Our family gathered at Casa Moskito for a perfect getaway. Location was perfect, views were spectacular and service outstanding. Perfect location with lots of privacy but still close to Playa where we were able to go out and walk to local restaurants with out a crowded hotel. Property manager Jorge helped us get set up with all we needed. His communication and love for a Mexico was a gift. The house needs just a little TLC but the views and amenities were perfect. If you want a luxury like a Ritz this is not for you. If you want paradise and perfect spot with everything you need this is perfect.

This property is amazing and better than imagined. It’s just steps away from the beach and the property manager Jorge is very hands on in the right way. Gave me a tour of bedrooms and showed how to work/access the property necessities.
If you need anything, just ask Jorge arranged i’m masseuse and introduced us to 2 chef’s that prepared a birthday dinner.
Property is in a gated community and a short walk to the Ferry and Calle Cinco. Need a good restaurant to eat at? Well, he nailed that too.

Our stay at Casa Moskito was amazing. Waking up every morning to the beautiful views of the ocean. The house was spacious and Jorge was very helpful with making our stay very comfortable. We will definitely be back!

Apartment was the perfect size for 5 adults and could have held 6 no problem. Everyone has their own space, and never felt like we were on top of each other. Everything was very clean and AC worked like a champ!
Jorge was a fantastic host and was super accommodating. The neighborhood is very safe - guards everywhere and the location is close enough for shopping and wandering but far enough from the constant “marcha”.
Definitely recommend and will keep Casa Moskito on my list for the next trip.

Great place for two parents and four teens. Easy walk to PDC. Excellent support from concierge (Jorge).
As noted in other reviews, the beach has eroded in front of the house. Bad for access, but good for privacy.

5 Stars! Great location and property! Exactly as advertised. Very clean and not too much wear and tear. View was spectacular. Swimming was fantastic. Easy walk to 5th Ave. shops and dining. Jorge was a great host. Highly recommend Chef Edgar Ramirez (IG:@cheframirezedgar) who cooked 2 amazing meals for our group. Would book again.

Perfection! Fabiola and Adrian were such a bonus and we loved everything they made. Teresa was very thorough and nice. The kids loved the pool. Comfy beds and pillows and I’m picky about pillows so that was great. We really would love to come back…..it was hard to leave.

I think this was our 3rd or 4th stay. Super location, easy walk to shops and restaurants. Jorge makes a great host.
Only issue was the sargassum on the beach but certainly not anything our hosts could have done.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week with our two teenagers at Casa Moskito. Prior to our arrival, the house manager Jorge was incredibly helpful with referrals for everything from excursions to dining reservations to airport transportation to private chefs. He speaks excellent English and Spanish and was happy to communicate with us in either language.
Once we arrived at Casa Moskito, everything was exactly as we had expected based on the listing. The space was impeccably clean and perfect for our needs. The home is RIGHT on the beach in a safe and quiet neighborhood and an easy 10 minute walk from all of the shops, restaurants and nightlife on Quinta Avenida. The lap pool is lovely for a cooling dip as well.

Adding something new to all of the rave reviews that Casa Moskito gets is very challenging. The property worked perfectly for us as a family. Jorge is sensational as a host and we followed his recommendations which proved to be spot on!
Memorable vacation for lots of reasons but the most is that the 7-year-old learned to snorkel in the pool. It is large enough that she "had to" swim at one end yet she felt safe in having steps and places to grab along the short lane. She wrote "Gracias, Casa Moskito" in the house diary. She also wrote in her personal journal every day about something special at the house.
Can't say enough good things about this vacation rental. Very grateful for a peaceful, restful week!

Amazing stay at Casa Moskito
Loved this house and location! The back patio was so relaxing with the ocean waves. Lots for our kids to explore. Walked through the neighborhood to lots of shopping and restaurants. Jorge was amazing and accommodated our every need. Housekeeping service is a nice perk! Can’t wait for our next visit.

We booked Casa Moskito for a girlfriend's getaway and we were not disappointed! Jorge was beyond helpful and everything he suggested for our trip was so enjoyable.
The property was in the perfect location for indulging in shopping, eating and entertainment. (The private chef is worth the money!!)

Wow! Five Stars... dream vacation right on beach!
This was an AMAZING vacation- we are beach snobs and everyone loved the house and location! White, powdery sand just 20 steps (I counted) from the terrace. It doesn’t get better than this, it was great for kids as we could watch them easily from terrace while they played in sand. It was also good for my elderly Aunt ans Uncle as they didn’t have to walk far to enjoy the beach and all bedrooms are on main floor so no stairs. House was very comfortable and well equipped- everything that you need is there. Infinity pool is insanely beautiful and my kids took a million Instagram pics... ultimate luxury! We ate brunch and dinner on terrace poolside every evening. I encourage you to ask for chef service- Anuar was an absolute rockstar in the kitchen and made our stay effortless- fridge was stocked with favorite drinks and food- he made brunch and dinner each day- so worth it! The property manager Jorge was so professional, was there when we arrived and when we departed... so helpful with rental car, airport transfer and recommendations... like a personal concierge and quick response time. Location is very safe and secure as it’s located inside a gated community and you check in with guardhouse when you enter community. It’s an upscale neighborhood so you feel very safe and secure. During the day there is plenty of activity on the beach so we never felt isolated and you are just 10 mins walk from shopping, nightlife, restaurants and more! Harry’s Steakhouse was great for a birthday celebration we had- super classy and fun. My family had such a great time at Casa Moskito that we are already coordinating dates for our next trip! If you are hesitating- DONT HESITATE IT IS WORTH EVERY PENNY YOU WILL LOVE YOUR TIME AT CASA MOSKITO! 100% recommended- five stars!

Amazing Place
The property was exactly as depicted. We truly did not want to leave. Property was not only located in an amazing spot in front of the ocean, but was extremely convenient to downtown Playa del Carmen. Was just a short walk to 5th Avenue. We also had a minor emergency where one of the kids forgot to pack his unique prescription contact lenses and was truly blind without them. We called Jorge and very shortly after he had a Vision Center texted to me, waiting for us with the contact lenses we needed! He truly saved us there. Jorge made our experience a wonderful one, and his tips on where to go for great food was spot on.

Always a perfect stay
Returned to playa and had to stay at our favorite house… location is a short beach walk into town, views are like a movie. Can’t find a better house for a small group anywhere in the riviera maya.. house manager was in constant communication via text for anything we needed. Even calling for a taxis at night.. will be back again!!

Not as good as we had hoped.
Jorge, the property manager, was terrific. The property wasn’t as depicted as the beach was eroded all the way up to the property. There were ants throughout the property and they gave us bug spray to address them. The dishwasher was falling out of the cabinet and we had to request dishwasher cleaner.

Beautiful property, disappointing management
The property was a beautiful property and fairly well represented in the photos. There is little beach to the property as the water is right up to the foundation of the deck/pool now. There a variable amounts of seaweed that is present on the shoreline. But we enjoyed the property and pool.
That being said, it is a pricey place to stay. Our check in was supposed to be at 3 pm and it was at 5:10 pm that evening when she finally finished. Additionally, we were set to check out at 11 am and the pool cleaner/house cleaner were there by 10:30 am. We found this rude.
There was lots of rain during our stay and the house had 2 major roof leaks in the second bedroom. We promptly reported it to Jorge, who said he’d take care of it. But it was us who ended up putting buckets under the leaks and mopping up the ever increasing seepage of water into the main living area.
We had difficulty w using the television and felt belittled when asking for help from Jorge who told us “it’s a smart TV, use the keypad to navigate”. It took some doing to figure it out and we are well aware of smart TV use.
There are biting ants that come out every night in the house. We know that this is the tropics and understand that this can happen so made the best of it.
We did not enjoy dealing w Jorge, though to his credit he was “available” through email but not very helpful or warm w the few questions we had while staying there.
Again, though, if you are looking for a beautiful property on the ocean this place is for you. Just beware of some of the property changes/seaweed that most everyone knows can be a problem on the shorelines of Mexico.

Great location and nice home.
The location is awesome if you like being in a safe and secure area and being right on the beach! We had problems with ants in the house, but probably an anomaly. Also, the TV did not work well due to weather issues. Otherwise the house, location and service were awesome.

Pretty house, disappointing beach.
Beautiful house, well maintained. Jorge, the property manager is attentive and responsive and made sure we were well taken care of. However, due to a seasonal change in ocean currents in the region, a high tide encroaches and erodes the beach, rendering it mostly nonexistent in front of the property and making it quite difficult to step down and up from the beach. It also brings with it a steady amount of Sargasso (Algae) that makes it difficult to enjoy the ocean. If you can overlook these two issues, you will have an enjoyable stay. Otherwise, you might want to check out Cozumel or Isla Mujeres.

BEST spot in Playa Del Carmen
We rented this house to share our vacation with family and friends. What an amazing home. I’m a condo owner in playa Del Carmen that is 2 block walk to beach. My place has nothing on this lovely situation home. Waking up and seating beach side with coffee and conversation never got old. We will definitely be returning. Great House & Host, But Inaccurately Listed
We absolutely loved the house, and the house manager, cleaner, and pool attendant took very good care of us. And its location in the secure neighborhood of Playacar is excellent.
However... the photos of the property are not accurate. There is no longer a beach in front of the house. What this means is:
1) you have to climb down over the water barrier to reach the water (not ideal if you have mobility issues), and
2) you have folks walking by right next to the pool all day, curtailing your privacy.
While we loved staying at the house, but we were very disappointed that there was no beach, especially given that we paid sustainably more to stay on the beach. Again, the house was great. But it is not accurately represented on Vrbo.

Amazing view!
It would be hard to beat this location. It’s on the beach with its own pool. The sound of the waves was spectacular. Close walking to almost anything you need and taxis were always waiting at the security gate.

Little piece of paradise for 4 girlfriends!
The overall feel is a little of paradise with the views and patio/pool area. We woke every morning to the beautiful sunrise over the water and the amazing colorful views! There has been some erosion since the photos online were taken and the ocean water comes up much closer to the property, however there is plenty of beach space at the side of the property. The pool is a perfect size to cool off. The property generally met our needs once we requested and obtained a few toiletry items upon check in. There is a house cleaner daily except Sundays. Even though the house can sleep 8 people, there were only 2 working beach chairs, and there were just 4 lounge chairs at the pool so this might be a problem for parties larger than 4 if not addressed. Also, the pool lights weren't working so that made us sad. The dinner table also has chairs for just 6. The house manager was attentive to our needs and even brought us candles to use while having dinner after we asked him for some. We hired the local chef, Pavel, to make us dinner several nights and had amazing culinary delights for a price less than we'd spend at a nice restaurant - highly recommended. We also ordered groceries and had them delivered and the house manager put them away for us prior to arrival. The walk to 5th avenue and shopping areas is very quick - under 10 minutes - and we walked it on the beach. We also were able to easily take a cab to Walmart for some items we'd forgotten. Overall a perfect spot for our needs at a very reasonable price. We'd like to give it a 4.5 due to the few items that are mentioned but since that's not possible gave a 5 rather than 4 :-)
