Beautiful property and surroundings. The staff were fabulous and our room was amazing! We had two dogs with us and they were so welcoming and supplied dog beds and treats… we will definitely go back

Based on previous stay the location and the staff and hospitality and service provided.
Staff were not so helpful and when reported that we were awoken on numerous times by their staff walking and banging (our room was put next to the cleaning cupboard) and directly above the kitchen and walkway/stairway.

The property and the grounds are beautiful.
The interior decor does not do justice to the beautiful building and grounds. The service was not brilliant. We asked to check in early and were asked to pay a high charge. We ordered tea for two which took ages to come and was bizarrely served in two huge pots, far too much for two people, most of which would ultimately go to waste. It seemed that some guest were offered biscuits to accompany their tea and others weren’t. All small things but they add up to a suboptimal impression overall.

Well equipped pet friendly room, with a special personal touch! Gorgeous grounds and staff were very pleasant. Breakfast was delicious! Really gorgeous hotel with stunning grounds. Great location for Guildford!
Our room backed onto the delivery yard, which was noisy and often disturbed the dogs, which was a bit annoying! Also an alarm went off at 5am in an empty neighbouring room, not great start to our stay!

Super staff lovely room and dog friendly and good food. Lovely walks with the hound.
Decor in the bar not really in keeping with such a prestigious building but we are old traditionalist.

it’s a great location. the staff were very friendly which was lovely as it was over Christmas. they may us feel very welcome. It also takes dogs ! this was very helpful! The dog had a sticking left for her on Christmas morning ! She loved it as you can see from the photo!! It was quite funny !!
If I had to say anything - it would be to observe that the cozy doubles … really are cozy ! Quite small! The singles were a bit utilitarian in appearance but they both were well kept, clean and well looked after.

they were so helpful in changing my room booking when I had to bring my puppy at short notice. The room was beautiful and I wish I could have stayed longer!

dog friendly .. they also pushed two single beds

Beautiful hotel and location, room spotless, grounds a joy to explore and a good breakfast. The staff we saw were helpful and informative. Had a lovely afternoon tea in the dining room.
Stairs to room (9) extremely steep difficult when carrying luggage, staff at times hard to find e.g at breakfast. Cost of the room a little high compared to other hotels of this calibre.

An attractive period building set within picturesque grounds.
I booked a comfy king room. The room was very small, less than 1/2 metre between the end of the bed and the wall. With a flat screen also mounted on the wall at the end of the bed, access behind the bed to the other side of the room was difficult. Could clearly hear people in adjacent rooms which affected ability to sleep. The hotel did not offer many additional facilities. At £225 / night I would expect better. I will not be returning.

it’s really badly renovated with little taste and no attention to details. It feels like a motel in standard. definitely not more. have so much potential so it’s a shame.
