Stay was comfortable & David(the host) is really cool!
The location is really good & just next to the Masai market!
There was a power outage for about 12 hours.

For convenience
Good location, good WiFi.
Not so quiet at night, doors close loudly, dogs bark. With a bit of TLC, the accommodation could be much nicer.

Great basic place to stay in Arusha, for families, solo's or couples , great location.
Great place , it has rooms and a 4 bed dorm on its own corridor, along with a good working toilet, a shower, although the water heater has to be switched on 20 minutes in advance, great water flow . Towels provided, albeit very worn . I had the dorm and facilities to myself for the first night, there is also a wash basin separate from the toilet and shower, hand soap is provided. I slept in the dorm , the ceiling fan was far too noisy to leave on , but temps are now dropping here and actually didn't need it , thank goodness ! The bed was very comfortable, clean cotton base sheet , comfortable pillow, and a very bobbly blanket, which actually during the early hours of the morning wasn't enough to keep me warm , I did have one window wide open though, as I like fresh air... It would have been nice to have a top cotton sheet under the blanket. There are mosquito nets over each bunk , the lower bunks definitely appear to have more head height though. Breakfast was included, and it was great ! Toast , peanut butter, Spanish omelette/fried/scrambled eggs , and a selection of tea and coffee and fresh banana and pineapple, just a perfect selection. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, the owner David has definitely been here before, a very wise young man , with a great understanding of people. Also very accommodating, offering to collect me upon arrival in Arusha and spending a sustainable amount of time with me chatting about stuff to do locally and the culture. A large sitting room is available, there are speakers and a TV, although I tried neither of these. Comfy sofa's! A definite homely feel , relaxed and trustworthy place .. $16.50 per night including breakfast.
There wasn't really anything to dislike here, lots of things are dated but clean . If I'm being picky a top sheet would have been lovely and an extra blanket, or thicker blankets . The property has several big friendly dogs that live outside, a little fly ridden, but totally harmless. This property also has decent wifi.

Very quite and nice staff
The staff is super nice and the rooms are very clean and has a confortable beds. It is also located in a very quite area, so you can sleep very well and far from the noise of the city. We recommend this place.
We only have an issue with the hot water, but nothing serious. As a point to improve, they could change some of the mosquito nets and put some clothes rack.

Simple and basic but quiet for 1 or 2 nights
The team was very calm when welcoming us and even though it was 10 am when we arrived, they still offered us a small breakfast. They have 2 huge dogs, which we who like dogs really appreciate but if you don't like them, don't worry, they are huge but they are super calm. They were also very kind to store our bags for 3 days while we went on safari and didn't charge anything.
Breakfast was very limited, just bread, margarine, jam and coffee. The room was ok, but at night there was a group above our room that was making noise with loud music until late, we were tired and wanted to sleep, we told the guy in charge, but he said he couldn't do anything. At one point I had to shout at the window and ask for silence. I think the inn could have a silence order from 10pm because while some want to stay awake, others want to sleep so they can wake up early the next day and enjoy the day. The guesthouse itself is ok for 1 or 2 nights.

A good place to stay in Arusha
- Excellent staff, they helped me to order my lunch and dinner and carried a late arrived suitcase to the room. - There is Masai market which is 5 minute walk from Wakawaka house, I love it!
- not much choices for food near the house. - breakfast is a little simple, I hope this can be improved.

The hostal meets basic needs, but doesn't go above and beyond to make guests feel welcomed.
The breakfast was just okay, they could have had better fruit and more options for spreads for the toast. Location was good and bed was probably our favorite aspect of the stay. It was comfortable and quiet. The women that work at Wakawaka House were wonderful and very warm and welcoming. Other staff and especially the owner, not so much..
The payment methods advertised on the ad said we could pay by credit card, but this was not an option. They said the machine was not working so we waited during our whole stay and it was never available. They need to update their payment methods on booking because I don't think the machine was the problem... The owner of the place coincided with us once at breakfast and seemed very arrogant and treated us just one more tourist passing through.
