It is a beautiful colonial building.

You will get a lot of noise in the room from the reception, road and next building when they have a music event. What we did not like is that at checkout they presented another bill for (voluntary) tip of 10% of the price we paid for at booking.com. We did not pay this tip and explained that we never paid a tip on the hotel bill, only on the restaurant bill.

I have been to Olinda several times, but this was my first time staying at the Pousada do Amparo, and it was very, very good! This charming B&B sits on a lovely street in this historic city. They converted 2 adjoining houses into this pousada (they also occupy another building on the opposite side of the street). Parts of the building date back to the 18th Century & they have left much in place, but have updated enough of the space so that you have all the modern conveniences. Our room had a queen-sized bed that was very comfortable; the bathroom was nice. The room also had a loft with a really cute seating area. Our room had a view of the garden and the city of Recife in the distance. All of the employees were friendly and helpful (if not always well-informed about what was and was not open in the town). There is a pool surrounded by a lovely garden with various seating areas. Breakfast, which is included, is served in the hotel´s restaurant (Bistro Flor de Coco, which is open to the public for lunch and dinner). The quality and variety of the offerings were very nice. Parking is available on the street, which is common here, since most of the buildings were constructed before the invention of the automobile. I would definitely recommend this hotel/B&B and would definitely stay here again.

Location is very good!

Check in was cold and not very welcoming. Room was quite strange with the bathroom opening to the outdoor balcony and not able to close a door. Breakfast service was not very good. Cleanliness of utensils and plates was a problem. Service not very warm nor professional. As well quality of the breakfast was not great compared to other hotels on our trip. Check out was poor … front desk was not very friendly nor warm. We were hapoy to check out after one night and found a lively hotel with breakfast just 3 blocks away! We were super happy we made the decision to check out after 1 night. Not sure how all the reviews for this place are 10 / 10 … Personally I’d give it a 3 maybe 4 / 10.

Nice pousada in a beautiful traditional house with a lovely garden with view over Recefe and the sea in the center of this marvelous historic town Olinda.

Phenomenal place. Excellent restaurant. Very tasteful decor. Gorgeous restored house. Wonderful staff.

After the shower in our first room did not work properly we immediately could change to another, up-graded room that was very beautiful. Very responsive and helpful staff.
