Incredible views from the bedroom, living room, and of course, the deck. As others have said, to be on the deck and to watch the tides ebb and flow with so much wildlife around in and on the water is simply spectacular. We were a party of two and there was plenty of room. This is truly a family home and not a high end condo being offered to you and that made it all the more charming for us. We have already recommended it to friends and would stay here again.

We had a lovely time in the cottage. The common area is quite large and very comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed including the instruction manual for the microwave. The view of the lagoon is the best feature - watching the tide change and all the birds. Very peaceful. If the weather is cool, be sure to get the fire going right away. We hope to return.

This was an all time great experience. The location-- right on the Bolinas lagoon-- was fully spectacular. In the morning, we sat on the window seat and watched the show: churning, misty water, seagulls and osprey, even the occasional seal. The house is cozy and comfortable, and the hosts could not be nicer or more responsive. You're right at the most gorgeous beach and a minute's stroll from town. All in all, we can't say enough about it!

Had a great two night stay during our rainy stay. The house is right on the water and was very cozy and roomy. We kept warm with wood stove with plenty of wood.

This cottage is larger and more beautiful than the photos. We were there for three days- on one day it rained the whole day- but it was still wonderful. We watched the tides go in and out- a stunning change. Not only can you see the lagoon and the birds and seals and small boats and kayaks, you can also see the Pacific Ocean and the northernmost spit of Stinson Beach. The bedroom is light and comfortable. The kitchen has a view of the living room with its wood burning stove and beamed ceiling and the deck overlooking the Bolinas Lagoon. And best of all, you are steps away from the Bolinas beach where people were fishing, walking their dogs, beachcombing and meditating. Bolinas itself is very small but quirky and charming. Lynda and Bob were in Mexico but they still communicated with us and helped us with any question we had. I wish I could live here!

We had a great 2 day getaway to Bolinas. There are amazing hikes a short drive from here, restaurants and markets a short walk up the street, and just sitting watching the lagoon was wonderful. We saw herons fishing in the morning, sea lions swimming around all day, and the sea lions and pelicans piling up on sandbars in the evening. Such a great location!

I came with a lifelong friend - she took the bedroom and I was very happy on the comfy pullout couch in the living room. Both rooms have water views! And having two bathrooms is a plus! It is clear that the owners are attentive and take loving care. I recommend it highly.

Really enjoyed this place for a weekend get-away with my spouse. The house was clean and the owners were easy to communicate with. The view over the bay from the living room and back deck was beautiful! We enjoyed watching the tide come in/out, watching the birds/seals, and the short walk to the beach. The town of Bolinas is small and local shops may/may not be open when indicated.... just go with it! :-) Location is close to amazing hiking. Overall, this is a great place to have some down time and/or home base for a few day trips. Parking could be tricky during peak times.

We couldn't have asked for a better couple of days in Bolinas. Yes, the weather was awesome. The minus tides were the reason we went this week. And having a house that was a short walking distance to the beach and town was fantastic. But the over the top surprise was being able to stay at a charming house over the harbor. The view was spectacular with a 180 degree view of the water. With a deck that I fished from and caught and released some nice size surf perch. We have visited Bolinas for many years but never staying over the water. Now that we have found this gem we'll absolutely be back. Oh yeah, so what about the inside. It was like the Tardis. Bigger on the inside. We had plenty of room to stretch out and couldn't ask for more.

The word that comes to mind is peaceful. Bring a book, your favorite coffee or tea and enjoy the beauty of life. Built over the water, this is a magical space. Clean, spacious and has everything you might need. There is a nice bedroom with a queen bed but you might find yourself wanting to sleep on the queen pull out sofa. Waking up to that view could have you giving up the bed for the sofa:) A two block walk to the quaint town of Bolinas but you’ll find yourself not wanting to leave the cottage. Sit on the deck with your book and look out over the Bolinas Lagoon. Look up from the pages and see wildlife, surfers, fishermen… just the beauty of nature. Don’t miss this little corner of heaven!

Wood stove was perfect for a rainy winter coast getaway. Awesome place to stay in a fun little town. Will be back again!

Loved it

It was so nice to kick back and relax while watching the ocean and wildlife from the living room by a warm fire!! We kayaked and played on the beach, walked 2 minutes into town for lunch or groceries. We will definitely be back!

Thank you for being so flexible with us. We had a wonderful time despite the Wood burning stove being down due to the last guest accidentally breaking the glass door. The electric heaters worked just fine. Love, love your place and so happy to see the variety of birds and wildlife right off your deck. We will return!

I had a fabulous, relaxing January stay here with my two young daughters. They loved watching the wildlife from the picture windows and the deck. Great birding spot and a sea lion fished in front of the deck 3 days in a row. The beach is a very short walk down the street. The cottage is fully equipped for cooking and there are also great little restaurants all in short walking distance. We enjoyed visiting the neighboring Point Reyes National Seashore. One thing to be aware of: Bolinas is a surfing town. Come weekends, the town is flooded with people. Not a bad thing. Just be aware that you are likely to lose the street parking in front of the house if you go anywhere. The town is fun to explore, so we didn’t mind the extra walking. The vehicles disappeared after dark and we were able to nab the spot again. We highly recommend this cottage.

A well- equipped cottage, inviting living spaces, wonderful views, and peace and quiet!

My wife and I stayed at this roomy cottage in April. We highly recommend this to others. It is clean, comfortable, tastefully decorated and completely charming. You can't beat the location. Its a 4 minute walk to town and the beach is a 1 minute walk away. Best of all, the cottage has a deck right on the estuary with a wonderful view of Mt. Tamalpais behind it. We were a little concerned the estuary might stink at low tide, but it simply smells like the sea. It seemed like most of the time the tide was either coming in or going out, which was lovely to watch and endlessly entertaining as the birds and seals float by. No problems at all. Owners are very nice, communicative and responsive.

This is a great property right on the lagoon. My son and I went kayaking in the lagoon and saw leopard sharks and otters. Although there’s only one bedroom, the house is spacious. I loved all the natural light and the comfy furniture and window seats. The owners called to check in and to see if I had any questions, and I really appreciated their thoughtfulness. I would definitely stay here again.

Calm and relaxing

A very special place - the accommodation and the setting are both enchanting. We had 15 seals follow us in the canoe and kayaks. The tide rushed in and out underneath the deck. We will be back.

We loved our stay at the cottage. It was the perfect way to unwind and relax at the end of our California vacation. We had coffee on the deck (overlooking the lagoon), walked to the beach (a mere steps from the house) and kayaked with the seals. The house was just perfect and easily fit our family of 4. We also loved wandering around the quaint town. The owners checked in with us when we first got in to make sure we had everything we needed. They also promptly returned our security deposit. I found this cottage while searching for a place to stay while making our way from Oregon to Los Angeles. The minute we pulled up, the stress of the previous week just dropped from our shoulders. The cottage is located literally right on the water. It is warm and welcoming and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Since our stay was so short, we never even moved the car from its original parking spot. It takes just minutes to walk into town, which has a few restaurants (decent food at Coast Cafe - we didn't try the new one), grocery stores (we loved the organic one) and a couple of cute shops. The beach is steps away. If we had stayed longer, we would have taken advantage of the kayaks provided and ventured further afield to explore. But we didn't...so we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves right where we were. Sitting out on the deck enjoying coffee in the morning and a glass of wine in the evening, we saw all sorts of wildlife and enjoyed talking with the local fisherman out on their boats. We even got a halibut from one of them (how fresh can you get?) and enjoyed pan frying it for dinner. The owners were very responsive to any questions we had. My husband and I had an awesome time spending two nights at this cottage on the water (it's literally above the water), just a few houses down from the beach, and right around the corner from downtown Bolinas. We had drinks and dinner on the deck and watched the tide roll in and out and the fog pass through, all against the backdrop of Mt Tam and Bolinas Ridge. The beach is steps away, for late night stargazing, and early morning seashell/beach glass collecting. The house has kayaks and canoes ready for your use, you just have to get them down the ladder into the lagoon. We kayaked right by groups of seals, seabirds, and the occasional shark or stingray! If you don't want to go on the water, you can wait until low tide and just walk over to Kent Island in the distance. We'll never forget this place - it has everything. Many thanks to Lynda and Bob!

We stayed a week at the cottage, what a treat. Plenty of wildlife, boating activity, views and relaxation. We did not move the car for the first 2 days. Easy walk to town, great shops and everything you need at the grocery. The coast cafe has great local food Smiley's saloon is the friendliest place to enjoy local music and drink and you can get there without driving. The cottage is well equipped with everything you will need including coffee grinder. We walked on the beach at every low tide, nice friendly people everywhere. Because it was November we had a fire every night very cozy.

We've stayed in other Bolinas vacation rentals. This by far is the best location. Only a few feet to the Channel and beach and on the Lagoon with picture window views of the Lagoon and mountainous Bolinas Ridge in the background. You can access the water from the deck. The kayaks provided a great way to enjoy wildlife up close. The cottage is very comfortable. Lots of nooks to hang out, all with great views. The deck is sunny and warm (for our week anyway). Love watching those seals. The kitchen is well equipped, roomy and open. Wifi is fast enough. TV has streaming capabilities. Although it's one bedroom, we had no trouble using the fold out couch for another family member. A child also can sleep on the cushion of the living room window box. A second bathroom provides some privacy if there is more than a couple. The title "Magical Cottage..." is appropriate.

Highest recommendations for both this lovely cottage and it's owners. Our stay could not have been more perfect: more than comfortably furnished and equipped, both inside and on the deck, and a prime location at the mouth of the lagoon where it meets the ocean. A dream spot made for a dream get away by responsive and responsible owners.

Rented this lovely cottage for my daughter, son-in-law and their 2 children, as we had all come up to Bolinas for a family wedding - they thoroughly enjoyed their stay. Everything was perfect and the kids aged 5 & 8 loved sleeping on the window seats and watching the seals play in the lagoon. The bird life is amazing too. The beach is a 2 minute walk - it could not have been a better location. The booking and house instructions were made very easy and clear by the owner. All in all a delightful place to stay in a truly wonderful little town. Thoroughly recommended.
