We had a lovely week at Pensway, the cottage is in a beautiful village with a lovely pub and was a great base for exploring West Sussex - Arundel Castle and several beaches are a short drive away. Pensway itself is compact (as you would expect from a 300-year-old cottage) but perfect for a family of four with everything we needed for a week's holiday. Perfect cottage for short people. with 1.93 m you will bump your head multiple times. The bathroom is tiny as well. The shower is again not suitable for my length. Biggest disadvantage is the availability of only one toilet which is in the bathroom upstairs and put between the bath and washstand, restricting the space to move your arms. [ and if you are to arrive late at night the presence of some toilet-paper would be handy. Luckily we brought some...........................] Would I ever rent it again? Yes, primary for the location.

Disappointing that we are paying a significant amount for a week and owner does not even provide salt. We had to purchase it!

We chose Pensway because of its proximity to Arundel and because of The George pub nearby. We know the area very well, so we're aware that there aren't any other 'facilities' in the village. The cottage does have one off road car parking space, a small car port, which would not be suitable for a larger car. The cottage had almost everything one might need, although I did notice there was no DVD player. Curiously, what I imagine is a small boxroom/third bedroom is locked and out of use for guests, likewise the cupboard under the stairs. The bathroom is very small but well-presented, but a second toilet would have been appreciated as there were four adults in our party. During our visit we experienced an exceptionally bad thunderstorm which resulted in a leak in the dining room and another on the landing, both of which required bowls to collect the water. The power tripped out but we located the fuse box and were able to reset it. Somewhere to hang wet coats would have been useful. The very best features of the cottage were the oak framed dining room with a dining table to linger over, which lead out into a lovely secluded and well-stocked cottage garden. The suntrap patio area was perfect for al fresco breakfasts and evening drinks, whilst another seating area nearby offered a more shady option. The oriental artefacts dotted around were very interesting and admired. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and would consider a return visit.

A lovely, small cottage in a quiet location. The garden was delightful - with the sound of owls close by at night. Apart from a very popular local pub there were no other amenities - although Arundel was only a few miles away. Once away from the quiet, very small village roads the A27 was very busy and difficult to get onto. For those who love peace and quiet this is a perfect cottage.

Pensway is in the beautiful village of Burpham which is surrounded by lovely countryside. A great place to wake up and enjoy life!

Fabulous home in a wonderfully tranquil setting. So many lovely walks from the doorstop through the South Downs. The garden is as lovely as ever, although a little cool to enjoy this stay. The George is a great pub for drinks and dinner, and 2 minutes from the cottage. Maya, the local property manager, is very helpful. The perfect choice for a relaxing break.
