In addition to a beautifully decorated home filled with the homeowner’s artwork, the location was outstanding and the home’s cleanliness exceeded our expectations. It is the little touches,however, that were just as impressive - from the filled rotating spice rack in the kitchen filled with every spice you could possibly need to the upstairs coffee station with a Keurig and a mini fridge so that you didn’t even need to come downstairs for your morning coffee, it was obvious that the homeowners put a lot of thought into making their home a special place. A 5 star rental for sure.

There was a storm one evening and we sat on that wonderful porch and watched God show off for hours. It was amazing! The kitchen is well stocked and there is a huge kitchen table where we had wonderful meals at night. We had a few issues with the golf carts. Wendy Wilmonts staff was very attentive and had it fixed promptly. The location of this house is great. It is on the middle of the island so accessing East beach, the market, and the ferry was very convenient. We ate out a few times and we’re not impressed with the quality or price of our meals. We have been coming to BHI for 15 years and the inflation was quite evident. I will bring more food from home next year. Overall, I highly recommend A Soft Landing!!

However, many things lacking for what would be expected in a 10,000$ rental. Kitchen appliances and dishes etc are very haphazard and unorganized. Many dirty. Only 7 forks supplied. Need a full silverware count. TVs worked ok but were basic and sound was poor especially in the main living area. Water pressure was very low and water temperature was Luke warm for showers. Reports there were beach chairs, boogie boards and beach toys in listing. But on arrival only two beach chairs were not ripped at the seat. Boogie boards only one was useful the other was coming apart on the edges and cord was broken off. No beach or sand toys. I filled out a request on our first day to ask for additional beach items and no one responded. Dishwasher did not clean well even with pre cleaning the dishes in sink and we used the heavy clean setting. Washer would stop halfway through the cycle and then you hard to restart it. Overall a good location and good space in the house but would not rent again due to inside amenities lacking. This rental needs some help inside.

We had a fabulous stay in Bald Head and Wendy Wilmont Properties accommodated multiple requests to extend days and made us feel welcome and pampered. The house was gorgeous, clean, well located, with a great view!

Very nice property, had a golf cart issue but that was quickly handled. Love the views, location, and pretty much everything about the house! I’ve used WWP’s on occasion for many years, always great customer service.

With that said, we arrived a full hour after check-in and they were still cleaning the house upon our arrival and continued cleaning for another 45 minutes after we arrived. Several light bulbs were out. My husband had to transfer a bulb from one of the bedrooms to the master bathroom. The light at the entry has a couple of bulbs out. The bath mat outside the master shower was soaking wet. We had to wash it immediately upon putting our suitcases down. Also, the beach access walkway had plants growing up through it. There was a deflated balloon in the kitchen/dining area. It seemed since the cleaning crew was short handed that the cleanliness wasn’t what it normally is.

I do think that the interior needs a refresh. The salt water has beaten many of the handles etc. In fact one broke right off. The stove needs to be repaired. The left burner does not work. The new carts are great. Big addition. Same for the living room furniture. Maybe a fresh-up would be a great addition. We may rent it again, as the family likes it. But will also look around. The location is a major benefit.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our 7th season on the Island. Still a special place. The house location is fantastic. It needs some repair. The dishwasher is not actually fixed to the counter.The new oven and microwave are nice, and the refrig needs updating. The fact that the home has excellent wifi, and an added bonus of movie channels was a plus. The front door needs some repair as does the deck doors just because of the impact of the salt air. The carts should be retired. We understand that the owner has ordered a new 6 passenger cart That is good as we had to get a loaner one. Wendy and her team were very professional and responsive. Overall we really loved the location. Great view. Deck is a great place to hang out and the grill is brand new. So we would definitely rent it again. One other note....the air flow into the bedrooms is not right. They get warm. Even keeping the temp as indicated between 72-75 was not working properly. Some had to use fans in the rooms to coll them down. They probably hit 80. They need upgraded A/C or cieling fans or the vents need cleaning.

We had nine people in our rental and one of our golf cart batteries died with three days left in our week. The property manager was very prompt coming to take the old battery away to be fixed but no replacement cart or battery was provided. It completely crippled us and we couldn't go anywhere together because we couldn't all fit in the six seater. This is a problem because our contract said we would be provided a six and a four seater cart. We would like to discuss this with you. Also, there were several necessary hints missing from the house or not working properly. We think it would be beneficial for you to know those things for future renters.
