Both times were absolutely amazing and memorable times. The houses have everything you need and really provide the perfect setting for fun with family and friends.

The properties are beautiful, well kept, and in the best location at the lake. The homes were spotless and had all the accessories and kitchen tools you would need. You are close to anything/everything you could want and yet you feel immersed in the natural beauty of the lake. The homes are stunning and spacious so you do not feel cramped at any time. The views of the lake and mountains are unmatched by any other property at the lake! The homes are the perfect place to spend time with family and friends in a beautiful setting. The owners are communicative and so helpful, they made our trip that much better. Trust me, you will not regret staying here!

This home was everything it was advertised to be. Great setting, five large bedrooms, four and a half baths. Nicely decorated. Completely furnished kitchen with all the tools and accessories you could want. Good sized yard that ends at the dock, gas grill, hot tub, pool table and more.

This was a nice place for a great rate. The house was just as described on this site an in the pictures. The only thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars is that the house needs some seasonal maintenance. A few screws and bolts loose throughout the house that made us think we broke something. The eaves need cleaned of the various 6-8 legged critters that have taken roost there, too. The grill needs a deep cleaning. The cleaning crew on check-in day missed a couple beer cans and some lingerie left by the previous tenants. Honestly, nothing major, just a few suggestions for some easy improvements. But those things wouldn't prevent me from renting the place again. It's in a great spot and if you're looking for a place that's right in the middle of things (but still is a quiet spot), has plenty of room for the kids to run around and plenty of room for the adults to be a family and individuals, go for this one.

House is an amazing location directly on the lake with a beautiful flat front lawn to the lakefront and your own firepit and dock. It was beautifully furnished and the pictures do not do it justice-it's very updated! It was impeccably cleaned and anything you could want was in the home (except the things that Stacey clearly states on your check in info to bring) The views from every room are gorgeous and it truly felt like our family was staying in a home away from home. Stacey was amazing with suggestions for what we could do with kids and a dog. She was so quick to respond to any question we had. We are already asking to book again for next year!

Bear Hollow was prefect for a multi family weekend away. Plenty of room, well appointed house, beautiful views of lake. Boat slips made it easy to rent a boat and utilized it for the whole day. Loved having the fire pit for camp fires at night, nice to have plenty of chairs as well. House and hot tub was clean and well maintained. We would definitely rent again.

This was our second time staying at Bear Hollow and we enjoyed this trip better than the first. The weather was perfect. The accommodations were excellent for our family and friend group of 9(actually 10 with the dog). The property was clean and well-maintained. I have already recommended this property to a friend who just happened to mention to me that he was looking for a 5 bedroom property on the lake for his family vacation. I gave him one of your cards, and I am sure he will be in touch! The younger adults enjoyed the white-water rafting at WISP, and we all enjoyed renting a pontoon boat for a day on the water. The brick-oven pizza at Mountain State Brewing Company, and the food and drinks at Boardwalk and Honi-Honi were excellent.

This was the 4th or 5th time we have stayed in Bear Hollow and my husband and I could not be happier. This is our dream lake/mountain home. We have stayed in other accommodations in the area but these sister homes are the very best you can find. So many desirable amenities, very close to local hot spots (including the adorable coffee shop, Arrowhead market and the Honi Honi), and the backyard with dock and amazing views have us sold as very happy return customers year after year. Also, the fact that these houses are dog friendly makes them an A+ in my book. Thank you for allowing us to make wonderful family memories in your gorgeous log homes!

We arrived at Bear Hollow and was pleasantly surprised by the location and house! Not only was it spotless, but also well equipped from lines to dinnerware! We had noticed by day 2 that the light in the refrigerator was out and one over the sink! We called the repair service and within a couple of hours he arrived! Enjoyed having a conversation about the area, since it was our first visit and he was very knowledgeable! We loved our family vacation there and would recommend it in the future!

We went for a family reunion. This is the second year we have stayed at Raccoon Lagoon and Bear Hollow. Love these two houses. Great location. The kids and adults had great fun in the water and the beautiful yard. The houses have all the comforts of home. The owners respond promptly and are very friendly and helpful. Can't say enough good things about these properties. Have already rented again for next year.

This property has everything and well appointed! I am hard to please but found the property in great shape and very clean....location was ideal! View was never ending!

We were very impressed with the homes when we walked in....the pictures didn't do them justice. They are updated and very nicely decorated. The layout of the homes was perfect for multiple families and teens. When you rent both homes and have all that yard space it makes for some fun yard games. We had a perfect vacation and definitely plan to return!

The judge of a wonderful vacation is when you hate to pack up your bags on the last day because you've had a marvelous time. Part of that feeling is that I have an amazing family, and the other part is Raccoon Lagoon was a perfect location for our adventure!! Plusses: - cozy log house with all the amenities needed. -evening walks to the Creamery and morning walks to the donut shop!! -Easy boat rental from Bill's Marina just down the road. -Great back yard for PLAY and camp fires -Close to Bear Hollow, but not a problem. We actually made friends with our neighbors there!! -Plenty of parking, and we hardly drove all week (just for groceries) -Hot tub a JOY -Owners very accessible with the planning and questions. We would do it all over again!!!

We rented this property for a family reunion weekend, with ages ranging from 14-60- so we needed some serious space. The house had the perfect layout for this; large kitchen-dining-family room area leading to a large deck with great lake views and a downstairs game room ideal for the teens. The woodwork on the inside was very impressive, the kitchen had literally everything you could need for any level of cooking, the dock was well set up for swimming or boating (we rented jet skis and kayaks), and there was a nice fire pit for cool evenings under the stars; with a good sized hot tub nearby. We also enjoyed a beautiful day hike and swim in the falls at the nearby Swallow Falls State Park. We would definitely try to rent Bear Hollow again for our next reunion.

This is I think our fifth year to rent this house. We love the location, the condition of the house and the overall beauty of the property. We come for a guys weekend from all over the US as a small class reunion of high school friends. The owners are super to work with and are always interested in how the weekend went for us. The fire pit and boat dock always get used as we love to sit by the lake and enjoy the view. Great house for any occasion!!!

Bear Hollow was a wonderful location for our recent extended family vacation. The accomodations were spacious and up-scale - perfect for individual family units with separate bathrooms and great group gathering space...and we just loved the view!!

I have wanted to get to Deep Creek MD. for 10 yrs, however something always came up that it could not happen. Anyway we made it this year for 5 days over Memorial Day weekend. What can I say! I feel like I have won the lotto when I found "Bear Hollow" and John & Adraine Lutes. First, the place is a secret part of paradise that I did not want to share , However I Must, it is CLEAN, beautiful furniture, well stocked kitchens with pots, pans, silverware, plates.(You want it they have it).The view of the lake from the house will take you breath away. The dock at the house was nice to park the boats for that 5AM fishing. Then take the family out at noon on the pontoon boat for a day of fun and sun on a beautiful CLEAN lake. Now to Jon & Adraine, they are the most kind and friendly people you want to meet.They made sure all my questions were taken care of, always returned calls or emails. Gave many recommendations for things to do at the lake. They made my decision to RENT real easy. We will return to Bear Hollow many Times. They say good things come to people who wait, I waited 10yrs to get to Deep Creek and GREAT THINGS HAPPEN TO US "JOHN & ADRAINE and Bear Hollow". Thanks for making a great vacation for my family and I. Even my wife who is a beach person is telling everyone about what a great time she had, and how great Bear Hollow was. This home is a wonderful place for a vacation. It has everything and is so tastefully decorated. The location is perfect, great views and conveniently located.I highly recommend it for family gatherings or couples getaway. We hope to return.

What a wonderful place with a beautiful view! We spent a fun November weekend at Bear Hollow with 8 friends, 2 babies, & 2 dogs. The dogs loved the deck & the lake. The humans loved the fireplaces, huge kitchen, comfy beds, bright & clean bathrooms, and warm open living spaces. And only a 3 hr 15 min drive from DC!

What a wonderful vacation home to have a reunion! It was beautifully furnished, fully equipped and very spacious. The view use spectacular and we always remember our time at your lodge. Adriane, you were wonderful to deal with and thank you for the wine and flowers...what a wonderful touch. We hope to come again!
