The cottage was very quaint and extremely quiet. We didn't see anyone on the street we stayed on the whole time. Very small town with a few restaurants the Wildflower cafe was fantastic, I had the Prime Rib with blue cheese it was the best and the service was second to none. We would go back to both the cottage and Wildflower Cafe.

Ken and i and our little dog enjoyed our stay immensely at Sunshine cottage! The cottage is well kept and comfortable! The owners/caretakers take such good care to make the cottage truly a wonderful home away from home! we look forward to our next visit soon! ps please add one more blanket to closet, thank you!

Very nice and very secluded a nice place just to get away from everything

The cottage was very clean and was in a quiet neighborhood, which we loved. Easy access to restaurants and we loved shopping at Fort Payne. This was a much needed trip for my Mother and I.

We have stayed here before. Love the cozy cabin like atmosphere! The use of antiques in decorating is right up my alley. Just a genuine place to come and kick back. Loved our vacation.

Enjoyed our stay. House was clean, bedding very comfortable. Notebook about the house and area was very helpful. Would be glad to stay here again.

THE COTTAGE WAS GREAT JUST LIKE STAYING AT A FAMILYS MEMBERS PLACE. 2 BEDS AND 2 BATHS AND VERY NEAT AND CLEAN. MENTONE IS SLOW PACED AND QUIET A BEAUTIFUL BREAK FROM THE HUSTLE AND BUSTLE OF CITY LIFE. YOUNG DEER PLAYING IN THE YARD NEXT DOOR STAY WAS REAL NICE !

This cottage is absolutely amazing! Very comfortable, peaceful and quaint! The cottage provides all essentials during your stay. We only stayed for 4 nights and wish we could have stayed longer! My kids loved the area! Mentone is an adorable little town and just a short drive to Fort Payne. Desoto State Park is a must if you’re visiting…swimming, waterfalls and lots of trails! Highly recommend this cottage!! We hope to be back soon.

From the moment we entered the cabin, you knew that the owner and hosts really care about this place. Everything is immaculate - clean, well stocked, and incredibly well maintained. Great location: Down a dead end road, a block+ away from the busy street going through town, in a quiet neighborhood where you can walk your puppies safely, no traffic at all. The yard around the cabin is huge - probably 2 +/- acres. Nice areas to sit and enjoy the surrounding woods. The back deck is pleasant - very large. Half a block to a private dock over a branch of the Little River. I suspect they have a tankless water heater. It wasn’t an issue for us because my wife and our puppies came alone on this trip, but it was nice to have instant and endless hot water immediately when you turned on the tap. Great guest information book, which appeared to have been updated recently. Some good restaurants nearby (e.g., Wildflower). A great little general store close by (Mentone Market). There is a sidewalk about a block away that goes all the way into downtown Mentone if you want to stroll that far. We really enjoyed our stay - it was a great place to wind down for a few days.

This is one of the most amazing places to stay in Mentone! The property is wonderful with lots of space to get outside. The inside is clean, comfortable and updated. All amenities needed for a great getaway are provided. This was my husband’s first visit and he loved it!

I truly cannot put our experience into words at this property. Check in was a breeze but the experience of walking through the absolute cleanest vrbo we’ve ever stayed in was even better. Getting to the back patio and seeing the property and view was an absolute calming feeling to all our hearts. We were stunned. From fire flies to fires at the fire pit, comfy beds to warm showers, home cooked meals to barbecued dinners everything about this place just melted our hearts and makes us want to return. The small town has some amazing people in it, we made friends even though we were just visiting. The waterfalls surrounding and the awesome history close by made it even more worth it. WHEN we visit again, we will absolutely stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay at the Cottage. It was as pictured and described. It was spotlessly clean. We loved the solitude and the quiet location. The cottage is adorable. We loved the cabin feel and the use of natural and refurbished materials! Susan, the property manger was great! We hipe to stay again this fall.

This was the perfect location for our anniversary weekend, quite and clean.

My husband and I went to Mentone for a little wedding anniversary get away. The house was wonderful. It was very clean and in a nice quiet area. We walked our dog to the deck down the road everyday. It was nice to be able to have our dog with us. We had a great time and will definitely rent the house again.

Our stay was almost perfect. The only thing I can think of, that would have made our stay perfect, is down pillows as an alternative to fiber filled pillows. Small thing, but would have made a huge difference in our sleep.

This cabin was beautiful and well-stocked. Everything was conveniently labeled and there were clear instructions for anything we needed to use. The view was beautiful and we had a great time. We only had one small thing, there was a small bag of trash set on one of the side tables when we came in. Not a big deal, tho, because everything else was fantastic. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends

I wanted to take my two dogs on a quick little hiking trip to DeSoto St. Park, and this little cottage was the perfect stay for us. Very private and peaceful.

We really enjoyed the property and location. The only thing I would complain about is there were no hanger in the closets and no chest of drawers to put our clothes. Otherwise, we had a great stay!

We had a wonderful stay at this cottage. It was so spotless when we arrived and we sure appreciated that. My husband even commented about how clean it was! Comfortable bed too. They even decorated for Christmas which was a pleasant surprise. The kitchen was well stocked so we enjoyed cooking our meals ourselves in the cottage. Appreciate having coffee, filters and creamer available in the morning. Our two small pups loved running around in the ample yard. It was very comforting that the road was a dead end so we felt safe letting our dogs run around in a yard without a fence. We look forward to returning for another visit. Thank you!!

This was a great little getaway for the weekend! Walking distance to downtown Mentone. Everything was very clean and the cabin had everything we needed for the weekend!

We very much enjoyed our stay in this cozy cabin. We did venture down the street to see the river. Wonderful platform deck — great view. There’s a nice sidewalk all the way to the small town stores. Kitchen was nice to cook in, bed was very comfortable but my favorite part was the wood fireplace. I greatly appreciated the supply of kindling and wood. Would definitely rent again if we are up this way.
