About this house rental

Allawah of Bright is a recently renovated and refurbished Victorian home which is only a 2 minute walk from the centre of town. The history of the house is evident in its old world character, however the furniture is modern and comfortable.

This holiday house has enough room for the largest of families, with five bedrooms, including a spacious loft with its own separate entertainment area. There is a lockable bike storage room for your use.

Allawah has ducted heating and cooling, as well as multiple fireplaces of which one is ready for your use on cold winter nights (wood is supplied).

There is a 55 inch OLED television mounted on the wall in the lounge room. Please feel free to use the library/book exchange.

Rest and Relaxation

Allawah of Bright has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms downstairs, and a spacious loft/5th bedroom/play area upstairs. The bedding configuration includes 3 queen size beds, 1 bedroom with 2 singles beds and the loft area has 3 single beds. Please bear in mind that some of the bedrooms maybe locked depending on how many rooms have been requested. All linen is supplied.

The kitchen in Allawah has been recently refurbished, with modern stainless steel appliances for even the most discerning of cooks. A new 90cm LG oven and Nespresso coffee machine have been installed in late 2024. A dishwasher is also provided (appliance that is, not a person!). The modern dining setting also seats 10 comfortably, or alternatively meals could be enjoyed at the breakfast bar, or outdoors in a stunning and tranquil garden setting.

Location

Allawah is a short walk to the beautiful Ovens River and the popular swimming area Centenary Park. A two minute walk will also find you in the centre of town, so no driving is required for you to enjoy the local Bright brewery, cafes, restaurants and Hotels. There is ample car parking at the property (including a carport) so feel free to leave the cars behind and explore the town and restaurants on foot.

A short drive or bicycle ride along the popular bike tracks gives you access to the local wineries, berry farms and picturesque Wandiligong.

For the skiing and snow enthusiasts, Mount Hotham, Mount Buffalo and Falls Creek are only an hour's drive away.

Great spot!! House is lovely (although a little understocked with towels and toilet paper for 11 people) Nice backyard and can walk into town with ease.

This house has a lot of charm. It had everything we needed and enough space for our family of 6 adults and 5 children ranging from 4-8 years. There was room for a game of backyard cricket and we were all able to sit at the large dining table to eat. We all had a wonderful stay.

Beautifully extended period home with lots of charm. Plenty of room for three families. Well appointed kitchen and bathrooms. Plenty of heating and cooling. Flat block fully fenced. Safe for young kids. Great location, just 5-minute walk into town. A very comfortable house to relax in, especially if the weather is bad and you all want to stay indoors.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week in your cozy house. It provided everything we needed for our stay. It was wonderful to return home after a day of cycling and exploring this pretty area, to a well equiped kitchen, and cozy fire. It was a perfect time to visit as the trees were spectacular in all their autumn glory. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for our family. Would love to return!

What an amazing house. Not one negative. Large rooms - bedrooms, bathrooms, dining, kitchen, lounge room, family room and hallway. Very clean. Fully equipped kitchen. Plenty of towels, soaps, toilet paper etc. Very comfortable, quality beds and bedding. Toys, books, dvds, cds galore. Perfect location - a few minutes walk to river, shops and restaurants. Lovely yards. Already looking to rebook with a group of girlfriends.

This is the second time we’ve stayed at “Allawah” and we’ll be back again next year. This is a large property, with several living zones to spread out. Always clean on arrival. Best part, the location, just a short walk to Bright town centre.

Perfect spot for our Girls family getaway. Plenty of space for our 3 generations to spread out, relax & enjoy lots of laughs. Close enough to town to grab a morning coffee, yet quiet location away from centre of town. We loved the selection of board games (TV not even used) Great heating, open fire added to the charm. Beautiful garden setting. 5 Stars

Our family gathered here for Nana's 80th. We had the most wonderful time all together, which is rare as we are scattered all over Australia. The house is so well equipped and perfect for a large group, there were 11 of us. It had everything we needed, really fantastic kitchen, lots of different spaces in the house and outside to be together or to find a quiet spot. It was also a great location, lots of places to walk and close to town centre. A perfect weekend. Thank you.

Excellent home and location - the only improvements needed - 1) check in - we weren’t sent the code to open the lock box, so we had to repeatedly text and email the manager - after a long 7 hour drive and it being dark and close to freezing temp in Winter it wasn’t great to have to wait 40 mins trying to get in. 2) No firestarters / kindling / matches for the fireplace - shame as we were unable to use in the middle of Winter 3) Broken lamp upstairs which was still connected to mains which was dangerous so we disconnected.

This hidden gem is tucked away behind the hustle bustle of town, yet close enough to walk to. Super cosy with an open fire and ducted heating, which kept the whole house warm and cosy. It fit comfortably 7 adults and 3 kids who absolutely had the best time during our stay. The kids loved the upstairs kid retreat with their beds and TV. Everything was super clean and thoughtly decorated, couldn't find a single fault. We will definitely be booking again for next family getaway!

Caroline's place in Bright was perfect! Situated very close to the town centre and surrounded by beautiful nature, we felt that we picked the perfect place for our weekend getaway! The rooms were spacious, clean and there was enough living area for all guests. Would highly recommend.

This is a beautiful , large house in a very leafy spot in Bright, extremely convenient to the town. It’s extremely well appointed with high quality kitchen cooking gear, three bathrooms and the house is wheelchair accessible. Good aircon. We had ten people and it accommodated us really well. Definitely will return.
