Deer Creek Cabin (originally WYSIWYG Cabin) is a log cabin located in Bailey, Colorado, 45 minutes SW of Denver off I-285 South in the area of Elk Creek Highlands in Deer Creek Valley. It is a great mountain getaway! We are a short drive in to Denver, when you wish to go out to a movie or dinner with friends or family while at the cabin.
It is a great log cabin mountain getaway with 2 bedrooms, the master with a queen-size bed, the second with a full-size bed! There is a hot tub on the deck, lounge chairs, outdoor dining area, just to name a few of the luxuries you'll find...
We are 1.5 hours from Breckenridge Ski Resort and 2 hours from Winter Park Ski Resort. We are 1.5 hours from Denver International Airport and 2 hours from Colorado Springs Airport.
It is a great log cabin mountain getaway with 2 bedrooms, the master with a queen-size bed, the second with a full-size bed! There is a hot tub on the deck, lounge chairs, outdoor dining area, just to name a few of the luxuries you'll find...

We just needed a get away, this was it. We watched the birds and looked at the squirrels and chipmunks. We enjoyed the view and soaked up the quiet. This was an amazing trip!

From the booking to the end of our stay, David communicated thoroughly. When we arrived the lights were on and the place felt so welcoming. Anything we could have needed/wanted was thought of. Of all the places we have stayed at in the past 4 years, Deer Creek Cabin was the best.

David’s attention to detail is amazing, truly the best host we have encountered.
The cabin is set up to meet all of your cooking needs. The location is great, very close to amenities but remote enough to enjoy abundant wildlife. We saw countless varieties of birds, including hummingbirds. The highlight for me was the mama and yearling moose that stopped by, walking right beside the deck.
We loved the big windows, it felt like you were right out in nature.
We spent a lot of time on the deck, in the comfortable reclining lawn chairs or at the table, or in the hot tub.

The place was so clean and cozy when we (my dog and I) arrived! Even though it had been snowing on and off, the host, David, was very communicative about the driveway and snow conditions. In general, the host was extremely communicative and helpful. Very welcoming!
Everything about our stay was amazing. I planned on staying in for a couple days to decompress from reality and man, this spot did not disappoint. The hot tub was amazing, right off the "master" bedroom and the views were splendid. The kitchen and living room were just the right size, and the wood burning stove kept us warm all night.
Will definitely be back here, and highly recommend for anyone needing a cozy cabin getaway!

The cabin was so cozy and homey with absolutely everything we could need! The snow fall was scheduled for the second day of our stay so we had time to enjoy using the wrap around porch our first night. We nestled into the couch gazing out the windows as the snow fell on the second day. The view is outstanding! Magical even! Various birds also played and feed right in front of the window pretty much continuously through the days. Our dogs never lacked entertainment. The creature comforts were plentiful, with a nice hot shower, plenty of towels and extra blankets, but the wood burning stove kept us very comfortable. The host communication was above par and we were never left wondering what to expect which is great for an overplanner like me. We couldn’t be more pleased with our experience in this adorable little cabin!

What a time to be alive! The time spent at your cabin was pure joy. Having coffee in the jacuzzi while soaking in all the nature was a dream come true - really truly! Serena and I loved every minute. Cooking a roast, roasting a chicken - all so cozy. Watching the Chargers lose was even a good time! Thank you for sharing your slice of heaven.

We stayed at David’s because we were in Colorado for a family wedding. We wanted the mountain experience instead of staying near the rest of the wedding party in town. Wise choice as things turned out!
The cabin is perfectly located, just secluded enough but not way out of it. Cozy, homey and stocked with everything you need. All you need to bring are groceries so plan to pick those up as you come into town. This was David’s advice which we took and were very glad. There are stores nearby but not a quick hop.
We also brought our 95 pound shepherd who loved it. She was able to remain relatively free as she is at home.
There are endless critters to feed on the deck and great bird watching. I had never seen a magpie before nor a Stellars Jay. We spent most of the time on the lounges on the deck soaking in the sun and enjoying the wild life.
The hot tub was a bonus especially after a 2-day drive to get here. ALSO you do need four wheel drive for the driveway, its steep and has a narrow turning radius at the top. We had a rental Wagoneer and while it got up the slope easily but it was a beast turning it around.
David is the best host I have ever dealt with. He wants you to enjoy yourself. Good tv (the husband can see his sports.) Really nice place. 10/10 Would stay again! Recommended.
Pro tip: Bring groceries when you come in.

Very nice, cozy cabin in the Rocky Mountains. Abundant wildlife, scenic mountain views, relaxing hot tub in a private setting. Close to some great hiking trails, 25 minutes to Conifer, 40 minutes from Denver. We really enjoyed our stay!!

We just returned from a week long vacation where my wife and I stayed at Deer Creek Cabin. The property owner communicated with us extremely well and made our arrival and move-in very easy. The cabin was well equipped for our stay and provided everything that was described and that we needed for a nice stay.
The owner, David, will likely tell you about the local squirrels and chipmunks that take peanuts out of your hand and they certainly do. This was probably the highlight of my wife’s trip and we bought all the unsalted peanuts that King Sooper had in stock.
During our stay we saw mule deer, black, red and grey fox and two moose! All at the camp or within a mile.

This well-appointed cabin is perfect for a relaxing getaway. The decks on three sides of the cabin offer majestic views of the nearby peaks and surrounding meadows and forest. There is abundant wildlife viewing as well, and very close proximity to hiking trails. It is highly recommended.

This was our second visit and would gladly stay many more times! We were greeted by a welcome party of squirrels, chipmunks and birds, who entertained us on the decking throughout our stay. We had mum and baby deer wander through while we had a BBQ one evening, and love the view from the decking and hot tub. Cabin and communications with David were great. A Secluded Mountain Cabin
This cozy mountain cabin is a perfect retreat away from everything. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. David is a terrific host; he communicates well with you on what to expect when you arrive at the lovely cabin he built and maintains well. You will not be disappointed with choosing this cabin. The stars will enchant you while relaxing in the hot tub. The chipmunks & squirrels will put on a show as they partake of the raw unshelled peanuts you provide them. Definitely worth the drive.

Cozy cabin with an amazing view
My husband and I had tickets for a concert at Red Rocks and wanted to find a rental that would accomodate us and our dogs so we could bring them on the road trip from MN. The cabin has amazing views, everything we needed to make food, wildlife to provide entertainment and a hot tub to relax in after hiking. It is a short drive to hiking locations and even though its about an hour drive to Red Rocks, it was so beautiful we didn't mind the drive. We recommend Deer Creek Cabin!

We absolutely loved the cabin! It was very cozy and comfortable. The mountain views were amazing and the wildlife visitors on the deck added so much joy to our stay! Great cabin
Lovely cabin! The owner was excellent with communicating before and during the stay. Lots of extras... fully stocked kitchen not your average 2 old worn out pots and a dented pan! Flashlights with working batteries staged around the house and evidence of many repeat customers leaving magnets on the fridge. Hot tub had fresh water and very hot with nice jets.

Favorite VRBO to Date!
We loved this cabin! There was no shortage of anything we may need (kitchen amenities, towels, soap, paper towels, etc. - even extra food supplies if we forgot something!) There were comfortable patio chairs and an outdoor dining set so it was easy to relax both indoors and outdoors. The hot tub, corn hole, card games, and fishing pond made it to where we had plenty to do in addition to much needed R&R. The thing that really impressed us was that our dogs didn't want to leave. Usually at other cabins they are so nervous they constantly follow us and want to get in the truck any time we take them outside. Thanks, David - for really caring about your guest's and their full experience while enjoying your special place.

Cosy getaway!
Deer Creek Cabin, the perfect little get away in the mountains just an hour outside Denver. Warm and cosy. Easy to find with excellent directions by David. Found cabin in tip top shape. Appreciated the flannel sheets! Wild life abounds with nightly visits from raccoons, foxes and birds if deck is salted with nuts. The cabin’s kitchen is cook ing ready. Nice grocery stores on way in from Denver so stock up because once there you won’t want to leave. Great WiFi and internet service. Games and movies if needed. Thankful for the great communications with David. Hope to return.
