This was our third stay at River Groove. It is a beautiful home in an ideal location. Nestled in the woods, it’s a great place to relax and unwind while being close to the beach and downtown Saugatuck. It’s a quick drive to the beach but also a nice hike through the woods if you prefer. The chain ferry is very close to the house and takes you right into town. The house itself is well designed and maintained. I particularly enjoy sitting on the screened porches listening to birds and the breeze through the woods. It is just a great place!

We enjoyed the atmosphere of the rental and the proximity to holland for the tulip time festival. The hot tub was an added bonus

I've stayed at River Groove several times over the years. Rob has consistently been one of the best hosts I've ever interacted with on VRBO. He's always responsive, and his place is always spotless. He recently remodeled, and the kitchen features all new appliances and is well-stocked with cookware, dishes and silverware. The TVs are new and easy to operate, and the overall look of the home is sleek and modern. The gas fireplace is also new and generates an impressive amount of heat with a simple switch that turns it on and off. The hot tub is tucked into a hillside in the woods and is my favorite part of River Groove. You can sit there and hear the wind blow through the pines and nothing else. I've never stayed there during the summer, but it is very quiet in the offseason, with only a few deer wandering around the property. A 15-minute hike through the dunes (or drive around them) takes you to Oval Beach, and downtown Douglas and Saugatuck are really close, too. Plus, the garage has generally been empty when I've visited, so Rob provides the garage door opener so you can park inside, a nice perk when there's snow. River Groove is an incredible place owned by an incredibly kind person. I look forward to returning again soon.

My daughters and I had planned this getaway weekend for some time to Saugatuck MI. The house we rented was delightfully situated in a wooded area with the river about 500 feet away. It was beautifully and tastefully redone and the radiant floor heating was a real bonus with the onset of cold weather. Communication with the property owner was very easy and made us feel very comfortable. The hiking trails were awesome with the beautiful fall foliage. Would definitely return again and would recommend this place with 5 stars.

Beautiful Cottage in great location. Wonderfully decorated. Wooded area but close proximity to the downtown area. We were a week out from the “open season” so we missed the opportunity to utilize the ferry to downtown - but it was only a few minute drive which was convenient. Also just a minute drive to the beach! Would definitely recommend this place. Owner was very friendly and full of great recommendations- you won’t be disappointed!

This place was perfect getaway spot tucked away with privacy. Only short walk to chain ferry and main streets of Saugatuck. This property was updated nicely and had everything you need for weekend get away. Rob was in good communication before and during our stay. We will definitely stay here again when we return to Saugatuck.

We really enjoyed our stay in this home. Great location! I only have one comment regarding the sleeping arrangements. The bed located in the downstairs was not comfortable for two people. Since there is limited sleeping in this home, it would be nice if the bed were a queen size bed. Also, the current mattress was not good, we both rolled to the middle! But otherwise, I would recommend a stay in this home. It was clean and well cared for. And the property manager was wonderful to work with, always returned my calls timely!

Nice property. Plenty of amenities. The location was great for us. We were just down the road from the chain ferry to cross to downtown. Mount Baldy is up the road for ease of hiking and access to the beach. The screened in porch was great to enjoy the fresh air while not being concerned about bugs. Given the rain we had over the weekend, we enjoyed the luxury of a garage to pull into and walk directly into the house. Definitely worth the stay.

We stayed off-season in this great home. Super location, made a great home base to check out Saugatuck and some of the surrounding areas. Really enjoyed the decor and fun vibe the house has, and it’s really well stocked. The weather was a little cooler than we would have liked for Spring, but it was very nice going back to the house to enjoy the hot-tub in the evenings. Nice and private area back in the trees, yet it’s close to everything. Loved our stay at River Groove!

The house was exactly what it looked like in the pictures. Everything was super clean and fully stocked. Not to mention, Rob was super accommodating and helpful. We will definitely be coming back!!

We keep going back to River Groove because it is close to Oval Beach, to the Ferry and between Saugatuck and Douglas. The owner is always adding new gems to the retro decor. My family enjoys the amenities.

What a wonderful place. Rob, the owner, is very engaging and helpful in every way. We truly enjoyed the location - quick walk to the "Chain Ferry" and then a fun ride into town with no parking problems. It's just the best. Hard to find affordable 2 bedroom rentals that are nice and this certainly qualifies as one of the best. It's super quiet and secluded. Enjoy!
