About this cottage rental
Rustic rural escape. Private, fully self contained, 15 min walk to shops and cafes. Once a traditional miners' cottage, now a cozy and comfortable getaway. This cute cottage has been restored to provide modern comfort and style whilst retaining the essence of the traditional miner's cottage.
Inside, the house is light filled and sunny. A comfortable lounge-dining area is decorated with a mix of vintage, modern and antique items. Interesting art works and artifacts add to the individual and eclectic atmosphere. A country style kitchen equipped with gas stove, microwave, dishwasher, coffee machine and a range of cook books caters for your culinary interests. A charming reading/writing room has attractive sunny outlook.
Outside, the cottage sits in a pretty, semi rural setting, with views, lawn, a cottage garden with herbs and vegetables, fruit trees and our own honey bees. It is just a short stroll to the historic town classified by the National Trust. Cafes, pubs, antique and collectible shops, home-wares and craft shops beckon. Relax and enjoy the ambience of this cute cottage and charming, historic town. Check in 2pm Check out 11am.

Quiet cosy charming cottage close to (walking distance) the beautiful town of Maldon.If you want to venture out of town there is plenty to see close by.We will definitely stay again and you must give the yummy honey a go.

A minors cottage is what exactly what we expected, quirks and all, and it didn’t disappoint. The kitchen and bathroom was very clean and the various art and furniture was interesting to look at. It can be cold as it’s winter, the hosts stocked us up with firewood each day which kept us warm. Hosts were very obliging.

Had a very cosy stay at this classic goldfields cottage. The cottage was beautifully decorated and felt so homely and exactly what I wanted out of my stay. Loved having the fire but also having the reverse cycle heater - was kept very warm!! Beautiful wildlife everywhere and very peaceful.

This is a nice, old miners cottage in the Goldfields town of Maldon. It is an easy drive to both Castlemaine and Bendigo. The cottage is perfect for 2 or 3 people wanting to explore the area.

A cute cottage. Comfortable beds. Plenty of condiments, milk detergent and local honey available. It was lovely and clean. A quiet location. A wonderful place to rest and recharge the batteries.

My husband and I spent three lovely days at Maldon cottage. It is a short walk from town, on Anzac Hill.
The property is immaculate ,on a lovely block with trees and gardens .
The bed and pillows are very comfortable,the lounge stylish and relaxing. The kitchen is fully equipped and there is cofee maker and tea, jams and honey,milk and Anzac biscuits provided. There is a bright reading room which has views over the hills. The entire house is very clean,and we were very happy to stay in such well cared for home. Maldon is the most beautiful town ,full of history and charm. Thank you Gayle.

Cute little authentic cottage to immerse in the surrounds of Maldon. Tastefully decorated with a lovely quant porch to sit out and soak in the country air.

Great property offering all the accommodations of home. Very quiet and plenty to do. Plus amazing wildlife literally at your door. So much to do and see at Maldon whether it's a visit at a local cafe and or you are interested in history. Very enjoyable property and area well worth a visit for short and or longer stays. We enjoyed our visit very much and plan to return in the not too distant future.

Lovely cottage great kitchen, plenty if dining & lounge space, bathroom very small.
Advertised as a 3 minute walk into town ? Unrealistic as it is almost 2km an a 15 minute walk.

A charming renovated miner's cottage in a quiet location, a short walk to the fascinating old style town centre. I found it a very comfortable base from which to explore the surrounding area. The cottage is clean, beautifully maintained, with a well-appointed kitchen. Highly recommended!

We were blown away with this gorgeous little place. Beautifully decorated and loads of old world charm. Nestled within a lovely garden, with plenty of spots to enjoy a cuppa. Would be happy to stay again. 🙂🙂

Beautiful cottage fully equipped with everyday essentials. Settling down in front of the fire with a glass of wine was so relaxing . Walking distance to town which has a wide variety of shops . Will definitely be stayinghere again ...thank you 🙂.

Really quaint feel- beautifully decorated- transported back in time in some respects but not sacrificing the mod cons that makes a stay cosy and comfortable. Loved enjoying the fireplace in the depths of winter as well as the throw rugs, and would also love to return in other seasons to see the garden in full bloom! Outside sitting area is lovely too- felt very privileged to have this little getaway. Even saw Kangaroos in adjacent garden. Thanks for the wine and sweet touches Gayle- very accomodating host.
A couple of suggestions- providing some hooks at front door for coats as well as in bedroom for robes etc. And some basic instructions for use of oven 😊Couldn’t get the dryer to work. Otherwise a 5 stars for a country experience!

This is an amazing cottage. Beautifully fitted out with a very homely feel. Great communication from the owner made us feel most welcome. If you plan to come to Maldon definitely stay here you won’t be disappointed.

I stayed here for 4 nights with my mother, who is 90 and fairly picky. The only thing she could find to criticise was the absence of a stair rail on the front steps—but there was a good solid tree trunk that made that unnecessary. The house was beautifully renovated and maintained, beds were comfortable and warm, all mod cons in the kitchen and bathroom—good flat-bottomed bath to stand in under the shower. The gardens had sloping and flat bits so that you could spend time comfortably outside if it were warmer—we did sit out in the sunshine at the table at the back door. Excellent hosts, very considerate before and during the stay; they made us feel very welcome and cared for. This was a great base for exploring Maldon and Castlemaine and the surrounding goldfields country. Very peaceful and pretty. I'd stay here again, no worries.

Amazing country getaway
