About this campground/ rv resort rental
We have given the camp a new lease on life with a rustic modern charm. It was completely renovated in 2016. It is the perfect place for a romantic getaway or a family vacation. This house has plenty of lake frontage, a dock and a hoist. There is a patio for dining and a campfire pit. There is a bunkhouse that has 2 twin cots. This home provides kitchen, dining and living room, bathroom, one queen bed, one full bed, 2 twin cots (bunk quarters), covered porch picnic area, washer and dryer. There is a yard for tents (you must bring). The camp is located 3.5 miles down a 12-foot wide private road with little traffic. The camp is near the end of a dead end lake road. The road is very family friendly and is a great place to walk, jog, or ride bicycles. There is plenty of parking! Enjoy the sunsets and evenings around a campfire. At the camp there is a row boat and a paddle boat for use! A pet friendly camp.
Long Point State Park is 5 miles north of the property. Bright-Leaf winery is 1.5 mile walk or 6.5 mile drive. The town of Aurora is a quaint place a mile beyond Long Point. The town features Mackenzie Childs, the Fargo Bar and Grill, Well's College, and the Aurora Inn. The closest cities are Ithaca and Auburn, NY (approximately 45 minutes away). The Finger Lakes area is known for their winery and cheese trails, plan a day trip to stop at a few! The DeLago Casino is 40 minutes away.
Boat hoist available from memorial to Labor Day. Check with owners about size of boat restrictions. No pontoons. If you bring your boat Owner has off site parking if you need it. We do not recommend driving your boat and trailer down the road (12-foot right-of-way).

My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend and had a great visit. The owner was very responsive

I have absolutely no complaints about the property. It was immaculately clean, warm and very welcoming. You cannot beat the location right on the lake. The added features of the Paddle Boat and Kayaks is enticing.
I only have 1 negative thing to say. The property is down on a private road, which it seems like this is the only property on the private road. NO, there are hundreds of other houses on this dirt road and you pass before you get to it. I wish I had known about this before I signed up for staying.
Christina is a GREAT host none the less!!!

Guys fishing trip
The house was clean ,but maybe they could clean the porch off because that's where the guys spent most of their time when they weren't fishing, carpet bad on porch. Overall they had a great stay caught lots of fish and booked it for next year.

Beautiful relaxing vacation
Everything about this trip was seamless, easy & relaxing. The camp was perfect fit for my husband and I. The lakeview is breathtaking, easy to lose time sitting outside drinking coffee and reading a book.
The property owner is quick with communication, and friendly to work with.
We brought all our groceries and made use of the grill and kitchen, which has everything you can need to make a meal. I recommend doing the same if you plan to just relax.
We would definitely stay again. Thank you for everything!

September visit
Nice getaway. Disappointed we didn’t know it wasn’t recommended to leave in the water after Labor Day and we went end of September. Whole purpose of trip was to go out on boat. 25 minute drive out the road was inconvenient to put boat in and out even though hostess had a place to keep boat. But we had a great time and enjoyed the beautiful view and covered patio and fire pit.

Lakeside Retreat
It was a wonderful retreat with beautiful views all day (sunsets were amazing!). We stayed at the property for the entire weekend due to the 3.5 miles of 10 mph dirt road and really enjoyed the water and views from the patio. It is a nice walking area as well - a good distance and some great fossils at the bottom of the cliffs.

Lake house
We had a great time during our stay. The owners were amazingly helpful and informative. Hard to get any closer to the lake, great waterfront property.

Location, location, location
We had a wonderful time on the lake. You couldn’t get closer without being in it! Views were wonderful. Evenings sitting outside enjoying the sunsets we’re so relaxing. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. We certainly had everything we needed to make our stay very relaxing. Wifi worked well when needed and tv reception was great except for the last night when a major storm took out the internet. We went to sleep listening to the rain - hard to beat!

Truly lovely!
Really gorgeous little home that is well furnished, comfortable, and the waterfront location can’t be beat! It was the perfect spot for a quarantine getaway. That 10mph is no joke though, so we didn’t do a lot of driving in the area, but we had everything we needed at home. Really kind and thoughtful host too! Would stay again!

We enjoy the lake to the max. Christina went out of her way to help us with a flat tire and the wine was an appreciated touch from her. THANKS

The Sunset Says it All...
My family and I had the most amazing experience spending our summer vacation at Christina and Steve's camp! I wouldn't even call it a camp, I would call it a home. All of the rooms have been renovated and the floors are beautiful. Communication with Christina and Steve was easy and I believe we actually made some life long friends. They treated us like family and we are beyond thankful for their hospitality. When you arrive you have to drive down a long stretch of road, almost as if you are detaching from the hustle and bustle of the real world. The speed limit is 10 miles per hour, but that's the point, at the lake life slows down. There was a lovely TV with internet so you could stream movies, I do admit I did have to do some work, but the internet was great! Not that you need a TV because the property and dock/beach is all you need, but the TV is good if it rains (you can snuggle up and watch a good movie). This is a place where you can truly be with your family and just enjoy everyone's conversations. Our two year old spent most of his time swimming and playing with his beach toys on the property. My parents came to visit and raved about the place, "it has everything you need," my mom said. The house actually does have everything, all your dishware, pots and pans to cooks, wine glasses and a big freezer for all your meat! There are big beds and cute pocket doors for some privacy. There is a row boat and paddle boat for your boating pleasure and the water is just beautiful. Life jackets are provided and there is enough outside seating for the entire family. The campfire area is big and you can literally sit by the fire all night. My husband's father and brother came to visit and I almost thought that they would never leave... they loved it as mush as we did. Just a short drive from the village of Aurora and Long Point State Park. We jogged everyday all over the area and after a long hard run, nothing is more refreshing then a glass of wine form Long Point Winery just up the road from the house. All I can say is that the camp fires, family time, beach, parking, the property and the owners were more than what we thought they would be... in the end the sunset says it all. Breathtaking!!! We are blessed and thankful.

Great cottage
We had a wonderful, relaxing 4th of July weekend. The cottage had everything we needed. Comfortable bed and good shower which are both important to us. We enjoyed taking out the rowboat and watching the awesome sunsets. Although there weren’t any town sponsored fireworks, many people around the lake had their own, which made for a fun 4th. Christina was great to work with and we would love to rent the cottage again. The town of Aurora is quaint. It reminds me a little of Skaneatlas.

Picture Perfect Stay
Sunrise, sunset views to die for, just look at the photos, picture perfect. From door to the lake water, 21 steps, I counted them. If you have a boat you can dock it within a chip shot from the front door. All the other comments about the road are true, it's long, maybe 4 miles with a strict 10MPH speed limit...10mph not 13mph...just saying. Everyone on the road is friendly 'cept this one cat halfway down the road who likes to sit in the middle of the road, in time it will move. Fishing is great, the Bassmaster Elites have held 2 tournaments here, dude who won it caught over 80lbs of Bass in 4 days (fish the weeds down at the south end of the lake). Best VRBO owners we've ever had, very friendly, very knowledgable about the lake, the area, and other stuff. Just an all around picture perfect stay.

Beautiful Lakefront on a Quaint Property
We met Christina and she's awesome! She's very accommodating and understanding about our possibility of having older family members stay overnight in the bunkhouse if necessary, which they ended up not staying anyways. The property had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The kids were outside swimming in the water everyday and we loved being located by the lake. It's nice to wake up to the beautiful scenery and the water! Everything was comfy and cozy, just be wary that being on the lake has its' challenges. The drive there was narrow, time-consuming and lengthy so give yourself plenty of time to slowly drive from the road's main entrance to the cottage (we timed ourselves at 23 minutes). When you're staying on the lakefront, expect to deal with everything that mother nature has to offer.

The perfect place to get away!
I rented this spot as a short getaway for me and my boys and it couldn’t have been better! Not once did any of my 3 guys (ages 11 12and 14) say they were bored. We swam and fished right off the dock. Grilled each night for dinner and went up the road to Lake House Creamery for ice cream. I stopped at Walmart and did all our food shopping for the week, so the fact that there are 2 refrigerators and a washer/dryer meant that we really didn’t have to leave the camp at all. Christina and Steve could not have been better hosts. It was easy to reach them with questions or something we needed. The neighbors were lovely and even helped my guys with their fishing.

A long road to paradise!
This is a place you want to pack up for and never leave. The check in process was easy and Christina and her husband were very accommodating. The best views of the lake and sunset take place at this rental, making it very difficult to leave. I highly recommend Christina and her property and look forward to coming back.

Would recommend to friends
Owner did a great job preparing the place. She even brought us propane for the grill when we ran out. The boat lift is super easy to manage and very well made. BUT do NOT bring your boat directly to the property. Launch at Long Point State Park. Honoco Road is long, narrow, and has no good place to turn a trailer around. Plus, it’s a dead end. Also, there’s a Bass Pro Shop nearby.

Relaxing
Nice quiet place on the lake. The road definetly needs some pothole patching.

Quiet, Clean Retreat (Couple with 2 dogs)
We stayed at this camp with our two dogs to have a relaxing long weekend before school started. August 24th - August 28th 2018. The camp was clean, had all the amenities you need to enjoy. It has a long dock and you are able to grill and enjoy the sunsets. We were lucky to have no one next to us for two days and a wonderful family next to us over the weekend, where you heard kids being excited about fishing and just having fun. Our two dogs loved the freedom and there were plenty of places to walk them. We did not partake in the rowboat or the paddleboat but both options were there. We did rent a pontoon boat with the marina being very close. One thing to really considered is your activities for the day - Honoco Rd is very long tight road, and this campsite is located almost at the end, so it does take about a 1/2 hr driving 10 mph so if you forgot something it is not an easy 15 mins to get to the store. You really have to plan your day well, One time out, one time back. Come with all food supplies for the night or weekend so you don't have to hunt for anything. Long Point Winery is up the street so if you forgot wine make a stop there before heading to the camp. The area has very friendly people each giving you a neighborly wave. The owner even let us borrow a crate for one of our dogs. It was a nice visit, we love the finger lakes.

Great place to fish, swim and enjoy the sights and sounds of Cayuga Lake.
We spent the 4th of July weekend at the camp and had a great time at the lake! The camp is well maintained, beds are comfortable, kitchen is clean and well stocked with everything needed to make a great meal. The gas grill was clean and in very good working condition. There is an AC unit that keeps the mobile home cool, as we were there when it was in the 90's. The bathroom is very clean and the shower had good water pressure.
The views are amazing and sunsets are fabulous! The patio area is a great place to sit and relax and watch the water. There is a nice picnic table and seating for at least 15 people.
We brought our 20' fishing boat and Christina was fantastic at showing us how to use the electric hoist. The water is easily accessible for swimming by using the stairs and the stairs are well maintained with no algae or weeds on them. The dock to the boat house is in excellent condition and is stationary (good for those of us who get motion sick on the dock!!).
There is a fire pit and plenty of chipmunks that keep our dog entertained! The camp is quite and the neighbors were welcoming.
The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because it would have been helpful to know before arriving that Honoco Rd is a narrow, paved in short areas and gravel in other areas, one lane road. There are ample places for one vehicle to pull over to allow the opposing vehicle to pass. However, we were towing a boat and the trailer is wider than the truck. Turning the truck and trailer around was a bit stressful, as we had to jackknife the trailer in order to turn around. Our recommendations for anyone planning a trip and towing a boat; launch your boat at the state park (down the road from the camp about 4 miles), disconnect the trailer and pay the $7/night fee to leave the truck/trailer. The park has security around the clock and vehicles are monitored throughout the day and night. I drove the boat to the camp and my husband drove the truck to camp. If your driving to the camp, it's about a 3-3.5 mile drive once you turn on to Honoco Rd or 4 miles from the State Park.
We had an absolutely wonderful time and we look forward to returning next year! I would recommend this camp to anyone looking for a place to relax, enjoy the sights and sounds of the lake, swim, boat and fish!

Great place to fish, pitch camp, make s'mores, and connect with nature! Awesome Host and Hostess
This fun camp on Honoco Road is just the place, if you like to get some fishing in before breakfast, walk your dog on the private road, and enjoy a peaceful cup of coffee while looking at beautiful views of Cayuga Lake. Christina and Steve are very attentive while never being too close for comfort. There is weekly trash and recycle pick-up, which is nice in hot weather. It is important to enjoy and respect this camp for what it is, a little trip back in time when people didn't need all the bells and whistles they seem to today. Cozy quarters, with space to spread out, and of course the vintage bunkhouse! Very quiet during the weekdays. Very much enjoyed our stay and hope to be back next year!
