This property was beautifully put together and gave for a relaxing stay! The home is small but packs a lot into it! We opted to rent the paddle boards and Maui Mat- and had a wonderful time exploring the lake, the island, fishing off the dock, and just hanging by the beach. We saw lots of nature and enjoyed a fire lake side. Thanks so much for sharing your cabin with us!

I can’t say enough about our time at Fremont Cottage. Our family spent every minute outside enjoying the amazing sandy beach, cruising around the lake on the paddle boards and swimming in the lake. The lake in front of the cottage was the perfect depth for our small kids to swim! The cabin was clean, cute and had everything we needed and more! Craig was wonderful to work with and will definitely be back to enjoy this property again!

Friends and I had a really enjoyable stay at this lakeside cabin. The aquatic boats and facilities worked out great for us and we enjoyed exploring the nearby island. We swam some but I'd say it's not the best swimming lake due to the good amount of vegetation. I would recommend this to anyone looking to relax by the water.

We absolutely loved our stay at Lake Fremont! Craig’s property was exactly as described and more. We were on the lake everyday with the boat and our kids used the paddle boards just as much. We even felt like locals as we participated in the annual July 4th Boat Parade! 😁 The town of Zimmerman had a well-equipped grocery store for all of our needs and we made quick trips to Princeton and St. Cloud to check our the surrounding area. I highly recommend Craig and his property on Lake Fremont…one of the best VRBO vacations we have had with our family.

The rental comes with all the necessary ammentities. The whole property is comfortable and relaxing with one of the best views in the lake, even with 5 adults and 2 dogs. Craig offers additional rental options to make time on the lake more enjoyable. He was great to work with and even checked in when he saw us outside to make sure everything was as we expected..

This was our third visit, and we once again thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cabin is very clean and well supplied. We enjoyed the privacy, and the lake is beautiful.

To begin, Craig (owner) is incredibly easy to communicate with - friendly, understanding, quick to respond, thorough and detailed. That kind of service shows how committed he is to ensure a wonderful stay and experience. The cabin itself is lovely. It is quaint, clean, and has all of the amenities - washer and dryer, dishwasher, central air, wifi, flat-screen tv (all of which are helpful and so much easier and comfortable when traveling with young children.) There's even a few boxes of toys which my 3.5 year old loved to explore and play with. The location and property is just right. Far enough from the Twin Cities to give the impression you're "getting away," but also close enough to several conveniences. There's a nearby playground and park, and several trails. The private, sandy beach area is a huge perk (especially with kids.) We didn't use the firepit, but it's perfect for s'mores! We caught perch and sunnies right off the dock. It's totally worth renting the watercraft (kayak, canoe, SUPs) - provided a lot of fun for everyone. The accommodations are ideal as a romantic couple retreat or small families with a dog. Definitely recommend and would stay again!

Beautiful & relaxing location, lake & cabin. Stayed here last year, great kitchen, deck, dock for boat & fishing, nice firepit, central air, nice shower with relaxing shower head, lots of room to park, several amenities with cabin, paddle boards, etc. Craig is an excellent host! Thanks Craig!

We had a great weekend at this cabin. Our three year old loved the beach and it was nice and clean! The beach toys were awesome as well for an extra fee. We will be booking for next year for sure!

The weather was sooo cold but Freemont Cabin was warm and cozy making it a good spot for a two day winter Retreat from the busy and freezing world!

Wonderful experience. The house had a great layout for socializing with the family and being able to have a dog as part of the family was perfect.

We are two women in our sixties who stayed here for a week because we wanted to watch the sandhill crane migration at the Sherburne Wildlife Refuge nearby. It was a convenient location for that. The view of the lake from the home was beautiful. There were a couple of mechanical issues we needed to contact the owner about and he was very responsive in addressing them. There are steps in the house that could be easy to trip on for older folks or younger children that it would be helpful to have railings for, and the metal chairs at the dining table were uncomfortable to sit on. But otherwise we enjoyed our stay.

The house was perfect for my husband, myself, and our dog. The house has everything you need, just bring the groceries. We used the kitchen extensively and grilled one night as well. The upstairs queen bed was very comfortable but be warned that the loft ceiling is sloped so getting in and out of bed on the lower ceiling side requires care to avoid hitting your head. We used the fire pit one night and the weather was perfect along with the fact that there were no bugs. The nearby park was great for walks for our dog. Communication with Craig was timely and check in was easy. It’s a great place and would highly recommend.

I believe this was our fifth year at Fremont Cottage, and we have loved each one! It’s the perfect getaway for kids and adults both. This year the new upgrades to the kitchen and bathroom were beautiful to see! Thank you for such a wonderful location to relax with the kids!

Craig was absolutely wonderful to work with, facility was very clean and comfy. Great shower head and bathroom has been updated. Our boys had a great time on paddle boards & Beach area was very nice! Had a nice fire each night in fire pit. Cabin is well equipped with everything a family would need. Spacious kitchen & adjoining room with TV, fireplace, couch, table & chairs. Love how we didn't have to drive far to feel up north! The place is cute, lake is a good size, and having the Maui Mat and paddle boards were awesome. Great Sunset views at night.

Because of COVID, we had expectations of top-notch cleanliness but were disappointed by several issues. Things we discovered were a pile of sand that appeared to have swept but not collected, laundry left in both the washing machine and dryer, a coffee maker with used coffee grounds remaining and coffee left in the pot. The last one really made me question things. If they didn't notice coffee in the coffee pot, they probably didn't disinfect the handle of the pot. That prompted me to use the disinfectant spray that was available to clean all the surfaces in the house.

The beach and nearby nature preserve were great for my three kids (4, 2 & 2). The house is nicely decorated and the kitchen well stocked. Very comfy beds and soft sheets. Ample towels. A well stocked closet of kids activities and games (though with COVID we didn’t use these). The lily pad and SUP were wonderful and I’m so happy we rented them. Craig was also very responsive and helpful both in our planning and upon arrival. Oh, and they have done a beautiful job with the beach and fire pit! Very few beaches on the lake and we loved having it. The water was shallow enough for the kids to play in without the scary drop found on other lakes. However, it was not at all clean. The rugs were full of sand and hair balls. The floors were noticeably dirty and there were little bits of garbage on the floors throughout the house. When we moved beds to set up pack and plays we found a total mess, including something spilled and sticky next to one. There were wet sheets and towels in the washer when we arrived. With three kids playing on the floor it was gross and they even found hair balls and toys left behind only slightly under the couch. With COVID we were wondering if only vacuuming/shaking rugs is skipped or if other things were also not clean. Yuck! Luckily, however, we were outside most of the time and the sheets/beds seemed clean. This isn’t a trend on other reviews except one other so hopefully this is a blip and the owners can find someone else to do the cleaning because this was otherwise a great experience.

We had a great experience at Fremont Cottage. The house has pretty much everything you could need. There were lots of board games, plus some kid toys and craft items that our kids enjoyed. Renting the Maui Mat and the SUPs really allowed us to enjoy the water more. We paddled to the island in the middle of the lake to explore. The lake itself is clean, with a nicely cleared swimming area off the dock. The lake is pretty shallow off the dock, so it was great for smaller swimmers. Highlights of our trip were watching the bald eagle fly around the lake, and seeing a sea plane land in front of the house one evening. Craig was a pleasure to work with and made planning for the trip easy. Thank you for a memorable stay!

We had a wonderful week staying at this lake house! Craig was very fast at replying to any questions we had, which was wonderful! The lake was great, very quiet which was nice. We brought our kayaks and were able to kayak every day. Our 21 month old loved playing in the sand and the water, which was very sandy on the bottom. My two complaints about the property were the cleanliness of the house and the lack of railing on the deck. When we arrived, we could tell there were parts of the house that had not been thoroughly cleaned, including the couch, under the couch, and under the rugs. Since my son is so young and always playing on the floor, we noticed this right away. The deck was wonderful, but it would have been much better had there been a railing around the deck. With a young child there, it was a little nerve wracking because he could have easily fallen of the deck. Otherwise, we loved our stay at the house!

My friends and I have stayed here for our girls weekend 3 years now. It has everything you need for a relaxing lakeside getaway.
