About this apartment rental
Cowslip Kabyn is a beautiful purpose built semi-detached log cabin set in two acres of private garden in the St Ives Bay area. Cowslip and the adjoining Foxglove Kabyn can be booked separately or together for a larger family or group. The grounds are fully enclosed with access via an electric gate and providing plenty of room for parking. Cowslip Kabyn features one double bedroom, shower room/WC and an open plan kitchen/diner/lounge with a 4 foot sofa bed. The front of the cabin features a large sun deck with seating overlooking the gardens and adjacent fields/horse paddock.
The property features a separate laundry room solely for the use of guests including both a washing machine and tumble dryer. Washing lines are also available for each cabin along with a separate rotary washing line.

We had a wonderful time at Cowslip cabin , the property was well maintained and the photos didn’t do it justice as the property was larger than what we were expecting . The garden was perfect for little humans to run around on and release some energy . Pete the host was very responsive to our queries . Would recommend to anyone wanting a relaxing holiday

The holiday flat (Cowslip) which was our home for 2 weeks was a super little flat, very clean on our arrival with everything one needs. As described in a prior preview, we also received a nice little "goodie" basket. There is enough storage room to pack shopping away etc and plenty of fridge space. The bedroom cupboard had enough shelf and hanging space for all
our clothes. As someone else wrote that the bedroom is a little dark, but didn't bother us. The fire alarms in both holiday flats are interconnected with one another so one is safe should a fire break out in either flat. The washing room was right next to our flat which was most convenient. There is also a washing basket with pegs for each flat to use. We locked our bikes to the fence infront of our flat, probably not necessary because the place is very safe. There is a huge lawn infront of the flats, so plenty of run around space for the kids. A reminder to all visitors that it is a non smoking area on the entire premises, we didn't read the fine print, but Peter and Carolyn allowed us to smoke once we asked.
The only negative point, well 2 actually, is the distant noise from the highway situated about 500m away, it is not that loud, but is mostly there, depending on wind direction. The other is the Gas cannons that go off in the fields to scare birds, sounds like someone wacking a carpet with a broom stick. That is a little disturbing but one gets used to it, not Peter nor Carolyns fault.
We had a great time and super chats with Peter who also gave us stacks of tips on what to see, where to eat, pubs to visit etc and much more.
Thankyou both very much and we look forward to staying again.

Perfect for a week break in south west Cornwall close to some of the best beaches in the uk. Highly recommend for a family of 4 with two young kids for a great value self catering option.

Just Perfect
Kabyn was wonderful, the grounds were wonderful and so were the hosts, so friendly, good people with tips on where to eat etc, loved that we were away from the hustle and bustle and that family could visit us anytime, kabyn facilities were spot on and plenty of soft towels, can't wait to book again! Nice outside wood furniture too ;o) Thank you for a wonderful week in HAYLE

Lovely stay
Lovely place ,owner was very friendly .Ideal location if you have a car , and had most things you could need. Lovely welcome basket of biscuits crisps, and coffee pods for the coffee maker as well as a pint of milk.
Only very minor niggles , no full length mirror ( this could be rectified by attaching one to the back of the bedroom door. The bedroom is very dark, even with both bedside lamps on, and the two wall lights , really struggled to see to do hair or makeup ( I know first world problems) the natural light from the window doesn’t really help.on a dark morning really struggled to see anything .
The fire alarms are linked to both properties, and twice we had to endure the next door neighbour setting hers off, later into the evening .
The front door to the cabin has no blind or curtain on it, which I think it could benefit from especially as the laundry room is right next door, and the view is clearly visiable from here , which I felt un-nerving especially when dressed in bedroom attire and wanting to sit on the sofa( looks directly out)
That said just minor things which I think could improve the place. Would happily rent again , nicely done , close to Hayle village and a great fish and chip shop.

It was a great stay and we would like to go back. The only little problem was that the property was not completely child safe. It was necessary to look after our son, 23 months, all the time.

Excellent holiday accommodation
A lovely, clean cabin with all the facilities You could possibly need. Property manager was friendly and always available with any queries we had. Would definitely recommend staying here!

Amazing place
Reccomend it for a week stay as we only managed to stay for 3 days. The cabin is great, very clean and cosy. You have everything you need plus a nice terrace and views. The owners were also nice and friendly. We would definately come back to recharge our batteries.

Spending time with family.
We stayed here last year to be able to spend time with sons and families. Great that we can use the grassy area to play with the children. Plenty of space to picnic. Also very secure and private.

Relaxing Place To Stay
This is a very lovely 'Kabyn' set in some beautiful grounds. Everything was spotlessly clean with crisp white bed linen and soft white towels. We found everything we needed in the accommodation. A very quiet and peaceful place to stay, but also within easy reach of Hayle and St.Ives. I would definitely recommend Cowslip Kabyn.

It was really wonderful trip and staying in Karyn was superb.

Fantastic stay.
Lovely cabin very cosy & great location. Peter was a great host very welcoming & ensured we were settled etc. We was even welcomed with a basket full of tea coffee, crisps and biscuits which was lovely! Everything was perfect and considering it’s December the cabin was lovely and warm, heaters warmed the cabin up in no time! We have two toddlers and it was very child friendly! We all Had a lovely New Year’s Eve break and will definitely be returning! Thankyou for having us

Good location, ideal for exploring the very South West
Communication was very good, and on meeting the owners, all seemed to be fine. The kabyn is well furnished and equipped, with lovely grounds. However, the rooms were extremely cold on arrival, maybe it had not been occupied for a while. The electric heaters made little impact, and it was almost two days before it became comfortable. The internet connection was vey poor, as my wife and I have different devices, and had varying connection on both, lasting up to 20 mins.
On Friday, my wife took our dog out for a short walk first thing. On arrival back at the kabyn, she ascended the decking steps. The rotted wooden step gave way, as did the support post with the rope handrail. She fell sideways onto the ground, and shouted for help. I rushed outside and helped her up. She had hurt her ankle, leg and back, and was badly shaken up. The owner was informed, and said he would deal with the repair. After a while, we left to go out for the day. I did the driving, as my wife was in pain. When we returned, the step had been replaced, albeit on the same rotten frame. Some of the other treads and boards look to be in a similar condition. The most disappointing part is that the owners did not make contact after the event to enquire on my wife's welfare, even as we packed up and left the following day. There are scars and bruises on my wife's legs, and she is still in pain. She will attend our doctors surgery on Monday (26th Nov) to assess the damage. In the interest of Health and Safety, there should be a full inspection, to avoid a further occurrence of such an accident. We shall be in touch about the outcome of the doctors findings.

Hidden gem, fantastic
Beautiful cottage, well appointed, modern, up to date with everything,lots of room for couple or even three. Hosts are wonderful, friendly and most helpful. Security is great, especially if you are a single. Close to everything thats important in the area. Don’t look any farther is you want a great location, facilities and people. It’s perfect

Wonderful quiet relaxing place to stay
Just got back and I have to say what a wonderful place, very peaceful area secure and Peter was very welcoming on arrival and on our return trip

The owners were very friendly and welcoming, they flexed to suit our needs which made the whole process very easy and hassle free. The accommodation is lovely with everything to offer and little touches to make it feel a really special stay. Would definitely recommend. :)
