The Beautiful Abalone is an exceptional bed & breakfast. The hosts were stunning and very friendly and the property itself was very comfortable and well decorated with lovely garden views, we really enjoyed our stay.

It was all fantastic.

Nicely made, cozy and clean apartment, close to the beach with a 30 min walk along the beach (boardwalk) to the city center. We enjoyed our stay a lot.

We werden met open armen ontvangen door Dirk en Yvonne en kregen (ook reeds vooraf) alle gewenste informatie. De kamer is mooi ingericht en de zelf gebakken koekjes van Yvonne waren heerlijk. Zalige douche. Zeer centraal gelegen zodat men ook te voet naar het centrum kan stappen. Tijdens de wandeling over het kustpad kan men zelfs walvissen spotten.

Upon arrival we got the most warm welcome you can imagine from Dirk, a kind of welcome you will never get in a hotel, we directly felt welcome and at home. The accommodation is perfectly located and 2 minutes away from the cliff path. The room was really clean and the bed was comfortable. The communication from Dirk and Yvonne was perfect and they provided us a list with recommendations for restaurants and things to do in the area. We would definitely come back. Ps the cookies from Yvonne were delicious

Ein sehr ruhiges, schönes, liebevoll eingerichtetes Cottage in einer sicheren Umgebung. In wenigen Minuten ist man am Küstenweg und erreicht nach kurzer Zeit die Innenstadt. Abends kann man schön auf der Terrasse sitzen und den leckeren Wein der Gastgeber genießen. Dirk ist ein so herzlicher Gastgeber, der einem immer mit Rat und Tat zur Seite steht. Er hat uns bereits im Vorfeld super Tipps zu Aktivitäten, Restaurants aber auch Straßensperrungen zukommen lassen. Yvonne hatte leckere Kekse gebacken. Ein rundum super schöner Aufenthalt.

Excellent accommodation in just the perfect location, 2kms from town and a close walk to the trail work. Beds were super comfy, clean linen and added extra touches - coffee pods, fresh rusks, free bottles of wine. Yvonne was such a great host and very accommodating.

Beautifully decorated, very comfortable beds and eye for detail in each room, complete kitchen and great terrace to sit. Dirk was very communicative, friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay there again!

El sitio está cerca paseando del centro del pueblo y es una casa dividida en 4 estancias, cada una con su propio baño, cocina, salón... todo muy moderno y cómodo. Pero además el dueño es una persona super entrañable y fue realmente encantador con nosotros. Da gusto alojarse en sitios con personas así.

De buitengewone gastvrije, behulpzame en vriendelijke gastvrouw en gastheer. We kregen zelfs een heerlijk fles wijn uit eigen vooraad mee.

Alles was oke.

We would like to sincerely thank Dirk and Yvonne. Before, during and after our stay, they have been very friendly, kind, and generous. The communication was quick and supportive, the apartment was great, super clean, spacious, equipped with more than we needed. A pity we could only stay for one night as the apartment and the garden are inviting to stay much longer. Thanks again and all the best!

The location is super quiet yet close to everything you may need and very accessible. It's a two minute walk to cliff path.

We didn't get the room we booked. We wanted a specific room for specific reasons and it appeared, when we arrived, that that room was given to someone else with no valid alternative offered in exchange. The white blinds that came in our bedroom let a lot of light through and so our bedroom was completely lit up as soon as the sun was up 5:30. There were no power inlets in the bathroom.

Lovely people, really helpful. Hermanus is a walk away but plentiful taxis for a swift ride back.

An extremely well-appointed unit with all the luxuries needed for a comfortable stay. Dirk and Yvonne are the perfect hosts! The unit is in a quiet area, but still conveniently close to the famous Hermanus cliff path and the new harbour restaurants. Also, definitely worthwhile to walk all the way to the old harbour along the cliff path, stopping for something to eat and drink at Fick's Pool.

What a wonderful stay. It is exactly what we were hoping for an more. The facilities were so much more and the attention to detail and small conveniences were much appreciated. Our hosts were welcoming and helpful without being intrusive We even left a Geocache

There is nothing to like in this property, misleading ads and rude manager. Not sure how they have good ratings on booking.com but the rooms could barely fit a bed and only one tiny bathroom for 3 rooms. Booking.com definitely needs to have more scrutiny for such shady properties

The property didn’t let’s us in, stating incorrect pax details, we offered to stay as per booking details but the manager (Dirk) wouldn’t listen and stated calling us dishonest and asked us to leave the property immediately. He wasnt even interested to listen. Seems like a con hotelier.

Although we arrived earlier than 3 pm, there was no active phone number, only one that wasn't answered and another that was an ex employee. I then hooted and knocked and called but no response. The number on the sign outside was not answered, even though I called a dozen times. We had to leave and come back. Only available at 3 pm as indicated on messages, but no contingency in place. The access gates were impossible to open and close, especially in the rain and should have a remote control. As a result I opted for off street parking - not safe for car or people. I couldn't lock up and leave the blinds closed, or couldn't get out the door.. Although "room only" the room had a fridge, microwave and minimal crockery/cultery. Too many basic amenities missing and had to be requested of staff weren't on site, but across the road, through the impossible gate to open and close - heavy manual pedestrian gate also. No knives, forks, plates, no instant coffee, only coffee pods without a machine to make coffee using the pods. I used the plunger but had to wash it each time in the bathroom hand basin. Too little flat surface to work on, just a wonky small shelf that was tilted downwards. Really unpleasant experience unfortunately.
