Close to everything!!: Walking distance to casual and fine restaurants, coffee houses (the Hot Chocolate Sparrow is a 5 minute walk), galleries, shops, the Cape Cod Bike Trail (.2 miles), and Rock Harbor (.7 miles). Short drive to Skaket Beach (1 mile to the bayside beach) and Nauset Beach (3 miles to the National Seashore - on the ocean side). The Nauset Beach, part of the Cape Cod National Seashore, was voted one of the most beautiful beaches in America.
Many things to do!!: The National Seashore Center in Eastham offers many programs for families, as well as the Audubon Center in Wellfleet. Several Summer Playhouses offer theater which changes on a weekly basis, such as the Academy Playhouse in Orleans, the Dennis Playhouse, the Wellfleet Harbor Actor's Theatre (WHAT). There is a Farmer's Market on Saturday morning in Orleans (a short walk from the house and next to the Hot Chocolate Sparrow), and frequent Art Shows. There are weekly summer band concerts at Nauset Beach, and surrounding towns, and for the kids (big and small) there is mini- golf located nearby. For sports fans, the Orleans Fire Birds, a Summer Cape League Baseball Team, plays regular games about one mile away. Rock Harbor offers deep sea fishing adventures and there is surf fishing at Nauset Beach. Whale watching is a popular activity leaving for Stellwagen Banks from Provincetown. And, finally, the Cape is a bird watcher's paradise!

Nikki was a gracious host who welcomed us to her home tucked within a beautiful garden. It provided ample space for relaxation and family gatherings. The kitchen had everything we needed to make dinners in the evening, the table was perfect for family games, the cross breezes through the windows created a comfortable atmosphere, and we even laid on the upper deck and watched the Perseids one evening.

The house was beautiful and was exactly as advertised.
It was a hot week, but the fans provided by the owner made all the difference. We enjoyed the privacy offered by the house, being tucked back away from the road and with the woods in the backyard. The recent renovations were exceptional.

This property is quintessential Cape Cod! It is so tastefully designed and decorated. It sits back in its own garden oasis - removed from the road and beautifully landscaped. The house is perfect for a family visiting the Cape. It’s ideally located close to town and close to Skaket Beach / Rock Harbor. The owners are wonderful and very friendly.

We'd recommend this rental for the following reasons. 1. The location was great - you can walk to town and easily access the bike path. 2. The house is very private and quiet, and almost feels like a tree house in the forest. 3. The inside of the house is very comfortable - plenty of space for our family of five. 4. The owner was very pleasant and quick to respond to any questions we had.

Nikki and Warrens home is a vacation renters dream. A extremely well cared for home that is incredibly Charming and impeccable clean. gorgeous updated kitchen. Absolutely Gorgeous gardens and grounds. We loved the detailed woodwork trim, the bookcases and wainscoting throughout. The gleaming hardwood floors! The screened porch was ideal to sit with a morning Coffee. The beds were all comfortable (and I’m a bed snob!) the upstairs deck felt like being in a tree house! Super convenient area, close to town and various beaches. Absolutely zero issues. Nikki was terrific! We’ll be back!! Thanks Nikki!

This was our second stay at this lovely home. Beautiful and well-maintained gardens, and the interior had the perfect set up for our family and au pair. With the parents’ and kids’ bedrooms upstairs, and the third bedroom downstairs, it was the perfect amount of privacy for all. Also loved the screened-in porch and second floor deck! The house is in a great location, close to Rock Harbor, Skaket Beach, and downtown Orleans.

Nicki and Warren are very gracious hosts. Nicki called on the evening of our arrival to make sure we were settled in and that everything had gone well. The house is itself is just as described. It is tastefully designed and decorated. Child proofing was easy. The gardens and landscaping are stunning. The location is perfect with easy access to town, Skaket Beach, and Rock Harbor. The house is located on a main road, however it is set back from the road so it is very quiet and idyllic. I look forward to returning again next year.

We had a fantastic getaway at Rock Harbor Retreat! The house was immaculate, clean and beautifully decorated, and the gardens and grounds were well manicured! The kitchen had everything you'd need...microwave, dishes, silverware, toaster, coffeemaker etc. The house is very close to downtown, with plenty of great restaurants and shops and the beach is just a short distance. We're definitely planning another visit! Thank you so much for a wonderful getaway!

Nicki is very communicative. EV charging within walking distance (across from Sparrow cafe). Bike trail and bike rentals nearby as well. Bike trail (kid friendly) is amazing.

The house is gorgeous! From the comfortable beds to tasteful decor, it is a 5 star experience. Nicki was a pleasure to work with! Did I mention we had baby bunnies, birds galore to entertain us? The garden is beautiful! We had a great week!

We stayed a wonderful 10 days here. The house is charming and comfortable, the gardens are as beautiful as the picture. Location is excellent--near Orleans center, convenient to Nauset Beach and the Bay, close to bike path. We highly recommend.

Wonderful stay in Orleans
The cottage is in a fantastic location close to downtown Orleans, the rail trail, Rock Harbor, Skaket Beach and many other things to do in the area.
The cottage is a really beautiful and well kept up. It has everything you need in the kitchen and there was a fresh stock of paper goods to get us started. The deck and screened porch are added bonuses to the property. They also had a set of portable fans if you need them. There are beach chairs and the washer and dryer in the basement. All you need are some groceries and linens.
It's a great vacation home and recommend it highly.

We last stayed in this home five years ago, and wanted to return to it for our Cape vacation. Initially, we had planned for June, but our plans changed (due to COVID). The owner was very accomodating, and we were able to enjoy it later in the summer. We look forward to another summer vacation there.

Wonderful Retreat!
I can't say enough good things about this property! The grounds are tremendous and the back patio was an excellent place to veg out and relax. Cooking was a breeze as the kitchen had so many tools and amenities which you do not find at many rentals. As for Nicki, working with her was a pleasure and she was very responsive to questions throughout the booking process.
Will be looking to book again next year!

Outstanding cottage!
This was our second visit to the property and we cannot overstate how wonderfully clean, appointed, and central it is. The recent improvements (a new dishwasher and paving of the driveway) make it even more likeable. The location is walking distance to shops, restaurants and services and is also just a short distance from two secluded beaches. Provincetown is not far, neither is Hyannis for those wishing to explore further. For us, the quiet, private setting was what we needed to relax, recharge, and regretfully, get back to work!

Second time back to this property. We love the cleanliness and location. Close to the Chocolate Sparrow and bike trail. We were there during the heat wave and wished the house had AC, but they provided lots of fans that we used. I highly recommend this property!

Perfect Private Setting, Stone's Throw from town
We loved our stay at 18 Rock Harbor Lane and recommend it to anyone for up to 6 people. It was comfortable, beautifully decorated, with all the comforts of home. Very private despite its being off a major road due to being set back and being surrounded by trees and beautiful gardens. I would definitely go again!

Can't Wait to Return!
My family and I have been renting Cape summer vacation homes for decades. Each has had its various charms, but I can honestly say this is one of the very few houses I hope to return to. Everything about Rock Harbor Retreat was wonderful--from its beautiful architecture and quality furnishings, to its lovely deck, porch and gardens, to its terrifically convenient location. Communication with the owner was quite satisfying, the living room bookshelves yielded excellent reads, and our favorite Atlantic beaches were an easy drive away; what more could one ask for in a Cape vacation? A truly wonderful rental experience!

Beautiful home and perfect Cape Cod location
My husband and I stayed June 23 to 26th with our daughter and her boyfriend (from WY) and our son and his girlfriend (from Boston.) We had spent many fun vacations in Orleans with friends when our children were young and this was a great way for our family to celebrate a graduation and meet our daughter's friend. Our son was the first to arrive and he called to say how beautiful the home was. There was plenty of room and the home was bright and had everything we needed. We loved the gas fireplace/stove in open living area. A quick walk to town made it easy to rent and return bikes and the trail was very close.
Our last night we made dinner complete with Wellfleet oysters that we bought by the Wellfleet dock and lobsters form Orleans Seafood Market. The market cooked the lobsters for us(I would recommend this-you are on vacation,) but there is a lobster pot if you want to do it yourself.
We had the best time, hope to stay here again.

Beautiful, Clean, and Quiet Getaway
We really enjoyed Nicki's place for our Cape getaway. The place stands off the road behind another house and is surrounded by a lovely garden, resulting in a quiet, beautiful environment. The place was clean, well-equipped. We especially enjoyed the gas-burning fireplace and beautiful deck. The location was great, within walking distance of various shops and restaurants.

This home truly made us feel at home as soon as we opened the door! The decor and design details are exceptional! The yard and garden were added attractions to this property. The home is more than fully equipped for an enjoyable stay. The location close to town while providing peace and privacy was a special combination. Being walking distance to Orleans town center was a definite plus. The peaceful screened porch was a retreat within a retreat. I would certainly recommend this property for a stay on the Cape!

Great Place to Unwind
We greatly enjoy being at the Orleans retreat. The retreat itself is a very relaxing and comfortable site. It is well-furnished and surrounded by trees and beautiful flower beds. We also love the location with easy access to both the bay side and outer ocean National Seashore beaches, and the Cape Cod Rail Trail is right nearby. Some great restaurants (ABBA, Brewster Fish House, Captain Cass's, Cottage Street Bakery, and others) are also in the area. It's so easy to have a good time here.

Lovely spot in Orleans
If you don't look closely, you'll miss this pleasant house which is tucked back from the road behind another house. This means that you get plenty of privacy. The home is surrounded by trees in the rear and the front provides a pretty garden in which to sit or snooze. We loved the 2nd floor deck which makes you feel like you're in a tree house!
The house is well equipped - everything you need for your stay. Also - and this is important - it is immaculate! Truly, a spotless house. Beds are comfortable. Everything works. A great place to stay! Oh - we liked that we were so close to the Cape Cod Bike Trail, shops and restaurants, etc.
