Fabulous, knowledgeable hosts, comfortable room with private bath and great breakfast. It’s a keeper!

This B&B is very comfortable with a large private bathroom. The bed was quite comfortable and breakfast delicious and more than ample. The hosts went out of their way for us as well .

An excellent stay in a very interesting part of France

The room was very comfortable, there was plenty of hot water and the shower and bathroom were spotless. The breakfast was excellent and our hosts were charming.

Zeer goed geweest

Vriendelijke en behulpzaam. Er stond een bericht dat ze 16.00 open zouden gaan, wij kwamen 13.30 aan en werden toch vriendelijk geholpen.

.? Het was goed ca 800 mtr van dorp maar dat wisten we.

Excellent stay

We had a fantastic stay at Gure Lana, Christian & Geneviève are the perfect hosts. So welcoming and friendly and we really enjoyed their company. Their home is beautiful. The breakfast was so lovely, 11/10!

Cristian e Genevieve são excelentes anfitriões e extremamente simpáticos. Achamos tudo ótimo apenas os quartos precisam de atualização. Café da manhã excelente servido pelo Cristian. Pousada no espírito do "camino".

Very nice, quiet location with great rooms

Genevieve & Christian are the best hosts helping out and answering all sorts of questions making your stay very enjoyable and cozy

Everything was perfect!

We liked everything about this property! A huge thank you to our wonderful hosts, Genevieve and Christian and of course their beautiful dog! We have just finished an amazing stay prior to starting the Camino and did not want to leave! Their home is superb; comfortable, exceptionally clean and in a great location. Christian is an excellent cook and our breakfast was lovely. All that aside, it was everything else that they did for us that made this an exceptional stay. We had decided to walk the Valcarlos route, rather than over the Pyrenees. Christian, upon hearing this, drove us through the Pyrenees so that we did not miss it. Also as first time pilgrims, we were a little nervous as to how our cases were going to get from one village to the next. Christian rang the luggage company and confirmed all our details and put our minds at ease. It would also be remiss of me not to forget Genevieve’s wonderful conversation and her good sense of humour! All in all, our stay at Gure Lana set us up for hopefully what is a “buen Camino”!

Feels like home

Having stayed at Gure Lana recently, we were already familiar with and happy to return to Christian and Genevieve's lovely accommodation. We were not disappointed. The location is almost rural amidst beautiful rural scenery but less than 5 mins walk from the historic centre of St Jean. It is peaceful and soothing. The accommodation is beautifully presented and a delicious and generous continental breakfast is served. As before, warmly recommended.

Loved This Quaint B & B

The host was very helpful and friendly! We had a beautiful view of the French countryside from our room. This B&B was a wonderful choice to rest after three long travel days from the USA before starting our Camino. Breakfast was good, our host even made my husband an omelet on our second morning.

It was a little bit of an uphill walk to old Town SJPdP for services BUT what the heck we were getting ready to walk 500 miles across Northern Spain.

Exceptional Stay at St. Jean Pied de Port

Nice house with beautiful bedrooms. Very welcoming family. We had two bikes and there was no problem to leave them there. They also let us wash them! The breakfast was also delicious, and we also had a great conversation with the family about our lives. We will come back for sure!!!

A Perfect place to stay while visiting St. Jean Pied de Port

This is a lovely, large home in the Basque tradition. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with the owners. We chose to eat our meals outside for our entire trip due to Covid, and the owners made sure it was an outdoor breakfast setting in their front patio which required them to bring breakfast down a flight of outdoor steps. They insisted on us not helping. The property is stunning. We especially appreciated the very large bathroom.

Gure Lana. Is a perfect spot to start the comeno. We can’t recommend it highly enough, just perfect.

Our stay was marvelous. Christian and Genevieve were so welcoming and went out of their way to help us on the first3 days of the Camino over the Pyrenees. Christian’s breakfasts were just first class and served with great humour, we can not recommend Gure Lana more. John/Linda/Gillian

A most memorable and special stay- would return again.

the hospitality and beautiful country setting . The food was exceptional with 2 hosts who are excellent trained chefs. Best Citrus Marmalade I have ever had - homemade. beautiful start to the Camino .

even though it was a little 5 min walk from town - distance - the host was ever so gracious to drive us to dinner and show us around town.
