The Getaway Recon!

We had a Marina view room on the 4th floor! We enjoyed and took advantage of the onsite options for food "Skippers and the Holiday Inn next door, walking distance" we also liked the fact that we had a Thai Restaurant, Cuban Restaurant "Denny's" both 2 minutes away from the hotel on Overseas Highway "the main two way road you travel on to get to the hotel" both of these eateries were reasonable and the food was excellent! We used our stay as a Recon for our next trip down, we do have a nephew that lives here in Key Largo off of Hammock with his family 5 minutes from the hotel. We drove south 2 hours over the 7 Mile Bridge. Stopped at Marathon Beach, Big Pine, Bahia State Park, Tavenier just to name a few. Next time its all the way down to the end and we will choose to stay at Mariana De Mar again as our hub and drive south. We searched hotel names we saw as we passed them on our way south and found most to be very expensive. Our current price of $250.00 a night at marina Del Mar was within our vacation budget for our stay considering our excursion plans and the Rental Car cost we drove down from Palm Bay where our trip started from. Our search had revealed a $325.00 to as high as $600.00 a night stay for what? There was no Breakfast being served in bed, no butler or maid, no foot or back massages, etc being advertised at these other "hotels" so we were very pleased with our choice... Marina Del Mar may be dated in appearance. This was probably the Shea Shea back in the day when it went up and opened! Rooms was clean, linen clean no stains, bathroom clean, hot & cold water worked, water pressure good, TV Cable was packed with channels, fridge in room held and kept our beer and water cold. Staff was very friendly and attentive... Overall we had a relaxing, kicked back Getaway!

PARKING! We did have to drive around at times to find parking within the same hotel front lot. The parking in the front of the Marina Del Mar is for probably 20 to 25 cars. Once that is packed you have to park in the Holiday Inn parking lot which is right next door, no real biggie however during our stay I do not believe we were near hotel capacity. So we didn't have to park not one time in the Holiday Inn parking lot however that may not be the same if you travel down and stay during their peak times where the hotel is near to or at full capacity.

Teuer und man bekommt nicht das was man bucht

Die Lage ist schön

Ich habe das Hotel gebucht weil es Balkone hat. Wir haben noch ein Upgrade dazu gebucht mit Blick auf den Yachthafen. Es gab keine Privatbalkone, das wussten wir. Aber Zimmer mit Balkontür und somit die Hoffnung auf ein helles Zimmer gab es. Davor dann Stühle mit Tisch. Wir bekamen ein dunkles Zimmer aber ohne Balkon!!!! Obwohl dieses auf unserem Voucher bestätigt wurde. Auf Nachfrage hieß es es gäbe keine Balkone- trotz Bestätigung - und sie wären eh ausgebucht. Genau neben unserem Zimmer war ein Zimmer mit Balkontür und Stühlen.....Unser Zimmer hatte ein Fenster mit einer Jalousie die man nicht hochziehen konnte- somit kein Blick auf den Yachthafen. Und richtig schließen konnte man sie auch nicht so hatten wir die gewünschte Helligkeit dann Nachts da eine Lampe vor dem Fenster die ganze Nacht ins Zimmer leuchtete..... Für 3 Nächte und 800€ ist das eine absolute Frechheit.

Nice place to stay, relaxing, great pool, 2 great restaurants close by.

Breakfast was good, nothing fancy, but good. Great coffee. Nice eating area outside overlooking the marina.

Marina Del Mar is AWESOME!!

The room keys for the wrist were super convenient and awesome!! :) Being walking distance to everything was great too!! We parked our car the day we arrived and didn't use it again until we left!! Just an overall great location!!

Exceptional

The view is beautiful. The free breakfast is decent. The staff were informative and friendly. The room was very large and clean. Massive glass doors so that you can enjoy the view from your room.

More than adequate for our purposes and a good value. Not fancy, but functional.

Good value for the money. Nice amenities outside. Great pool and hot tub, enjoyed the hammocks.

The bathroom was in really bad shape, in serious need of upgrade. Things were a bit cramped. You couldn't open the bathroom door if anyone was at the sink or fridge.

The hotel was overall amazing. The location was beautiful. Staff were so courteous. Great pool.

The location and scenery.

We were missing a few utensils in the room, such as a knife for cutting veg and chopping board. Floors in room left our feet black when walking barefoot.

Excellent place for people to stay and enjoy the Florida Keys

Free breakfast was decent and excellent location to explore the keys. Was surprised the Colombian Bold coffee was good. Gas Station and super market were near by as well.

Wish could have spent more time there!!!!

Excellent location on canal front. Loved coffee maker. Bed very comfortable. Thrilled by visit from two manatees at breakfast😊

Rooms needed updating. Bathroom particularly out of date. Sliding doors (mirror) on wardrobe could have fallen off, very unstable.

Excellent!

The hotel overcame our expectations. The bed is very comfortable, sheets made with high quality cotton. The apartment has a kitchen well equipped and a friendly living room. From the balcony you can have a great view of a marina channel (very close to boat trips - diving, fishing, glass bottom boat). The hotel offers a complimentary breakfast. The fee is fair and honest relating to the hotel offers. I warmly recommend this hotel, and will be back in a future opportuniy.

I suggest to install a curtain in the room.

We had a fabulous time, would certainly return in the future

The property location is absolutely stunning, you don't get much better then the florida keys and a marina. They had a lovely sitting area with Games for some fun, large Hammocks to lounge in, loved watching the boats and the fact you are allowed to use the pools at the other connecting resorts is awesome. Also great restaurants to eat at on site. We had a fabulous time and would love to return.

The rooms are very dated , however we were never in the room unless it was ro sleep because the grounds and whole are is so beautiful. The beds were huge and super comfy aswell. Breakfast was underwhelming, although it put food in our stomach so saved us some cash.

Exceptional

Always enjoyed staying here. Great location watching boats go by on marina. Our room stayed nice and cool, very clean ,great pool and restaurants within walking distance.

The shower was broken in our room and the bathroom really needed to be redone.

I’ve been going there for almost 40 years periodically

needs to be updated especially the rooms my bed was beyond horrible woke up w backache everyday furthermore i haven’t stopped itching i hope it wasn’t bed bugs there’s a bar called Sharkys beyond loud
