Corona must have been deadly for the tourist industry at the island. For us, the places closed down and the degradation of standards in those that remained meant one major plus: most of the time, we were alone at the Ocean Residence, with the pool all for ourselves, the cats all for ourselves, and with Grab food and the kitchenette available we were just fine.

Immediately upon arrival one could see what Corona closures did to Langkawi in general and to this place in particular. The restaurant is gone, the breakfasts, which used to be opulent and amazing, are no more. There is less staff, the wear does show, the bushes you can make tea from are still there, but the happy story is gone with the breakfast. While I could complain, I do not want to. I am glad the Ocean Residence survived, and I hope they will manage to grow back to their former glory, dedication and activism.

this place has better value and comfort then anywhere in Langkawi as we did travel around and this place has the swimming pool outside your balcony and it feels like you have your own private swimming pool

The long pool at the long house is magnificent. It was really convenient to bring our children to swim because the pool is connected to our long house. The view from our long house is astonishing. The location is quite isolated, so it is really peaceful while staying here. The parking space is really close to our long house, so not much hassle to carry things and kids around.

The restaurant was closed, so we had to buy meals from outside. However, there are many food stalls, restaurants and mini markets nearby. It'd be nice if the restaurant is open for breakfast.

There are several swimming pools and the ocean so close by makes it a really unique spot!

Maybe because it was new year there was no breakfast so we need to buy from the supermarket the day before! which was ok! there is a great supermarket with everything in Kuah!

Too much expensive considering that they dont provide breakfast. Some adjacent rooms are bit shabby. I think the property management is not serious about running the business. Cats and dogs are here and there. No security measures are seen.

There was no water one day and one day no electricity. Total waste of money. No communication from owners about either. Only when I complained, they looked into the issue.
