburg. The property is an absolute dream, so beautifully decorated and clean. The grounds were so beautiful! There was something for everyone to do and plenty of space for relaxation. The property manager was very friendly and communicative and made our stay simple and enjoyable. Would recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in the area, you won't regret it!

Property was great! 3 beds 2 baths in main house, two studios with bedrooms in separate structures. A game/media room and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything you would need! Pool and hot tub was perfect and lots of other activities like bocce and Cornhole. Was a great stay!

We really enjoyed our stay. The house is very well stocked, the yard and pool are amazing and location is perfect for Healdsburg and Geyserville. We would definitely rent again (and probably will). Thank you!

Our extended family of 10 has stayed at Tanda Tula several times. We always find it to be magical, providing all the basics and adding extras like the bocce court with fairy lights above the court, a fire pit in a mini vineyard with a lounge for relaxing and stargazing, a separate building with a pool table, a movie screen and more. The pool and hot tub are always a pleasure, and should we need help or advice about anything, that is only a text away. The main house is beautifully equipped and welcoming. We will return!

We have stayed at Tanda Tula as a 10 person three generational family multiple times, and have always been delighted. This time we made a point of enjoying all of the varied activities offered. We relaxed and exercised in the pool; we played outdoor games with the many toys stored away for guest use; the hot tub was a welcome warmup spot; we played bocce at cocktail hour under those fun string lights; we played games of billiards and had cocktail hour another night in that space; and we had a little contained bonfire in the fire pit in the vineyard, sipping coffee and having dessert under the stars. Our family music night was a delight in the living room with room for all, and the well stocked kitchen saw our family chefs happily producing gourmet food for all. The setting for all of this and more was great--comfy beds, bathrooms that had all we needed. We just can't say enough good things about this property. We will return.

What an absolutely amazing wine country experience! We had a family reunion for my husband’s 60th birthday at Tanda Tula and this beautiful property surpassed our highest expectations. From the host Elise’s gracious and communicative interaction, to the beaucolic setting, comfortable bedrooms and living spaces, and fully stocked kitchen, our celebration was truly memorable. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub, the beautifully landscaped gardens, fruit from the plum trees and the bed in the vineyard. We extended our stay another day because we didn’t want to leave. And when my grandaughter lost her precious pearl necklace on Tanda Tula’s lawn, and we had already left the property, the kindest of caretakers dropped everything and immediately went on a search for it. The necklace was indeed found and we are back home now dreaming of our next stay in this beautiful corner of Dry Creek Valley. Do not hesitate to book this beautiful home. We will certainly be back for an even longer stay.

We loved all of the amenities and room to spread out. Perfect for our group (2 families with teens). Very conveniently located for biking, wine tasting, and Healdsburg nearby.

I am too afraid to really tell everyone how much we loved this house and property because we want to come back next year and don’t want it taken. Gorgeous grounds, great location. Perfect for a family gathering. Can’t wait to return.

Heaven in Healdsburg
We were completely blown away by this property in Healdsburg. Sometimes the photos on VRBO seem just a little too perfect, and the house ends up a disappointment. NOT the case with this home- pictures can not do it justice. From the extraordinarily well stocked kitchen to the amazing game room, luxurious amenities and thoughtful details (a bottle of water and flowers in each room?!), this place does not let you down. And then there is the exterior, with it's stunning pool and magazine-worthy landscaping and features- bocce, fire pits, a bed in a "vineyard". We will definitely be back!

Spectacular and fun
Such a beautiful and fun property! All of the outdoor areas were so special and fun for all to enjoy. The outdoor shower under the redwood trees was a huge hit Plenty of space and activities for the kids to spread out, and the property was so well stocked with toys, games, and pool floats. Every detail was really thought through and we didn't need anything. The pool table"barn" was also so special. The host Elisa was very helpful and also understanding and gracious. We would recommend this property to anyone and we loved it so much!

Amazing Getaway Weekend At Tanda Tula!
We celebrated my 40th birthday with a number of friends (all left kids behind at home) at Tanda Tula and had the most wonderful time. From the moment we set foot on the property we knew we weren't going to leave until we had to. It felt luxurious without being over the top. Nice touches everywhere added to that - lovely coffee and tea selection, wonderful seating areas all over, water bottles in the bedroom. We felt so well taken care of. We're already dreaming of returning! Thank you Elisa for a truly special vacation.

What a treat to stay at this beautiful home. The property manager Elisa was incredibly helpful and responsive. The photos don’t even begin to capture the beauty and comfort of this property. THE MOST AMAZING PROPERTY OF MY LIFE

Perfect Healdsburg escape
The property location couldn't be better - it's surrounded by vineyards in the Dry Creek Valley, but very close to the wineries and a short drive to downtown. As great at the photos are, the property is even more amazing in-person. It's a great blend of modern and comfort, and there are so many fun and thoughtful surprises like the game room, bed in the vineyard, multiple fire-pits, and basketball hoop. We would definitely stay here again.

Wedding weekend
We were in Healdsburg for a wedding and found this fabulous house. The house is exactly the way the pictures show....simply beautiful and comfortable. The outdoor space was our favorite to hang by the pool and relax and enjoy the view. We definitely hope to return. We miss it already!!

Complete Package in Dry Creek Valley
This well maintained, beautiful property had everything we needed (and more) for a long weekend getaway for a group of 8 adults. Landscaping/gardens were top notch, the pool was perfect. Lots of extras like the detached entertainment barn, bocce, Sonos, pool floats, ping pong, outdoor fireplaces, etc. Communication before, during and after the stay was a breeze with Elisa. Property instructions were clear and well thought out - both the property info packet and laminated instructions around the house. We loved our stay. All around fantastic!

MAGICAL!
The property is pure magic in every way -- from the house to the stunning grounds to the swimming pool/hot tub, bocce, game barn with billiards, basketball, and ping pong, views far and wide of vineyards.....plus perfect location on west dry creek road and short drive to downtown Healdsburg and proximity to many world class wineries.....we will be back!

Magical place
We had a small family reunion and loved everything about this magical place. We enjoyed the pool, jacuzzi, bocce court, played basketball, stargazed, made smores, and ate out on the amazing patio every night watching the gorgeous view. We also liked the cottage and barn bedrooms which allowed for the kids and 1 couple to have their separate spaces. Everything was clean, plenty of towels, linens, soaps etc. Communication and checking in/out was seamless. Thank you!

Over the Top Family Celebration
Our nuclear family--12 of us--spent a weekend at Tanda Tula to celebrate the fact that we could all be together again after Covid. We would give this property more than five stars if we could. It was the perfect place for our family celebration, and our third time staying at this property. We loved the idea of having separate places to "nest". The main house has three bedrooms and two baths; there is a wonderful cottage with a bath and also a separate studio bedroom. All of the sleeping spaces are equipped with great linens and really comfortable beds. Added since our last visit were outside showers with special soaps available, and a bed for lounging and stargazing in the vineyard. The kitchen suited our chef-in-residence well, and the meals that were produced with ease were spectacular. Eating outside with all the outside romantic lighting was a joy. We spent a great deal of time in the pool, which in the summer is such a treat. There are so many things to do on the property--play bocce ball, use the pool toys, shoot basketball, play pool in the big outbuilding that's also equipped for media use--and more. It's apparent that a lot of thought and care goes into maintaining Tanda Tula. We loved our stay--and we will be back!

Magical Property
We have stayed at Tanda Tula several times. It is a very special property with excellent views, pool, hot tub, fire pits, billiards and more. Each time we visit you can tell they add something new to improve the property and the overall experience. While it is a bit expensive it is worth it for a memorable and relaxing experience.

Wine country perfection!
This was our second stay at Tanda Tula and it was everything we could have asked for. We were 4 couples and it was perfectly spacious and laid out. The pool and hot tub are great, the house is beautifully and functionally appointed. The game room was enjoyed. The location is perfect for winery hopping.. Host’s communication was timely and helpful. Really, nothing needs improving. Next time, we’ll make it 3 nights instead of 2..... we didn’t want to leave!

Wow!
What a beautiful property! You couldn’t ask for a better wine country vacation stay. I almost don’t want to review it because I hope it’s available in the future and not completely booked!
The main house is super open and comfortable with vineyard and pool views. The other buildings are also super comfy and well appointed.
The pool and hot tub were perfect, the lawns are gorgeous, and the landscaping is beautiful.
We’ll be back!

Paradise found!
A group of vaccinated friends and I gathered at Tanda Tula for a wine country Mother's Day getaway. Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer! It is such a stunning property -- I kept having to remind myself that the view wasn't a fake Zoom background! The perfect place to unplug poolside and enjoy the hot tub, firepits, and bocce court. The house is so well-appointed and property manager was incredibly responsive. We were even connected to a local chef who cooked us the most amazing dinner to enjoy al fresco! Another highlight was the 5-minute walk to Martorana Family Vineyards for an awesome picnic lunch and wine tasting. The only bummer of the whole trip was some Saturday construction noise across the street (which may have been an anomaly), and a blown fuse that was resolved right away. We can't wait to come back to Tanda Tula -- next time for 3 nights instead of 2!

Great time at Tanda Tula
We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Tanda Tula. There were two negative reviews prior to our stay that had me very nervous. The property manager Elisa reassured me prior to our stay that all would be clean and well and she was correct. The house was very clean, the grounds were fantastic, and the location is excellent. There are so many things to do at the house including bocci ball, outdoor ping pong, pool, hot tub, pool table, basketball, movie theater, garden, corn hole, rafts, walks to near by vineyards etc. The property manager went out of her way to help and was super responsive. There were robes in each room, the kitchen well stocked, shampoo and conditioner, gas heaters, wood for fires with starter material, and plenty of towels. Be aware that the main house has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, there is a guest cottage with king bedroom and bathroom and another bedroom in a cottage that does not have a bathroom. The accommodations worked very well for my family and we all had a great time. Not sure what happened with the two prior guests stay but all of us had a great time and I would not be hesitant to recommend a friend to stay at Tanda Tula when visiting Healdsburg. The views from the residence were awesome as well. Highly recommend this place.

First tough review in a long time for me. For the pros, we selected this home for a family getaway based on the space and grounds. Fantastic location near the Dry Creek wineries, great pool and yard with amenities. Also allowed pets but didn’t show the wear from pets that can be more obvious which is great. Can’t stress enough what a great summer compound and backyard this can be. Back gameroom/playroom great as well. Main house bedrooms and guest cottages comfortable as well. However, this is billed as a high end rental and needs work to meet expectations for the price. Could be recent challenges given so many prior 5-star reviews which we relied upon in our decision. The most recent review for the stay just prior to ours was not available unfortunately. Agree with prior review that cleanliness in the house upon arrival was not acceptable. There was dirt and debris in drawers, some broken, dishwasher did a poor job and sink is mishapen so food collects and water pools around the edges and doesn’t drain well, chronic lack of water pressure in the home made cleaning and showering more challenging than it should be. The outer French doors that wouldn’t consistently shut, and small propane tanks not filled for outdoor fire pit / lamps. WiFi was a major distraction given break in service on multiple occasions, even with the help from property management to reset there are clearly issues with consistent coverage that makes work from this home in pandemic not recommended here. Compounded with kids on zoom or online devices, prepare for unplugged experience. In all fairness, property management was responsive and did what they could to be helpful, but they weren’t set up for success and weren’t local to assist. They also worked hard with repairman to get the pool and spa working after we noted the spa heating and lighting systems didn’t work upon arrival. They did preheat the pool for an additional fee (which was fantastic) and prorated some to the pool heating cost for the first day challenges. All in all, we made do given the fabulous views and yard and didn’t make a fuss beyond getting help with WiFi and spa controls, but this needs a real effort to get this property in shape with the necessary regular cleaning, servicing and handyman to charge the premium that it does.

A second visit, a very different experience
This is the second time we stayed at this property. During our summer visit, we had a wonderful time and decided to come back (February stay). Unfortunately, the property felt in need of better maintance. Upon arrival, the heat was not working. The manager was very attentive and helped fix it right away. Nonetheless, it was an inconvenience to have to troubleshoot the system and exchange so many text messages while trying to unpack and relax. Additional issues with the property: fire pits were not working, lights by the fire pits not working, shower pressure extremely low in all showers, spa cover very dirty (we washed it ourselves as we had to use it for toddler safety) leak in the celicing by the stove and water heater by coffee maker very dirty. These comments may seem pickup but when you're paying a premium, you expect your stay to be mostly stress and maintance free. With that said, the property is beautiful and well furnished. However, a summer visit is definitely a better choice as the backyard is the highlight of the property. The managers were very kind and responsive, but overall, the weekend felt a lot less relaxing than we had intended.

Excellent vacation home
This house was fantastic. We stayed as a family of four during pandemic shelter in place and it was an amazing getaway. The house has great open rooms with lots of windows and light. Fantastic property with pool, hot tub, bocce, ping pong, and closet of lawn games. There are many nice areas to sit outside overlooking vineyards. The barn with pool table was fun and hip. Property manager very responsive and helpful. I give it my highest recommendation.
