Property is lovely, large and well maintained without feeling cavernous. Perfect for our group size (16 with 5 couples) and proximity to Canaan Valley ski was a big selling point. Interaction was minimal, responses from Mountaintop were prompt and succinct. Had a bit of difficulty getting the booking made as our initial booking was cancelled without warning, but ultimately the actual process of checking in/out and getting needed information was easy.

so much room for everyone that we were not bumping into each other. Love being so close to Canaan and Black Water Falls. Beautiful area, have been going since the 70's. we loved it! will definitely be back!! Becky and her staff as well as Matt have always gone above and beyond.

The cabin was very roomy! The rooms were large and furnished comfortably. Everyone was very friendly and made checking in and out a breeze!

The property was modern, clean, well maintained, very spacious and fun! Felt like home. The kids loved it.

There were a few things that were broken in the property.

The size of the home was great for our large family get together. The long table could fit everyone in the family. My mother-in-law could not stop talking about this feature. Becky was very quick in answering any questions I had via email.

This was my 3rd time staying in this property and I'm looking forward to the 4th!! Our group loved how spacious the property was! Check-in was quick and easy. The staff was knowledgeable and accommodating.

My family thoroughly enjoyed this home. That said, here are some things you need to know before going. There is no jacuzzi tub. A large walk-in shower has been substituted. The kitchen utensils can handle a large group. The ice and water dispensers on the refrigerator do not work. Be careful, items in the refrigerator will freeze. The temperature is set too low but the sign says not to change. You will need you own bed pillows. I didn't know there could be such flat bed pillows. The location is great. We went horseback riding, visited the Purple Fiddle in Thomas, went to the state parks and even the Gandy Dinner Theater in Elkins. You can see deer from the windows in the house.

Was very nice! The tv did not work in one of the bedrooms. The house was very clean.

Our large group of friends with kids had a great time at the house. Perfect location to hiking and beautiful vistas. Plenty of space, comfortable beds!

Greatly enjoyed the stay at Hawthorne Lodge at Mountaintop Realty. The house was beautiful and was very well equipped. The area had a lot of sightseeing to do an the mountains are beautiful! We always ski Timberline in the winter and we're very glad we now got to visit in the summer. The living space was wonderful! So much room and area for everyone and bedrooms were very nice! The basement was fabulous! Kitchen and dining room were very nice. Becky was most accomodating. I spoke with her many times with questions before arrival in which she always was helpful.

Had a good time. I hope Timberlilne gets some new owners to take care of the place. Glad we could go to Canaan to ski. Team very pleasant and helpful

If a house doesnt have AC, that should be made known on the web page or in contract, and fans should be provided for each room. Also, having us pay $212 cleaning fee and then be told we have to take sheets off bed, have towels washed, empty all trash cans and haul the trash away inside of our vehicle - I feel like we earned half the cleaning fee just in doing all of that. Paper on fridge says there is a code to the trash bin in our paperwork... searched 15 minutes for said code, took trash anyway and realized the trash bin is not locked. Sorry, but I feel like comments listed below should be brought to attention before renting, especially no AC and responsibility for hauling off our own trash. We did have a really nice time, and the house was so nice (minus the musty smell in basement).

Kitchen: coffee pot kept shutting off when attempting to brew coffee, skillets are damaged and don't cook well. Otherwise things were excellent. Great staff to work with!

My favorite features were the kitchen and the dining table. Having such a large family being able to cook for them and serve them all at the same table was wonderful!! We enjoyed playing games together at the dining table as well. Everyone could be included! The kitchen table was perfect for working puzzles which we also love to do. We'll be back next year! Friendly and knowledgeable service from the staff at Mountain Top. Everything was ready and waiting for our arrival! Everything feel into place, smooth as silk, from booking our reservation to check out! Couldn't ask for more.

Overall the property was nice. The useabilty and comfort or the home not much. Everything was done thru email so wasn't a experience just a transaction.

Ski weekend with friends

The amount of space, the flexibility of staff allowing my sister to check in when I unexpectedly got a flat tire on the way there.

The Hawthorne Lodge was beyond our needs and so beautiful! And clean! This may be the cleanest rental I’ve ever had, that alone will keep us returning. We are already starting to plan our next trip! It was beautiful, the fire places with the wood and tile. The furniture was comfortable (one of our group even collected the info so he can but one of the living room chairs)! The game room was fun! Your team was so nice and accommodating. I was actually surprised by how nice everyone was. I didn’t detect any irritation or bad attitude.

The sheer size of the house and its ability to comfortably fit that many people.
