Stunning resort, and food was much better standard than other resorts in the Yasawas that we visited! Lots of activities on offer, and staff are friendly and always willing to help. Beach is wonderful!
Room was pretty basic. Not very good soundproofing between rooms if you have one of the adjoining rooms! Also shower wasn't very good; it flitted between scalding hot or freezing cold constantly. And plumbing in the bathroom didn't smell great! The rest of the resort more than made up for the basic room though!

The people at Oarsman's are SUPERB, big shoutout to Lucy, Cesar, Baru and Bill and the rest of the crew, they went out their way to make sure everyone enjoys their stay. They make Oarsman's feels like home. The view in front of the lodge is breathtaking. Great food everyday. Lots of activities to do both free and charged. Everyone from the dorm sits together during meal time, made many great friends during my stay. Will definitely come back, THANK YOU :)
Having to leave :'(

clean and tidy.
staff are friendly and helpful when booking activities and boat transfers.
lots of activities and things to do.
Food portions are a little small.
Long boat ride from Nadi.

Great location, beautiful beach with a large and healthy house reef 10m from the shore - lion fish, box fish and an impressive array of other reef fish spotted within 30 minutes of my first snorkel! Staff are fabulous and helpful. Good food, good vibes.
Nitpicking here… bathrooms could maybe do with a refit/refurb?

We loved how friendly and helpful the staff were and enjoyed the snorkling off the beach. The loungers out front were great to stretch out on and read a book when you were able to get one.
Lovely meals and will be going back again.
Was not happy about people leaving their towels, etc, on the sun loungers in front of the restaurant and bar and going off for 4-5 hours, preventing others from using them.

The staff is so nice and they received you as part of the family 💖 it was my birthday trip and they made a cake for me! Everything amazing! Everyone is so friendly. Food is amazing and the island is a real paradise
Some of the bungalows don't reach the internet connection make sure you buy a sim card before. But besides that everything was pretty amazing.

Excellent snorkeling!! Easy to access the water at all times. Boutique feel. Very authentic experience.
Plumbing was not very good compared to Canadian standards; proper venting of fixtures would have improved the experience significantly. Recommend installation of “p” traps and vents in the shower to let both air and light in.

This property was the best value for our money during our 11 day stay in Fiji. We traveled up the Mamanucas and the Yasawas. The bay was beautiful. We rated all our hotels and this hotel received our best overall staff satisfaction, they were kind, accommodating, spoke English well, and were overall just so helpful and nice to us. We did their honeymoon island and they packed us champage, lunch, and let us enjoy the island to ourselves with the sunset. They also took us to the Sawa-i-lau caves which was amazing. Our stay was perfect and we would highly recommend Oarsman's Bay. See our review on my Travel Blog: www.meanderingmucho.com
Nothing. It was great for us. The beds were a bit hard for our backs, and the room didn't get especially cold, but it was perfect for me (my husband likes it really cold).

The staff were extremely helpful and very attentive to our needs.

Service: The staff were fantastic, especially Lucy, who was so down to earth and friendly that we still talk about her today and hope she is doing well.
Location: The water was exceptional! Super clean, blue with lots of fish cruising past all the time. The sand on the beach is quite soft, especially considering there is coral reef right at the front of the resort, so you'd expect the sand to be course, and little hermit crabs scurry along it. I think the best part is that the beach faces the sunset, so you can sit on your hammock, have a drink in your hand and watch the sun go down. Some resorts we stayed at don't face the sunset, so this is a huge plus.
Like all islands in the Yasawa's, there's a few mosquitos here. However, just bring bug spray and you'll be ok.
4.8
Comfortable and inviting beachfront property with world class snorkeling right off the beach! We also loved the staff who served us well and treated us like family. Also great food!
Mosquitos at night but who cares?

Oarsman's Bay Lodge was an amazing place to stay! It was secluded/quiet, not many people (adults only), the beach was 40 steps away from our room, food was delicious, and the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. And the views - stunning! There were places to snorkel right off the beach, the beach itself was lovely to lay on, and the water was clear and warm. The Lodge provides snorkeling and kayak gear for free, and they were happy to help us arrange excursions. We went during the wet season (February 2024), but we experienced very few downpours (and even while it was raining we still went swimming). Mosquitos really weren't bad at all - we really only encountered them at dinner time, and a little bug spray did the trick. The accommodations were well kept and comfy. Fantastic place to stay - you won't regret it!

The place is beautiful and especially the hike behind the lodge is beautiful. The dorms was very clean and relaxing. Nice with a shared table for the dorm. Thanks!
There is arranged tours, leaving from the resort. I went on a snorkeling tour and was extremely disappointed that our Fiji “guide” had no or very little knowledge about preserving their own colorful corals. Initially he had a break by standing on the corals, which led to the collapse of the coral.
This went on multiple times on the tour and totally took my mind away from my snorkeling experience.
Eventually I confronted my “guide” about his behavior and he just kept ignoring it and said “it’s fine, it’s fine”, to which I had to reply “no??”
This guy should not be allowed to do any snorkeling and especially not as a guide for tourists. Can’t imagine how many corals that guy can break in a year.
I miss more discipline and education of the staff so the can understand the basic facts about the eco system. This behavior was totally unacceptable.

Dorm.had a/c, and beds were decently comfortable
Bathrooms were rundown, staff was mostly uninterested, house reef was terrible for snorkeling, gluten free vegetarian options were limited

The staff was super friendly. The owner, Dean, went out of his way to help us out. The bartender, Lucy, was very attentive. We took a trip over to the Sawa-i-Lau Cave). It was beautiful. We enjoyed being able to take the kayaks out further than just in front of the resort as some resorts wouldn't let you go very far, and we felt it was pointless to kayak at the other resorts. The food was good. There's a nice hike you can take with a beautiful view.

The staff's kindness stood out for me, people are amazing, kind and helpful so massive thanks to them. I loved the food too, beautiful place to watch sunset and just have the best time basically. 100%recommend. The lady in spa was amazing tooo, can't thank her enough for giving me the best massage.
NOTHING hahah

Paradise found! Our experience at Oarsmans was nothing short of magical. The people, the location, the food, the coral reef ..... my daughter & I had tears running down our cheeks as we said goodbye. We can't wait to return one day.
Thank you to all the beautiful staff who made us feel like part of their family
Nothing, it was perfect!

This is by far the most beautiful dorm I have ever stayed on this entire trip, enough privacy from the rest of the dorm, spacious, clean and tidy linen. The restaurant has some great food, although if you are someone that eats a lot it might not be enough. The staff are friendly and attentive, lovely atmosphere around the resort in general. Great social atmosphere. And the location is beautiful, beautiful white sand beaches located right next to two coral reefs.

The staff were fantastic. Location is excellent and lots of activities. The beds were very comfy!
Nothing. I will definitely be coming back :)

Oarsman's Bay is special. So special, in fact, that we have decided to return next year. We might even make it a tradition. The staff is amazing, the facilities so comfortable, the food yummy, and the island breathtaking. Stay here. You won't regret it.

Oarsman’s Lodge is among the nicest places we’ve ever stayed and we would go back in a heartbeat!! We arrived onto an idyllic white sandy beach with turquoise water and were welcomed by very friendly staff with beautiful singing and a fresh coconut! Our Beachfront Bure was beautiful with stunning views! We loved the relaxed restaurant and bar area, and we found the food to be by far the best we had in Fiji! All of the staff were very helpful with organising activities and we loved the snake dance!! Thank you so much for an unforgettable holiday!
There was only WiFi available in the restaurant area but this didn’t matter to us at all!

Best staff ever. Made us feel like family. Took really good care of my partner who had a skin reaction. Everyone kept asking her about it and offering different medicines and treatments. The beach is mind blowing. The water, the marine life, the sand. It's paradise on earth. Really worth the long ferry ride. I will be recommending this place forever. Best dorm we've ever slept on, didn't even feel like a shared space. Aircon was great. Excursions were really nice. Only place we're "Fiji Time" wasn't used as an excuse... They were relaxed but always on time!
Only thing that upset us in the beginning was the mandatory meal package. In the end, it was worth it. There was literally no other food option and the meals were really good (bit repetitive though but if you go for less than 4 days you probably won't even notice). Apart from that, it was awesome!

The location is absolutely spectacular. The lodge is right on the beachfront on a beautiful bay with a sizeable coral reef in short distance from the shore. There are lots of activities and trips to choose from each day (some paid and some free) and all of the staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, we were made to feel right at home. The food was excellent, all freshly made and prepared with local ingredients. We would love to come back when we can. Vinaka vakalevu! 😊🙏🙌
Nothing; it was perfection itself. 😎

Beautiful beach, the staff was super nice and friendly, the cave activity was awesome! We also bought a couple of handmade souvenirs made by women from local villages.
The food was amazing as well.
Nothing. Everything was perfect.

loved the location. The Bures were beautiful and spacious. The fans and a/c kept it cool. The outside showers were really nice and always had hot water. Having a safe and outside drying racks and another wash off shower was wonderful. The reef right from your door was perfection. Bed and sheets were very comfy. Cake at 4 pm was a great addition.
Our biggest complaint was we did not like the instant coffee. Being espresso/cappuccino drinkers, we had to find an alternate coffee somewhere. we went next door to another resort that let us pay $20/day) for our 4 cappuccinos. it wasn’t a big deal but would have been nice to have it at Oarsman’s. Most of the meals were good such as the pasta dishes, fried fish cake on slaw, the salad, but, we would have liked more variety as it was always chicken or fish. Also would have liked a salad option some nights instead of a soup cause it’s hot outside. We would prefer to have the ability to have a cooked (over easy, scrambled, omelette) egg with bacon or even cereal some days for breakfast rather than franks and beans, sautéed vegetables, pancakes that were only warm and hard boiled eggs.
4.8
Everything was exceptional!! Location, location, location!! I don't even want to write such a good review, because people will come!! Wi-fi was strong. Food was beyond amazing!! Ben, Andi, Uma, & Isii made it 1000 stars!!
🌟 Thank you so much!!
Bring snacks! No store nearby. You may get hungry mid afternoon between meals!!

We had chosen this property for its proximity to the coral reef, and our snorkelling around this beautiful reef was an excellent experience. We had also read the reviews and agree that the food is excellent. There was a good variety of dishes and styles of presentation that were well cooked and delicious. Overseas Visitors need to keep in mind the logistics of getting produce delivered to these outer islands. It is the reason why they charge extra for the meal plans.
Our room was very comfortable and included air conditioning, which was necessary in the high humidity we experienced. We really appreciated the calmness of this resort, compared to the numbers of younger tourists who arrived at the resort next door. We enjoyed our visit to the local village and school, which was enlightening. As a final comment, I found the staff at this facility to be very friendly and professional, and the overall facility to be well maintained and efficiently run.
There were a few small things that annoyed us during our stay: There were a few brazen smokers who cared little about other guests; the trees between the Bures have not yet grown tall enough to supply shade during the heat of the day; and then there was the rain, which no one can control.

the room was absolutely beautiful. a adorable little hut right on the beach with a lovely hammock and private Sun loungers. the beach was lovely, even if a little rough at times. we did lots of paddle boarding which was great. the staff were super friendly, and happy. this was one of the quieter resorts we stayed at which was really nice.
nothing in particular we didn’t like/enjoy. food was okay, not as good as some of the other resorts but still decent.
4.8
Beautiful hotel with the most amazing staff to make you feel well looked after during your stay. From the moment we stepped off the boat we were relaxed and comfortable. Island was so beautiful and amazing beach, so quiet and easy to snorkel straight from the hotel. Accommodation was the best we had across all the islands we visited, the hammock was so nice for chilling and sunbeds for every room. Food was delicious and very varied compared to some of the other islands.
Wifi was very slow but can't fault otherwise!
4.8
Fantastic food, staff, beach, amenities, and activities !
the ferry ride out is long but well worth it, as you go out the islands get much prettier

Found the staff to go over and beyond to help, so friendly and caring.. Accommodation was outstanding. Cleaned everyday, bed made, staff accommodating to activities. No problems. Absolutely loved the beautiful singing. Loved the visit to the village.
Nothing

very good showers, friendly staff
they don't have a beach at high tide, the food was good quality but too little portions, no option for scambled eggs, omelettes as other resorts offer, the reef was not the best, after all the reviews I expected to be perfect but for me it was not
