First I would like to say that the location of the property is great and very convenient. We loved the lake ,neighborhood and really enjoyed our time there. The inside of the house is nice but could use some cleaning,especially the master bathroom! We arrived at night and was unable to see the driveway or the front porch . There is one small light by the front door and the yard light works when it wants to so it’s very dark in the front yard. The backyard is the same way no lighting except for on the back porch so you can’t see the dangerous steps that go to the dock. The steps were cement with 4x4’s that looked as if they were used to form the steps and left there. They stick up in places so it’s very easy to trip on them if your not paying close attention. There is a water house that runs from the house down the steps that also may cause you to trip. Then you have grass and some type of plant growing all over the steps as well . The jacuzzi looked very inviting in pics but we were unable to use it because of the sand , trash and cloudy water in it. The dock has no lighting or power and was covered in spider webs . Take good lights with you if you choose this property! Also the 1st and 2nd floor back porches are in horrible shape! It rained about everyday we were there and the gutters are full of debris so they drain into the porch! That being said watch out for the roaches in the house because of the poor conditions of the yard ! So I called mark to tell him about the jacuzzi and roaches .he said it would be handled ! We never seen the pest control people and the lady he sent to take care of jacuzzi said she was going to get the water looking better but couldn’t do anything about the trash in it!!! Then I received a email stating the grill wasn’t working and there would be a new one there on Wednesday. The grill was delivered and left at the front door ! It was still at front door when we left on Sunday! I called mark a couple more times and he never responded! We are from the country and can make the best out of most any situation but this place for the money we spent is not what we had in mind for summer vacation! Like I said in the beginning of this we enjoyed the lake and our time but it could’ve been a lot better if the accommodations were in better shape!

The owners of the proper need to clean and maintain the gutter systems all around the house. They are full of shingle sediment and debris. This will be causing major roof damage if it already had not. We had a big rain the first night and I could see the water on the roof of the front porch wrapping around the vinel sideing most likely into the wood. Needs attention ASAP!

Stayed here for my son's graduation from college. The house was the perfect spot for my family to spend time for the weekend.

It was the perfect place to stay and not have to go anywhere. The house and property are beautiful minus a few nicks and dents. Was great to be right on the lake and have a place to dock our boat. Only downside was that the hot tub was not working. And that was what made us choose this particular property.

Easy check in and perfect location on the lake. Any issues were quickly resolved :) family vacation was a success

The interior furnishings of the home were very nice, however several things concerned us not only for our stay but for others. 1: lack of smoke alarms , the wiring was sticking out of the wall but no alarms 2. when it rains (and it did every day) front door unusable due to over flowing gutter. With deluge from rain we had SC version of Niagara Falls. 3: lack of hand rails for all inside stairs, some stairs had hand rails but not all. 4: fans on porch did not work, porch underwater with any rain ceiling appears to be coming loose 5. nail heads sticking up on porch and outside deck 6. Lack of any hand rails for steep incline steps going down to dock 7. concrete pad of steps going to dock have dropped lower the landscape timbers surrounding them causing tripping hazard. If you do not watch every step you will fall regardless of how healthy you are. 8. lack of another way to access dock with out using steps, or steep cart path. 9. no golf cart for cart path 10. no sign saying path is for golf carts only 11. hot tub did not work consistently

Loved the house we fished ,we went kayaking, swimming and enjoyed eating Breakfast and dinner on the deck. We loved the constant breeze coming from the lake Watching all the boats come by and everybody waives at you The upper deck on the dock is perfect for lunch and a great nap !!! Would definitely rent this house again Susan H

This amazing Townville home was extremely roomy, had great amenities and was located on deep water, very accessible to both Clemson and Anderson. Be aware that the steps and smooth pathway are very long extremely steep and might not be appropriate for anyone with physical issues. Be aware that snakes are commonplace in South Carolina so always mind your step when heading to the water or anyplace outside. Also, before you head out for your first grocery store run, double check the basic staples you might need including dish washer and laundry detergent, napkins, paper towels and TP. Rented this house for 3 nights May 2021 for son’s graduation from Clemson. Initially had a room booked at the Abernathy Hotel, but they had jacked up the prices for that weekend. Turned to VRBO and found this gem and went with it. . Check-in process was perfect. Usually with VRBO I am asking many questions that pop into my head before venturing out, but Mark sent an email immediately with everything delineated that I could think of asking! This place was UNBELIEVABLE!!! Absolutely spotless. Bottom floor with extra ‘fridge, TV, pool table, dart board (I left no holes in the wall). Middle floor with 2 BR, 2 Bath. Main floor with LARGE living room, LARGE TV, LARGE dining area, PERFECT kitchen. Spotless main BR with another large TV, great bathroom, excellent walk in closet. A deck that wrapped around the back with a grill and tables. A LOWER level patio with ANOTHER area to relax outside. . Right on the lake with a hot tub that worked perfectly. Boat dock with a deck on top to lay out and watch the lake activity. Swam in the lake. Rented a boat from a nearby marina and drove it over and parked at the house dock and had a marvelous day on the lake. . Highly recommended . All the above for LESS than the cost of one hotel room at the Abernathy for that particular weekend.

It was extremely difficult to get in touch with a real person to obtain ANY information. The hot tub never worked during our stay. Although it was filled with water, it wasn't hot and never turned on for us. After calling to report this issue, it was not fixed, nor did we see any attempt by anyone to fix it during our stay. Any owner that is unable to promptly fix an issue like this should not be permitted to list property for short or long term stays on vrbo. The view of the lake was nice, but the experience with the property management company unfortunately overshadowed our stay. After much back and forth, this host offered a 20% refund. They should have offered AT LEAST a 50% refund in this situation. 100% would not recommend to any traveler.

We absolutely loved the location especially with it being by the lake. If it was fixed up and the bug problem was taken care of. The carpet looked to be new and recently cleaned. There was two large roaches one in the master bathroom and the other under the kitchen table. There were little flying bugs all through out the house and specifically on the locked door near the kitchen. In the bedroom there was red spots that looked like dried blood which had me worried they probably have bed bugs. It could have been a really pretty house and a great stay if they could at least get the bug problem under control however they defiantly needed to clean the home a little better an get a exterminator in there asap. Hopefully the don't have bed bugs as that would really stink forever that went on the trip. The was no darts for the dart board, the grill wasn't in working order. The was no wood for the fire place. We planned a stay for 4 days and all we had was two rolls of toilet paper. I wouldn't recommend this vacation home until they take care of some issues.

My in-laws, myself, my husband, and our son (12), needed a different environment to relax. Because of Covid, we have been work/school/play at home. The house, hot tub, lake, fireplaces, everything so welcoming and wonderful. --The only struggle we had was with the oven, which is on the older side, and didn't always heat as it should....but you make do and all is well. We also rented a boat from Big Water Marina, and again, it was a great experience. We will definitely do this again. Mark provided everything we needed upfront, we felt very well taken care of.
