About this apartment rental
The apartment is located in the historic center, under the arcades of the ancient village in a period house. The house, very cool in summer, is on the first floor and is accessed by a staircase (15 steps); the owners live on the second floor. Free Wifi The house is about 60 meters; has a large living area with a fully equipped kitchen (microwave oven, electric kettle, electric hotplates, fridge with integrated freezer); in the same living area, there is a double sofa bed. The bedroom, separated from the living area, has 4 beds, one of which is a pull out. The house overlooks with two windows on the carruggio. It is very cool in the summer and it does not have air conditioning due to the environment; in winter it has air heating managed independently by the guests. The bathroom has a shower. The wifi network is present. In the house there is TV. The house can accommodate up to 6 people (it has a sofa bed in the living area), but it is advisable for 6 guests for short periods. On request, at the time of booking, it is possible to have a cot for a baby. Pets are welcome. When necessary, you can leave your luggage waiting for check-in and check-out. The house is located near the small and typical piazza Matteotti, where there is a supermarket, a butcher, a restaurant and a nightclub. The sea is a 5-minute walk away; the station 10 minutes on foot. There is no private parking because traffic is forbidden in the historical center; there is a paid parking at the beginning of the country that can be used (when free) for the arrival of the monastic; after which the car can be left on the state road paying attention to the signage. The train, however, remains the most convenient way to get to the Cinque Terre, which are connected almost exclusively by rail and by land. There are five ancient villages on the mainland but must be lived as real islands in the middle of the sea. it's their beauty but with some reasonable discomfort. STAY TAX (Article 4 D. Lgs. 23/2011) The Municipality of Monterosso al Mare has established the tourist tax. The tax is applied to overnight stays of non-residents in the Municipality of Monterosso al Mare. The apartment is in a perfect location- directly in the center in town on a quiet street & only a few minutes walk to the beach! Marianna was extremely helpful and made the stay very relaxing. Highly recommend staying here again.

The location was perfect. Quiet and cozy, yet just steps from all of the activity in Monterosso, and no big hill climb to get there. Our kids took the three single beds and we took the futon - it was a bit firm, but we slept great. Must have been all the Cinque Terre hiking!

Great location, in the heart of the old town, 3 minutes to the beach and ferry but the flip side of it being quite noisy (we had open windows and 2 ventilators on because it was very hot in August). The apartment is quite old but have everything you need. Be aware of mosquitos!
The host is very helpful and great communication.

Excellent location
Location is excellent, and the owners are super nice and were available if we needed anything. We stayed in June and the apartment definitely got hot, but the owners provided the fans which helped a lot. Unfortunately, the electric wiring is old which meant if we had a fan on, we could not use the tea kettle or a hair dryer, as it would blow the fuse. The place could also use better pillows and towels. But otherwise, we enjoyed our stay and are grateful for the owners' hospitality.

Great location helpful host
We loved the location of this apartment. It’s in the older part of town so not as much tourist traffic. It’s spacious, quiet and clean. The only thing that would improve the appearance would be some new bedspreads, they are very dated. It’s location makes up for the bedspreads and I would stay here again. Marianna father was very helpful and was there to lug or.luggage up the stairs. He is very strong!

Cinque Terre Heaven
The apartment was clean with plenty of space and decorated with warm homey touches which provided an authentic Italian experience. Any item we needed for the kitchen or bath was provided. The location was in the center of Oldtown Monterosso, just a few steps away from the hiking trail. The owner, Marianna, was helpful when we were planning the trip and provided excellent recommendations on restaurants and wine. Marianna was out of town during our stay however her parents and the family cat were on site, available when needed and always responded to questions with a friendly smile.

Beautiful Monterosso
We had such a lovely time in Monterosso! The apartment was bigger than we expected. Our host made everything very easy for us - when we had questions or needed recommendations for restaurants, she made sure we had the correct information. The location was perfecto! So close to restaurants, the beach, stores, and it was fun leaning out the window watching and listening to passersby. Night time was a bit noisy, but nothing obnoxious. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well-equipped and the bathroom was nice. All in all, we loved our stay and would be happy to return someday!

Cinque Terre
The location in old Montorosso was great for exploring and enjoying the local food and culture. The listing did not accurately represent the apartment. There were not 2 bedrooms. The 2nd
bedroom was a fouton in the living area. The pillows were old, flat and hard. The bedding was old and faded. The towels were also old thin and very rough. We expected that apartments in old cities would be funky and show their age but, we also expected decent bedding and towels.

Perfect location.
We loved our 3 night stay at this quaint apartment in the heart of Oldtown Monterosso. A perfect place to begin and end each day while visiting the Cinque Terre. Wonderful host who was very helpful with recommendations for activities and restaurants. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for typical authentic experience in the best location..

Wonderful
We loved it here. The host was not there for our stay but her mother and father were kind, fun, and completely available if we needed them. Monterosso is a special place and staying in this apartment puts you in the thick of old town, next to one of the best restaurants there, imho, Da Edalgo. The apartment was thoughtfully appointed with all the necessaries, such as fans, and even some treats, like ice, and chocolates. Highly recommend. We were 4 people, 3 adults and 1 child. Thanks so much for the very nice stay!

Great position
Property does need an update. Position is fantastic, but linen and towels need to be updated desperately.

Three days in paradise
It had been my dream to travel to the Cinque Terre and Monterosso al Mare and this apartment did not disappoint. While much of the Cinque Terre has been overrun by cruise ship visitors (Vernazza!!) Old Town Monterosso is a gem. This lovely apartment is located an easy 10-15 minute walk from the beach and train station, just steps away from the shops and restaurants of Monterosso, but in an area home to many locals. I loved the afternoon sounds of the Italian neighbors chatting below in the streets!
Marianna was easy to correspond with and answered all of our questions. We were met by her parents who checked us in and supplied us with a bottle of vine from their vineyard. Don’t be shocked when they request cash payment, as this is common place throughout Italy.
The apartment was well equipped and comfortable, with three twin beds, a trundle bed and a fouton. Plenty of room for our family of four (though might be crowded for a group of 6!). Although not air conditioned, it was quite comfortable day and night. We also appreciated that we could store our luggage on the last day to enjoy more sightseeing before catching our afternoon train. We would definitely recommend this property to our friends traveling to the area.

Awesome stay In Monterosso!
My wife and seven year old son had an awesome stay in Marianna’s apartment. Her mom checked us in. Her dad welcomed us with a delightful wine that he makes himself. The apartment is clean, well decorated and very comfy. They let us store our bags in the basement room. Super convenient. Thank you so much for being such delightful hosts! We’d love to come back and visit.

Lovely Italian Stay
Love the property. It felt like a real Italian experience. Right in the midst of old town near restaurants and shops. Monterosso feels like old Italy. A short walk to ocean. Hostess was very helpful.

Great location for local charm
The property has a great location for soaking up local charm. The bathroom is quite small, especially for six people. The owner’s mama is precious, but there is definitely a language barrier.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The apartment was exactly as expected. Marianna responded to every question. Her father assisted us on check in and he is the most wonderful man.
Thank you!!!

A perfect base for visiting Cinque Terre
Our stay with Marianna was perfect! She is a marvellous hostess. Everything was as expected, and she went to extraordinary lengths to stay in touch. As it was slow season, Marianna provided restaurant recommendations and practical advice. During our stay there was unfortunately a major storm that resulted in closure of all shops and restaurants one day. But both she and her parents reached out to ensure that we were fine and kindly offered food. Above and beyond the call of duty!
The apartment is perfectly located in lower portion of old Monterosso, perhaps a 10 minute level walk to the train. Kitchen well-equipped, comfortable beds and good WiFi.
All in all, a great base for visiting Cinque Terre.

Great location!
Set back in old town Monterosso, this little place is conveniently located in the center of town. It's very close to a number of restaurants and shops with the beach only a few hundred yards away. It's also close to the ferry boat that travels from town to town. Marianna wasn't there, but her parents live right next door and they couldn't of been any nicer and helpful. I enjoyed my stay!

A comfortable apartment in the perfect location for Monterosso Al Mare
We had a great experience From the very start when selecting and asking questions about this apartment via emails to the arrival and welcoming by the owners. They were very nice and checked to be certain we were comfortable. The apartment is right in the middle of all the shops and restaurants in Monterosso and it is a relatively short walk from the train station. 15 minutes maximum time to walk. Next time we go to Monterosso we will select this apartment. Marianna (the owner) was a pleasure to work with.

Great location!
Snuggled in old town Monterosso al Mare, this is a good base for exploring Cinque Terre. The apartment is on the 1st floor (2nd floor for Americans) and the steps are steep and narrow so be careful with large luggage. This is a one bedroom apt. that has three single beds and one trundle in the bedroom which faces the street. The sofa folds down to a bed but it is easy to tip over with two adults (as we did at 3am!). The street is quiet and the house stays fairly cool during the day (we were there in July) and two large fans were present to help us. The bathroom is small but adequate but could use new towels. The kitchen has the necessities but plan to eat out.
Walk to the beach is a few minutes but a walk to the new town is half a mile (mostly flat).
The train station is in the new town so, if arriving by train, you'll have a hike with luggage. There is a local taxi that could ferry you though. There is a tiny Conad's grocery store a few doors down and lots of stores and restaurants nearby.
Host provides lots and lots of tips for things to do, places to eat, and ideas about itineraries. She was very responsive to any questions. Her parents have the apt. next door and will also help but speak no English.
If driving to old town, you'll have to park in one of the three tiny cramped parking lots at 25 Euro a day. Or move your car after unloading and try to find a spot along the road to old town (up the hill). It could be far to park but you can call a taxi to bring you back. A better idea is to take the train to Monterosso from Levanto or La Spezia. Driving to Monterosso is a long and winding one around and over two hills via lots and lots of switchbacks on narrow roads. A ferry also runs between towns that might be an option if you have little luggage. This is also a scenic way to see all five towns!

We are a young couple with 2 little girls and we stayed at Marianna's apartment last week-end. It was an excellent choice! The apartment is close to everything... And it has everything you might need. Not to mention that the owners are very friendly! It felt like we were staying at friends... If we will ever go back to Monterosso, I know where we will stay :)
