Oceanfront secluded private paradise. We never wanted to leave Hotel Escondido. The ocean felt like it was entirely ours. The sunsets and views were tremendous. The decor is laid back and modern, but yet welcoming and cozy. I could’ve spent hours watching the marine life jumping out of the water while endlessly observing the waves rolling in and out and listening to the crush of the waves. The pool is deceptively big and perfectly situated to soak in the ocean view. The staff are very attentive and there to assist with your every need. They were happy to assist with tours, reservations and taxi service. The food was fantastic, there are endless delicious options. The rooms are a good size and you have the option to slide the doors open for views of the mountains and the ocean. The landscape and location of Hotel Escondido is so inspiring. Would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended.

Maintenance could be better, swimming pools do not look clean and A/C is noisy

The looks/facilities are nice.

Suffered food poisoning (which must have been on the premises). Both of us were intensely sick for 2 days, ruined a good part of our trip. Evening shift of reception was terrible and not willing to help at all. Could not reach management to get approval for our basic requests. Mini fridge was stocked with past expiry date consumptions (which might have gotten us sick) but we were still charged full amount. Upon check-out zero empathy, and a requested bottle of water to ease the suffering a bit was shamelessly charged as well. Absolute joke and awful experience overall, never coming back. Paid 800$ to get poisoned. Cheers hotel escondido! Besides these (idiosyncratic) terrible experiences I think the hotel is generally overpriced. Also terrible sewage smell coming from shower.

Everything else rooms are rubbish food is average facilities old and worn out. Needs work
