A beautifully relaxing stay!

The cottage is spacious, clean, comfortable and modern with everything you need for a quiet, relaxing break away. Just a stones throw away from the pub where the food is amazing and the hosts really friendly and helpful. There is a canal and lock at the back of the cottage which is really picturesque with the rolling hills in the distance.

There was nothing we didn’t like about the property. I would say though as the cottage is located on a busy main road if you are a light sleeper then ear plugs may be a bonus as you can hear the traffic. We both sleep like the dead so it wasn’t an issue for us.

Lovely Stay.

Comfy bed, quality furniture, spacious cottage, hot water lovely shower. Nice to be able to see when you get up in the night (security safety lights). Towels n shampoo provided, plus every you need in the kitchen. Comfy sofa for lazing on. Nice to have a garden area and private place to park. Home from home :-)

Traffic a bit noisy for me but I,m a light sleeper. Probably wouldnt,t bother most people. I could get from the gravel to the grass area ok, but it would be good for some steps for older people.

Smashing holiday home

Everything about Smithy Cottage!! We loved the layout, facilities, and furnishings; providing all that we needed for a relaxing break. It's probably one of the best self-catering homes we have encountered so far.

Conveniently located for a stop between Welshpool and Newtown, or to explore the Welsh Marches.

Clean and simple accommodation well positioned along the A483, with very good pub food available only a stones throw away at the inn. Pleasant walks along the Montgomery canal available just to the rear of the cottage.

Better glazing to hide the noise of traffic along the A483, and a firmer mattress for a better nights sleep.

Fabulous welcome at the Smithy!

Great location. Hospitable welcome. Comfortable and clean. Next to canal. Ideal for a long stroll. Great pub grub in the Horaeshoes. It is a great find and will endeavour to return in the future. Thank you.

Cottage was immaculate and modern. Lovely that the pub is right next door and the food was beautiful.

Not necessarily a dislike as it was nice to stay in a peaceful location and just relax. However, there isn't anything near to visit so travel is a must if you wish to go out and about.

It was perfect!!!!!, felt so comfortable there, everything was well thought through. All furnishings were good quality. Bed and bedding were so comfortable, best night sleep for a long time. Loved the shower too. Already trying to figure out when we can stay there again.

The cottage was detached from the pub and lovely and quiet. The cottage was spotlessly clean. The bed was huge and very comfortable. This cottage was a very high standard. I fully recommend this cottage for a couple . I rate it 5 🌟 Stars.

Ideal base for two, plenty of space and good pup food next door if you don't want to self cater every evening.

Heating alittle too warm at first but discovered the boiler central heating was set on maximum so adjusted slightly.
