The WHALE home is an oceanfront, premium property, with a spectacular view of the water from all East-facing windows. It is an ideal location, just a half of a mile walk along the beach to the town’s well renowned ‘Flagler Avenue’. Flagler Ave is the most lively and popular strip of retailers and restaurants in NSB, where vacationers can shop and dine, grab a cocktail or even rent some beach bikes and continue to explore all the wonders New Smyrna Beach has to offer!
The layout of this three-story home consists of 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, ideal for a large party, big family or friend gathering. The ground level has its own studio apartment style layout. This includes a quaint dining area, king sized bed and TV and a full bathroom which includes a jetted spa tub and shower in addition to the standard toilet and sink. There is even a pool table on this floor! There is also a washer and dryer on the ground floor inside the garage (though the garage is unavailable for parking, the washer/dryer are accessible). Outside there is plenty of patio seating on the deck and from there you can step right onto the beach!
Up the stairs, the second floor is considered the primary social area. The main living space is located on this level, which features an open-floor plan that includes the living, kitchen and dining room. The wide-open space enables those cooking to interact freely with other members of the party without the confinement of walls. The floor to ceiling windows on this level span the entire East-side of the house, where guests can enjoy watching the ocean waves and wildlife from the comfort of the large curved couch. These grand windows are fully operable and can be opened to enjoy a natural ocean breeze if desired during the cooler months, earlier mornings or late evenings. During the warmer summer days, retreat from the sun and take advantage of cool air conditioning while enjoying a meal here or watching TV on the large flat screen with an incredible view that enables you to simultaneously search the blue horizon for indigenous pelicans and dolphins. You might even get lucky and spot the more elusive manatee, shark, or even a whale!
The second floor also has two very large bedrooms and can sleep up to 8 guests on this level alone! One of the bedrooms features two full beds and the other has two queens. Both of these bedrooms have their own TV sets with cable, and the Wi-Fi extends into these rooms as well. The final feature of this level is the single full-sized bathroom that includes a tub shower, sink and toilet.
Last but most certainly not least, the third floor consists of two bedrooms and two bathrooms. This home was attractive with comfortable beds and good-sized rooms. The location is great, very close to the sand. My family of 13 with three generations stayed for a week. While images are representative, they don't tell the entire story; this home is roomy but really needs basic maintenance and care. It very much looks like a rental property with a minimal amount of money invested in upkeep. There are two flights of stairs in the property, which can be difficult for those of limited mobility, but there are also several random steps around that cause tripping - some are a few inches tall and some are regular step height. We had a few in our party fall and several almost fall; because the floor is all the same color with no contrast on the steps, it is difficult to distinguish a single step in various areas. We put brightly colored removable painter's tape on the steps all over the house that really helped to see where the edges were. The furniture in most of the rooms is minimal quality and doesn't always fit what you might want to store in it, and there are not many hangers in the few closets available (the primary "wardrobe" only had 4 plastic hangers, which we supplemented with a package we bought). The only shade on the patio is a table umbrella and a portable canopy with one leg broken. Our family had a great time there, but I wouldn't rent this property again. If a little money was invested to spruce up the property it would be much more comfortable and inviting.

Nice location right on the beach. Vehicles will be driving on the beach in front of the house, so be aware of that. Had some trouble with washer, dryer, and dishwasher but made do. Overall a nice time!

Our group included kids, grandkids and significant others. The house is ideally located close enough to Flagler to walk to restaurants and attractions but just far enough away from the z a heavier beach crowds that gather near Flagler Ave. The home is comfortable and has plenty of space to spread out. The beach is just a few steps off the porch. The porch was great for hanging out with the family enjoying the sea breeze and listening ocean surf. We look forward to coming back.

This is our second Thanksgiving here, and we hope to return again next year! It is the perfect place for family to get together to cook, walk the beach, and enjoy nearby shops and restaurants. The house is in a great location. Nice walk to Flagler and beautiful views right out back. Plenty of room for our group of 10. Natasja was easy to communicate with and very helpful during our stay. We would definitely consider staying here again if we return to NSB.

The pictures looked better than the real thing, but still, I was not disappointed. The location was absolutely amazing. Only issues were finding dirty things under the couch that weren’t ours, some unusable closets, and a disorganized kitchen. That being said, it was not a deal breaker at all. If it were my house I was renting out, I would take a little more pride in the place and have nicer beds and towels and a more thought out kitchen plan. (Although the beach towels were very nice)
Really appreciated all the beach toys and supplies for little children (gates/high chairs/play pen/ etc).

We were impressed how quickly the house was fixed after hurricane Ian damage. We loved the location, especially the close access to the beach.
It was a perfect house for our family gathering of 11. Natasja was very helpful and easy to work with. The house was clean and well equipped. It had everything we needed. We are planning a return visit soon!!

Great beach front property with everything you could possibly need to make your stay perfect. We went the week after IAN ripped thru florida and the city had already done a great job of cleaning up the town and most shoppes were open as well. Natasja was just amazing! She did double time to find us the right property at the last minute and it worked out great! If you’re looking for rentals in NSB, I would strongly recommend Natasja as your rental agent!

Perfect for large family gatherings - we had 10 and it was more than enough! Could easily sleep 15. Everything you need except a fresh water pool. We brought our own and it was an essential hit (Amazon deliver for less that $50). Walk off the very large patio onto the sand - down to the ocean ... WOW! Sunrise and sunset from patio is unparalleled. Enjoy!

We had a small family reunion to get all of the family together before some of us had to move far away. The property was just as advertised with beautiful view and ample room for us. The beach was beautiful and the people who frequented it were very polite and friendly. We were all reluctant to leave at the end of our stay.

Big, well stocked house, needs maintenance
This house is right on the water and spacious. It is well stocked. House manager is very responsive and easy to work with. But the house was not very clean (areas with visible layers of dust and shower grout that was moldy upon arrival). The minor repairs that were needed were made right away (clogged sink and leaky a/c upon arrival--a/c repair was already scheduled), but the cleaning we requested never happened.
Also, FYI, New Smyrna is on a stretch of beach that cars and trucks--mostly trucks--drive along throughout the day, and there doesn't seem to be a restriction about how loud people can play their music. If you have young kids, you have to be careful walking between the beach and house for this reason. If a quiet beach is what you’re looking for, you may be disappointed, especially on weekends.

Not the cleanest
The location was beautiful there IS a balcony in the Master Bedroom which they don't mention for some reason.....it wasn't the cleanest I found pills behind the nightstand in the Master Bedroom, dfood storage container in a nightstand drawer, they didn't clean the handrails going up either staircase at all, look in between cushions on couch.....disgusting the oven didn't work on main level the dryer didn't work both of which I was asked to get Cereal #'s and brands.....they were fixing them when we left.....there is a broken window in the main living space that has a sign on it......the property manager offered me some money back on the cleaning then didn't follow through, when I asked her about it there was no response! This was very unprofessional of her as I didn't ask for any money back it was offered with no follow through! I have pictures of all of these things..they have ridiculous check out policies like strip all 7 beds and start laundry and you can only leave 3 loads 😳 but be out by 10 AM it also states that you will be charged if there are streaks on the windows and they want you to turn the air up to 78 when you leave which makes it unbearable for the next guest especially on the 3rd floor! The furniture in the bigger bedroom on the main level is cheap as the slats came off while my 110 lb daughter was asleep in the bed it scared her to death! Also got ate up by sand fleas or no see-um bugs sadly for that reason alone we will not return to New Smyrna Beach! The Master Bedroom needs updated but other than that it's a beautiful view and a nice home

Not Easily Accessible
There is only one entry door with extremely steep stairs to main level and another very steep stairway to the upstairs. Our week long stay was interrupted with two days of repair work to plumbing and to replace two of three air conditioning units. We were not forewarned until a few hours before arrival time nor were we accommodated or reimbursed for the loss of two days of our vacation.

The Gray Whale Was Awesome
The home was a great place for family gatherings. We had adults and a 3, 2 and 1 year old. There were three baby gates available to keep the little ones off the stairs. The living room view was stunning. Floor to ceiling panoramic windows for the view of the beach and ocean were worth every penny. Two full kitchens were great for our party of 14. Natasja, our host was available if we needed her for anything. We had parking for 6 vehicles in the drive way. Loved having threee hoses on each side of the home to wash chairs from the beach, and it even had an outdoor shower for getting the salt water off us too. With an annual beach pass for our vehicle, which was the same price for a weekly pass, you’re only a half block from the beach access if you want to tote your chairs, canopies and childrens toys down in your vehicle. This house is just minutes from the popular shops and restaurants on Flagler Ave too. Don’t forget the experience at The Garlic Italian Restaurant either. You won’t be disappointed. Definitely worth another future stay at the Gray Whale!

Our family really enjoyed the house and our week at the beach. Natasia was very helpful. Our only issue was the main floor dishwasher wasn’t usable, but she let us know that before check in. The location was super! The house came with plenty of beach toys, towels, and umbrellas.

Housing for a wedding.
The house turned out to be absolutely perfect for our needs. The views are extraordinary, the patio was great for a gathering after the wedding day. We had a lot of people coming and going, but it never felt crowded. Natasha was very responsive to every text or small issue that came up. For me, I was able to tick a stay like this off my bucket list! You will not regret staying here.

Beautiful Place
The pictures are accurate. Our family had a great time here. There is lots of room, lots of beds and lots of TVs. Well stocked kitchen and linens and towels, along with plenty of beach toys and chairs. Great beach right out the back door. NSB is a delightful small town with eclectic shopping and numerous good restaurants - The Garlic was our favorite. We'll be back.

Plenty of space for all of us. Great location for enjoying NSB.
This is a great location and the property is exactly as listed on VRBO website. The property manager is very responsive to anything that might be amiss. During our stay we had a few issues but everything that we identified was quickly resolved. Some of the issues had more to do with the property not being used as much during the height of the pandemic and hence not everything was ship shape. However, whatever problems were identified they were quickly resolved. I would stay here again without hesitation.

Loved the house!
New Smyrna is a great place to vacation. There are great restaurants, a cute downtown close by, and water activities in both the ocean and the Indian River. Unlike others, I did not find the house dated. It was well stocked and clean. It is very easy to get on the beach, as the dunes are not high. (I've stayed in other beach houses where the dunes are high and hard to get to the beach for older folk.) My only suggestion, as there is no balcony on the main floor, would be to have a table on the patio for a place to eat outside.

Great house, a little out dated. Had everything in listing and pictures were right on. Great amenities. The only complaint I had was the bedding in downstairs apartment. Had a big white bodily fluid spot. That was very noticable when arriving. Other then that it was great for what we were looking for.
