The best place to stay in Chachapoyas

The owner is really nice and can give advice on how to reach the local sights. We arrived early on an overnight bus and were given a room right away. There is good kitchen facilities. The rooms are comfortable and clean. There is hot water, just make sure the heater above the shower head is turned on. Great location.

the discrepancy between the pictures and the real rooms is a bad joke. at least, we were given a discount.

Merely the low price and the relatively calm street

one day in advance, we had booked three nights in a 25 square meters room which looked great on the pictures. when we arrived at noon the next day the young girl in charge was not aware of our booking and after a phone call she led us to a tiny room without warm water. some minutes later we asked for an alternative and left the place for three hours to give them the necessary time. upon our return we were given a 12 square meters room that had barely been cleaned. after the first night there was no warm water anymore.

Most friendly and helpful receptionist of Peru

We arrived early in the morning with the night bus and could already enter our room. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful during our stay and gave us detailed descriptions about what we could do in the area and how we could reach those places (which minibuses/from where and how long it will take). After we came back to grab our stored backpacks, we made a mess with our dirty shoes and we were greeted with even more friendliness!

Keeping in mind that Chachapoyas is a small town in the middle of nowhere in South America, you won't find anything not to like.

Clean no frills uncared for hotel perfectly okay if at a good price

The place was clean and though not the best location in chachapoyas (plaza de armas or peatonal) it certainly is close.

It is the typical Latin American hotel where no thought is put into decorating. Three beds with mismatched sheets and comforters. Sterile bland walls and hallways. Our room was set on the roof behind the clothes lines with sheets hanging to dry and construction debris that has been there for years. Still if you get a good price and are going by that, You will be provided with a very clean, safe hotel in a good location. Though it sounds like a negative review, it isn’t. We would recommend it as a value choice, but I can guarantee that no ones first impression would be. “Wow what a hidden gem!”

It was very comfortable, cosy, quiet, had amazing hot showers and the staff were lovely! So accommodating and helpful with my planning to ensure I did everything I wanted to do in Chachapoyas! I would definitely stay here again!
